Exceed Summon : New Info

Recommended Posts

Exceeds shouldn't be as bad as everyone thinks they are. They have a Super Polimerization-like mechanic (except only during your turn and without discarding a card, and only specific towards Levels rather than Fusion Materials)
I'll try them when they are out.

I suppose the monsters need to be in your field... If not, then I'll give them a try...

I don't think this detracts much from Synchros. Just don't run as many of them if you're using an Exceed deck. You can survive with 4, 5, or 6 Synchros, people. I ran a synchro deck that only had 6 Synchros in it (2 of which were Junk Warrior) and consistently won. That's what makes them such BS.

I try to be creative with my decks and try ones with no synchros. Take a guess how many duels I've won with these "creative" decks

Every time I've seen something about Eccess monster mechanics, it always says "on the field"
Especulating this is the only thing that made me thing they were at least worth it for fun when they were supposed to be in the Main Deck.

Dark Heritage Fairys don't synchro at all.

I wonder if those rumors about the across the board removal protection is still true(Where instead of removing an Excess from the field, you sent a unit to the Grave instead).

If so, that alone makes all of them with 2600+ ATK worth it.

No Caius/Brionac/Mist Wurm/D-Prison/Chaos Sorc/etc..

EDIT: You can fin the info here, on the bottom of the page: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/products/bp-exvc.html

Synchro Monsters are battling for their survival! And coming later this year, you’ll learn about a brand new kind of monster you can Special Summon from your Extra Deck.
If they're advertising them like that then these cards will be broken beyond belief.

Exceed Summon
An Exceed Summon(エクシ一ズ召喚 Ekushitzu Shoukan) can be conducted when there are two or more monsters of the same Level on the field. Those monsters can be used as Material Monsters to Summon an Exceed Monster whose Level is equal to the combined Levels of the monsters on the field.

I thought Effect monsters was dark brown. Hell, I don't even know; I don't care about the card frame anyway.

Now I know why Level 5s and 7s aren't possible. The two (or more?) monsters need to be the same level. Don't quite know what to think of that. I need to see more Exceeds before saying their good or bad. I'm happy they're in the Extra Deck so they don't become a dead draw, but they need to bump up the limit. At least to 20.

Also, I wonder if you can use a opponent's monster you control (like with Change of Heart) for a Exceed Summon. If you can, do they become Overlay Units?

Level 5 is possible, but improbable. They would all have to be level 1 monsters.

We don't really know Revise Dragon. What was seen in the manga happened at a chapter cliffhanger. It probably has more effects.

It might not. But that's just the manga. Manga cards are usually very simple and situational... and sometimes get changed from their original effects.

Extra Deck? Eh....like a lot of people have said, they are already pretty cramped. I would've preferred them in the Main Deck, so we have more, I guess you can say 'Variety / Space' for them if they do tend to be usable when released. Then again, I like Super-Star-Silver's idea of Konami raising the Extra Deck by a bit. Perhaps to 20. Same goes with the Side, just to keep them the same. The Frame Color should have been....yellow. Yeah, yellow. They didn't make Yellow Frame Colors yet did they?

As I already said, I don't see any problem with them being in the Extra Deck. If you're going to use them, use them. You won't lose out much by getting rid of some Synchros. Especially since if you're using Excess you should be using a deck meant to bring them out, not Synchros!
Bolded cards are made-up Excess Monsters.

Deck monsters:
Basic Insect x3
Krebons x3
Mystic Tomato x3
Granmarg the Rock Monarch x3

Extra Deck:
Stardust Dragon x2
Colossal Fighter
Black Rose Dragon x2
Life Trancer
Goyo Guardian
Gaia Knight, The Force of Earth
Duck Face (Level 4)
Subway Eatfresh (Level 6)
Pizza Hut (Level 6) x2
Fish Sandwich (Level 8) x2
Explosion Man (Level 10)
I am against increasing the Extra Deck size also. That just encourages more cramming of cards into it that you probably won't use, but there's an off-chance that you might find a 1 in a million spot where it wins you the game. It makes the game more luck-based, and less skill-based.

To me, it sounds like:
• you can use monsters from both sides
• they are in the Extra Deck
• you can use any monsters as long as they are the same level
• the Excess monsters use the Overlaid monsters for effects

If all this is true, then, to me, being able to use your Level 4 with your opponent's Level 4 to summon a Level 8 Excess sounds kinda broken. Your opponent was just -1'd and you got a powerful monster that can use some certain effect twice.
If you can only use your monsters, then they sound less viable than Synchros.

What they need to do, is make the Extra Deck larger.
I'd think it would be smarter to keep it at 15, just because the Extra Deck's getting cramped. You can't easily fit every good Synchro that you can summon anymore (though, ATM, you can still fit most of them). If they release some good Exceeds, it would only bring a little more thinking to the deck-building process.

True, but it's the cover card for Generation Force. I'm sure it won't suck. Like you said it will probably get heavily revised before release.
