Tourmaline
Umm...Well, as I said, it is a JRPG. For future reference, it's a two disc 45-70 hour game. The story has it's light humor here and there. The story is at a maturity level where there won't be a joke every single scene, for some reason I already said that...Anyways, the story has sone dark moments. A good comparison might be Final Fantasy 7, but more of Crisis Core. Actually, it might help my comparison if you told me what JRPGs or RPGs you have played before.Anyways, thank you for your help. Guest TheFinalFan
I still don't understand...Could you use the RP rating scale?
Tourmaline
Umm, PG 13, actually...The story of the RP would be about as mature as Kingdom Hearts, you could say.I hope you know what KH is...

Tourmaline
Ok, ok. I'll just take a bit, so please do occupy yourself and forget about this. In other words, pretend this never happened, but remember what I mean in my PM.
Guest TheFinalFan
Oh.Did I offend you with the "Pimp Your RP" comment? If so, I apologize.
Tourmaline
No, I found that quite amusing, to be honest. Your apology isn't accepted, since there was nothing to be sorry about, k? I'm not as sensitive as it seems, I tend to manipulate and make myself look weak, etc etc. I sent the PM, so I'll wait, now.

Tourmaline
Well, I don't exactly know what the difference between a biography and a history is...Whatever, I listen. Name: Nothing too vulgar, obscene, etc etcPokemon Species: Must be a first stageSex: M/FHistory: Cannot be naturally createdFaction: Chosen, "Anti" Chosen, Whatever you wish Personality:Biography:
Guest TheFinalFan
And what do you mean by "cannot be naturally created"?
Tourmaline
Even though you're offline, I'll tell you.It means, if you're one of the ten Chosen/Anti, you cannot have been born from...two people..um, doing it....You know what I mean. You can be a clone of somebody, you can be a mutated lizard who destroys eastern areas and fights monsters taller than scyscrapers. Anything. Cowsmacker
I have been planing on posting a rp on here for sometime now. i have finaly goten to the finishing touches and are wondering any tips to keep people away from intrusive subplots that are overwise pointless in the rp since many rps i have had have been swamped by them. Hydra of Ages
I have been planing on posting a rp on here for sometime now. i have finaly goten to the finishing touches and are wondering any tips to keep people away from intrusive subplots that are overwise pointless in the rp since many rps i have had have been swamped by them. Depends how you describe 'Intrusive'. All RPs need good subplots; After all, that's mainly how the other player characters get characterization time. My basic rule is that if the subplot isn't detracting focus from the main plotline, then it's probably fine. If the subplot is really detracting from the main plot, however, just send them a PM or a warning reminding them that trying to take over the RP could be considered a method of GMing. I'd be careful when you do it though, because as I said, subplots are a necessary component of most RPs.
Jake the Sage
Ahem . . . alright . . . I have had an idea that I want made into a rp/rpg badly; yet I am missing some information that restricts me from getting said rp/rpg up and running. The basic plot is a game with ties to another dimension sends an unknown number of gamers into the opposite world, where they have a lot of options from choose from. They can either just try and get back to the "real" world or, as some have found out, use a cluster of incredibly rare gems to become "god-like" figures. Now the problem that I am having . . . is the actual WORLD. I have names and everything, yet the details need to be put in and that is what I am asking for. Below is a list of the names and information that I want PMed to me [with the title of what was done as the subject]. [spoiler=What I Need Filled Out]Geography and ClimateHistoryForeign Relations and MilitaryScience and TechnologyTransportaionEnergyReligionEducationHealthFoodSportsMonsters    There are a couple I need done . . . ok . . . Unless you want to keep this private can you PM me it For most of your things can I know what type of world is it?(just what you are trying to do with it) And what genre? Sci-fi, medival, modern, post apocalyptic, steam punk, cyber punk, etc..

bury the year
Hey, I'm gonna take the opportunity to use my own thread. 8|Â Anyhoo, I'm thinking of a steampunk-Victorian setting for the RP, with a heavy "undercover supernatural" bend, i.e. the general public doesn't know. It's a summon-based system, so each character will have a gigantic beasty-thing that they can pull out of hammerspace and fight with. However, since plot specifics are my downfall, I'm gonna call upon you guys to give me some advice. (Something with European-style ghosts would work, because that's where I intend/want it to go.) Ideas, please? :
Otaku-sama
The summons should be based on the Roman pantheon or western astrology. Also make a group of imperial inquisitors or something to that effect to add another evil to the plot
Hydra of Ages
European style Ghosts? Meh, I'll try. Hm. Maybe it's just that I've been playing a lot of Fire Emblem recently, but I think you should try to do something with Royalty in there (Maybe it was the word 'Victorian' that set me off...). Let's see... assuming this is a fantasy land we're dealing in, perhaps the leaders of the population have always been of these Summoner-people. Not necessarily the strongest, but the one with the greatest connection to the Aether or whatever. In order to defend them from other Kingdoms, who are also run in a similar way, the ability to summon celestial creatures is kept secret to the sect of military/body guards for the Royalty, and members of the Royal Family. People who develop the ability to summon the creatures are either recruited if they're strong enough, or killed to prevent the secret from coming out. As a twist, maybe the beings themselves are what the Summoners become when they die, either of any cause, or when the Ascend to a Higher Plane somehow. As such, the strength of an old Monarch is added to the strength of the new monarch who stands up, making Regicide a method for both stirring up patriotic fever in the commoners and making the country's ruler stronger. Possibly, the ruler may not fight on his own, but is the one who 'Binds' Summon-Beasts to the summoners in the first place. So, Summoners can summon on their own, but either not very well, or they don't have their own 'Personal' summon until someone Royal gives a grant. Blackstone Dresden
Maybe just make it general European mythology? Or make the Summons tied to the Summoner's ancestry, so you could incorporate literally EVERYTHING that's ever been mentioned in a myth/legend into your RP?
