Catterjune
Eh, it seems a bunch of people have been posting a bunch of manga or anime-only cards, and I want to have less posts to mod and less work to do. I'd post this in site suggestions, but I don't want a bunch of jerks who don't even visit this section to have a say in how it's moderated. So, toss the choice up to you kids. Should anime and manga cards be allowed to be discussed in the TCG section? Poll ends on, oh let's say, Monday, September 27th 2010 In the meantime, all current rules that still exist are still all in effect so keep that in mind and what not. tl;dr version- Read the damn title. -Griffin
Only have them allowed if they aren't massively overpowered or underpowered (AKA: Worth discussing) - Although that might as well mean just ban it, since few seem to be. Sleepy
People tend to discuss pointless cards like Shapesnatch once in a while. That said, I think its a good idea to allow anime/manga-only cards. Its merely something else to choose from while making discussions. They would work sort of like, hypothetical cards. I say experimenting with this would be good. Letting people discuss them (for a while), and see how things go.
Manjoume Thunder
Manga - No. When they are released they are way different that the version that appeared in the manga. Anime - yes. But only if the card has been used recently and has a decent chance of being released.
Just Crouton
Discussing Manga cards is a stupid idea when 99% of them are changed completely in the TCG/OCG when released. Anime cards? Maybe. Speculation over it's release is interesting sometimes.
Kaisu
Manga - No. When they are released they are way different that the version that appeared in the manga. Anime - yes. But only if the card has been used recently and has a decent chance of being released.
This. Manga cards have weird OCG and are waay different from the TCG, while Anime is like the game we play, only without a banlist.
-Berserker-
Anime is like the game we play, only without a banlist. I don't watch anime so much, but, have you seen Pot of Greed there recently?
-Griffin
Anime is like the game we play, only without a banlist, and with the ability to manipulate the order - and even components of your Deck whenever you're in a tight spot - the magnitude of this ability depending entirely upon your plot relevance and if you're the hero, making risk assessment pretty much non-existent since nothing makes sense. *Fixed

Canadian
Manga: You'll get sh** like this: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Spellbook_Inside_the_Pot which is obviously gonna turn into an "OP'ed card is OP'ed" thread, so no for manga's. Anime: Sure thing! [s]most[/s] Quite a few of the anime cards are discussed before they are released. Be it that some of them are "OP'ed card is OP'ed" or "Terrible, Next.", but it's still a more plausable form of discussion so sure why not. (As long as people aren't idiots about it). Also, I said neither, because we should have just opened up an anime / manga / ect.. discussion thread if we wanted to discuss them. (Please don't end up making this a TCG and OCG forum.) Coffee Black
i'd prefer cards that are guaranteed play in the real world. Manga and Anime cards are a bit of a waste of time. i don't care that much though.
Catterjune
I don't particularly see a difference between Manga and Anime cards, since they both have a limited chance of actually being released. Would this be a fair revision? If it's a (currently) Manga or Anime only card being discussed, have the term "Anime" or "Manga" somewhere in the title or subtitle? Manjoume Thunder
I don't particularly see a difference between Manga and Anime cards, since they both have a limited chance of actually being released.
Manga cards do not make much sense and end up being completely different IRL. e.g. Manga Ocean had some battle enhancing effect that only worked under Umi. The IRL one recycles heroes. Manga Startos ATKs directly when you half his ATK. The current one [s]is broke[/s] searches and destroys s/ts. etc

Darkest Hour
Only if they let everyone know in the topic title that it is a manga/anime card that way it can be avoided.

Catterjune
I mostly don't wanna segregate anime from manga, but it does seem a good portion of people dislike anime and manga being under the same banner. Also, should this thread be stickied? I mean, the main reason I didn't when it was first made was 'cause I never read the stickies and assume no one else does either so like... yeah.
