Premier Alexander Romanov
There are pros and cons to each one, but I'd like YCM's opinion on these three cards this format. If they were all in the same pack, why weren't they all together?Anyways, pretty good cards, especially Lance and Dress. Chalice, not so much.
Sora1499
Chalice is outclassed by fiendish and veiler. Dress is great in Evilswarm, and pretty good overall, but Lance is better because the ATK loss is greater AND it guards again stuff like Dprison. Not-so-Radiant Arin
Lance is the most versatile out of all three. 800 ATK loss is great for defensive plays and being unable to be affected by other cards is great for an offensive push. Chalice is good, but if you use it defensively you have to be careful of the extra 400 ATK and if you use it offensively you have to be careful of the effect negation. I don't know what to say about Dress, given that once you're targeted by something and flip it, it won't matter because it will have already been targeted. Probably some of the better staples of the game, in my opinion.
vla1ne
chalice in a deck that uses the barbarous monsters it also can take care of cards like black rose and BLS that have either multiple effects, or multi-hit effects. but the majority of decks would probably prefer lance in their decks, it has better general plays, and if you only have one or two monsters on the field, it's the better card to have set, because you can handle far more kinds of plays. Dress takes more though to use properly, but when you do, it has it's own niche, especially in a format like this one, where one for one destruction is the most prevalent form. Thomas★Zero
Lance is obviously the best out of the trio for protection against spell and traps and shenanigans with the 800 ATK drop. Still Dress is nice if you need protection various monster effects as well. Chalice am not sure on due to the power boost it has even if it does negate its effects for the turn. AGATHODAIMON BANGTAIL COW
This is the issue with Dress. Basically, just about anything you would want it to protect against, it doesn't and/or Lance already does that. No, the issue with Dress is that the dress is ugly and the lady in the artwork knows it. But on an actually serious note, I usually don't have good luck with Lance'ing my monsters. 800 is not that much, but as an addition/subtraction amount, it's a somewhat big number, especially when you Lance your own monster just for your opponent to throw some mook at it after failing to Dark Hole it. Dress's slightly lower reduction is nice-ish for avoiding this, but Dress has targeting issues and the 200 points that Dress saves won't always save the monster from being whacked to death in the lolBattle Phase. Oh well, strategy isn't supposed to be easy.
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Dress can stop you from being destroyed by effects that happen in the damage step like Ryko or Basilisk (not due to the target part, but due to the non-destruction part). However, this is something that rarely comes up.
