Yeah, my little sister actually got me one of Becoming the Archetype's album's for Christmas. =P

Which one? Terminate Damnation and The Physics of Fire are the two best.

Don't know if anybody ever heard of Norma Jean so..

I like Norma Jean a lot, but I personally would've picked a different song for the uninformed, as they're a straight-up hardcore band at their roots.

This is usually the one I play for people...

Yeah, not my thing though. Sounds like Nu metal and Metalcore? So here's some Nu Metal and Metalcore :3

Nah, their straight-up progressive metal with a lot of metalcore element so, it's easily to confuse them as metalcore(Just like Protest The Hero). Though, I don't know how you get Nu-Metal from them.

Mudvayne is a guilty pleasure for me while I tend to stay away from Sumerian record bands since their roster is full generic bands and that band sounds like most of them.

I like Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child, VS The Anti Mother and Meridional. The rest are ok but they sound more like imitating Botch than just be inspired by him.

And here's a treat. Their from the UK but saw them supporting Glassjaw and Napalm Death and was completely blown away.

Thing with Sumerian is that with every good, original band that they sign like The Haarp Machine or The Faceless, they sign a shitty generic band like I See Stars or Asking Alexandria.

Eh, I never really considered Norma Jean progressive so much as straight up hardcore, in the vein of Botch, Knut, etc. I personally think the Botch comparison is really exaggerated, the only album that really gets accused is O' God, the Aftermath, and even that one doesn't sound all that similar to me. Similar ideas, to be sure, Norma Jean cited Botch as a major influence for the album, even hired the same producer. But I still think the albums are both good on their own. That's my rant ^_^

Since I mentioned hardcore, I wanna post some.

  • 2 weeks later...

They were right in my hometown but I missed em.

I miss everyone. D:

Missed Metallica, missed Eric Clapton, missed Iron Maiden twice, missed Bodom, missed August Burns Red(one of the few mainstream metalcore acts I like), and a few others.

I really need to get my ass to a concert already.
