Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by "Silent Magician LV4" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card is unaffected by your opponent's Spell effects.
Last person I expected to get a rep from.

LV need to get better sometime soon, because they have a really interesting mechanic scheme that isn't particularly overpowered or underpowered.

And this card is hawt anyway.

Discuss.

This card, along with Swordsman are among my favorite cards in the entire game.

I wanted this card to have more colorful and dynamic alternate art for the anniversary pack back in 2010. The one it currently has barely has any color, it's just standing, and is a copy-pasted scene of the manga, that actually looked better in the manga panel.

This was a tricky thing to adapt into the game. Yugi's LVs were pretty lame-looking at first but grew on steps.

If translated into IRL like that, 1] They'd have to decide what stage art they'd use. 2] There'd be complications for "leaves the field and returns" situations that would reset it. The idea was very clever and balanced for their time.

Though nowadays it just creates inconsistency and heavy monsters that become potential dead draws.

They'd nowadays be even able to evolve the same way Utopia just changes into regular C39. With higher stages from the Extra Deck (most likely as Fusion Monsters). Of course while covering certain varying conditions. I think that'd be amazing.

Only worthwhile use is with Level Up!, which ignores SS conditions. Otherwise, Silent Magician takes 5 turns to evolve, which is WAY too slow.

It counts times your opponent draws, not draw phases. You can speed up the process by using Hand Destruction or Dark World Dealings or Morphing Jar. Or you could end the duel even faster by just surrendering because you'll probably be giving them the win by letting them draw so much anyway.

Unrelated note: I remember someone once used Level 4 + Level Modulation, to not only get back level 8 with Level Modulation but speed up level 4 by having me draw two cards. Not a good strategy in the end because I drew Raiza and had Treeborn in grave, and them drawing into level 8 next turn was really bad, but it was kinda clever I guess.
