Shoulda' been like.

"When this card is Tribute Summoned, send 2 face-down cards from the field to the Graveyard."

Or remove them from play.
Yep.

As of now, even Zaborg is better. Zaborg isn't even one of top four monarchs, so this guy has little hope.
It's unfortunate, too. He looks cool.

I thought the top 4 were Raiza, Caius, Thesty and Zaborg? Possibly Mobius or Kuraz over Thesty/Zaborg I could see... but Zaborg's nice since it's LIGHT, so Sorc fodder and works with Honest.

I was speaking in my ideals, really.
To me, in order, it's Caius, Raiza, Mobius THEN Thestalos. Caius and Raiza are practically the best without needing explanation, but Mobius can help quite a bit. It destroys more cards than Zaborg, garnering more field advantage. In a Monarch deck, I already have enough cards made to destroy monsters. I have two MSTs and Mobius for Spell/Trap removal. Hasn't spell/trap destruction been valued more since the death of Heavy Storm?

Thestalos is getting rid of a card in the opponent's hand plus some burn. I never particularly liked cards that specify hand only destruction, but image how fun it'd be to end up killing a DAD or something that could've been useful. If that guy summoned DAD, you wouldn't really have a chance to summon Zaborg anymore, since you're probably going to have a near dry field after losing three cards....

This is mostly on my own, personal experience, though. Plus I'm a bit biased because Mobius is my favorite Monarch in terms of artwork and effect. He gives the largest field advantage between all Monarchs, overall.

Pretty much its like this:
Caius/Raiza>Thestalos>Mobius>Granmarg>Kuraz>Delg
lucky they made delg or this guy would be the worst.

Why couldn't Caius have been named 'Caius, the Evil Monarch'?
Because having 2 dark(Caius is shadow, Delg is dark. Srsly) Monarchs is just redundant :/

Why does everyone think Thestalos is better than Mobius? Especially in Formula Monarch, Mobius is a million times better than Thestalos, and even, in my opinion, better than Raiza. Mobius gains more field advantage and pops stuff that you don't want face-down. It is WATER, which makes Gungnir with Fishborg, then Gungnir can blow up the monsters for a pretty much complete field wipe in a lot of situations. All Raiza does is creates 1 turn of dead draw and a more open field for one turn. Caius is obviously the best though, doesn't need explaining. [s]Grandma[/s] Granmarg is the second worst, because they made Delg/Herp.

Ironic that their worst monarch is also their funniest counter. Delg the C***block Monarch.
Can someone explain to me why Delg is the counter to Monarch decks?

On topic: Was decent and the most versatile Monarch until Raiza and Caius were made. Useful only in decks that can make really good use of its rock type.

"When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can select up to 2 cards in your opponent's Graveyard, remove them from play...."

What do Frog Monarchs use that would be terrible if removed from play, and is usually run in 2's or 1's?

Treeborn Frog? Ronintoadin?

Okay, yeah, now I can see where it would be awesome against FrogNarchs.

However, you're still milling one or two cards. Just hope you aren't unlucky.

Because chainables exist.

... But seriously though, I dunno. I think it's some old ancient stigma back when everyone ran Starlight Road, back when monsters where the worst threats, not S/Ts. But pretty much, no one runs it. I still like it though. =D

Side Zaborg to make blackrose on opponents turn with formula. gram is ok but mobius is better. yea he can hit monsters but monsters is all because spell/traps are to chainable
That made no sense. By your logic of "only hitting monsters" then gran would better since mobius can't destroy monsters.
