Thomas★Zero

Well knowing that people will bring the obvious statement of card should stay banned due to being + 1 but I had a long think about this where Pot of Avarice is more so used as a recycle mix draw engine which can be used in various decks as an advantage a.k.a Wind-ups and Xyz...considering this their has been a strong valid topic about this in the following 2 video's below where its a 100% equality card which doesn't act to benefit any deck just supports them speed wise...part 1part 2In the end of all of this I think if it happens Pot of Greed could return at 1 if Pot of Avarice is then banned.Still lets hear your thoughts about this, do you plain think it still should be banned or should return to 1 with Avarice banned. Dementuo
Pot of Greed is a generic +1 that can be run in literally every single deck, works amazingly at any time during the game, and is a spell, making it playable turn 1. This has no reason to return, ever.
Not-so-Radiant Arin
Avarice is actually worse than Pot of Greed. BWAHAHAHAHA sorry, I couldn't even say that with a straight face.
Just Crouton
Yes, let's give a generic, mindless +1 to every deck, including the decks everyone hates like Exodia, Final Countdown, and Chain Burn. I bold "mindless" for a reason. That reason being that no card should ever allow you to not have to think about playing it, especially one that lets you draw 2 cards for free. People should really stop bringing this card up.
evilfusion
Pot of Greed is just terrible design in the current meta. Back in the day, the game was too slow to abuse this significantly. Right now, it's a skill-less card. There's never a reason not to play it, no reason not to run it in any Deck, it's a Spell with no cost, no activation condition, no trick to using it. It's always live unless there's only 1 card left in your Deck. It gives a +1 in card advantage and requires no thought or dedication and speeds up literally every Deck that can exist. Just Crouton
I like how CapitalG compares Pot of Greed's +1 advantage to Gearframe and Gadgets, when they aren't cards that can be ran in every deck like Pot of Greed.

evilfusion
Also to note is that draw power is carefully regulated in this day and age. +1 draw power usually has horrendously strict conditions (Boon of the Meklord Emperors) or requires dedication or a later stage of the game (Pot of Avarice). Almost all other forms of draw power require a cost and/or is a +0. (Trade-In, Destiny Draw, Allure, Upstart Goblin, etc, etc, etc). The argument that it helps everyone is BS. It helps the person who gets to it first. The game is considered fast as hell already, and speeding up every single Deck even more is only detrimental to the game. It's a skill-less card that doesn't require any thought, strategy, or player interaction. Every Deck benefits from it, and it's a +1 for free. ~British Soul~
This has no reason to exist given the state of the current meta. Given the fact that it can be run in any deck, is always live and requires no thought or interaction is just silly, and its cell in Yugimonz jail shouldn't be unlocked as its key had been thrown away. Anyone who thinks it could come back at some point should be thrown into Yugimonz jail.
Wildflame
Some decks don't use Avarice. Some decks don't use BLS, Solemn Judgement, or even Monster Reborn, Dark Hole or Heavy Storm. Absolutely every deck, no exceptions at all, would use PoG if it were unlimited. I don't think that would be a good thing.
Kazooie
I looked at the title and I cried, then I looked at who posted it and shrugged. This card coming back is just stupid. Everything that really needs to be said about this card has been said. It benefits the player who draws it first.

Thomas★Zero
in these case's I do agree about the mindless +1 though in some sense konami could of just done something like this...Neo Pot of GreedSpellThis cards name is also treated as "Pot of Greed". (allows you to re-awaken the old support cards of pot of greed)Activate this card while... 1. Your hand has 2 cards less than your opponents hand 2. If you have no cards in your hand; Draw 2 cards. (In this case it would make it so you can just simply can't activate it during first turn and requires you to set up cards in order to play it.)You can only activate 1 "Neo Pot of Greed" Once per turn. (This is encase Konami doesn't think of just dropping it to 1 right on the spot on release.)Still replacing Pot of Avarice for Pot of Greed in in turn as I mentioned before stop the whole recycle process which allows various decks like Wind-Ups, HERO's, Lightsworn and Gadgets to recycle their Fusion's, Synchros and Xyz's and also recycle various monsters from the deck for various combo's and etc. In turn of the ban POA and replace with POG it makes it so you have to rely on the resources you had and not just make it so you can just re-use them again for your own advantage. You're hurting me now. As a side note, having a card "treated" as Pot of Greed without specifying location includes Deck Construction. (We call this the "Harpie Lady" clause, although I think Umi started it first) Thus, Neo Pot of Greed would be considered banned when constructing your Deck. Replacing Avarice for Greed is horrible thought process. Avarice can't be used unless you have 5+ monsters in the Grave, and if something chains to remove one of the 5 targets, Avarice does nothing. That restriction is theoretically the balance, but Plants/etc proved they get around it and get more advantage because they can fulfill the condition swiftly. Replacing it for a conditionless +1 is NOT balancing it. The idea of "relying on your current resources rather than recycling them" is not a good argument. Recycling the resources is only part of what makes Avarice abusable. The main thing is the +1 AND recycling. If you had a Spell that returned 5 monsters to the Deck and did nothing else, it would probably not see any play because it's a -1 that only recycles. Some Decks would use it, sure, but it's the "draw 2" that makes Avarice so good.

evilfusion
I thought that the banlist only effects it on stated printed card names not via Harpie Clause. Well, the Harpie Lady cards say "this card is treated as Harpie Lady". A Legendary Ocean says "this card is treated as Umi". Both can't stack. That's why the newest Harpie support says "this card is treated as Harpie Lady while on the Field or in the Graveyard". You could say Neo Pot is treated as Pot of Greed while in hand or something. But it doesn't change the fact that Pot of Greed should stay banned forevermore.

Toffee.
Pot of Greed needs the same treatment that Bill got~Back in the day, you could play all 4 copies at once.Now-a-days, Supporter Bill lets you still Draw 2, but then you cant play any other Supporters in the same turn......Maybe not, though, since we have Duality/Avarice(lolavarice)/Upstart/etc, running around.
