When this card is Special Summoned: You can choose either 1 or 2, then excavate that many cards from the top of your Deck, send any excavated Plant-Type monsters to the Graveyard, also place the other cards on the bottom of your Deck in any order. If this card is excavated from the Deck and sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 1 Plant-Type monster from your Deck. You can only use this effect of "Sylvan Sproutcolyte" once per turn.

Even more Sylvans. Spore or Copy Plant form the deck?, bring it on.
Shoot meh, but is Glow Up Bulb really THAT bad? I have a thing for this card. =D It mills and Summons, once a duel. I mean, sure some things can go off, but this isn't awful by any means. Unless I am missing something, then in that case, shoot meh.
Have you even played in Plants format?! Cuz I haven't. But a generic +1 tuner for no cost that can make damn near everything and is now searchable is waaaaaaay too good.

I haven't either. I just saw this used for, you know, Synchros. Shoooot me for it, but milling isn't ALWAYS a good thing. Also, its once a duel. Is that really, really, really THAT bad? For milling ONE time and getting revived? I swear so many cards do something similar if not exactly the same.

TGM, you never played in Plant Format, you wouldn't know. With multiple Debris, Lonefire and also Glow-Up with Spore, they were a god damn nightmare. I wasn't helped that you could also run the LS engine in the deck as well.

I derped on Lonefire. And now its at 2. Yeah, my bad.

Still, Spore and Glow Up are once a duel. I feel like I am missing something that makes them "broken." Spore isn't bad for banishing, I suppose. But meh, whatever.

It's because they were generic Tuners

No one was running anything else other than the Plant-Engine

And let's not forget that the Plant format also had 3 Formula and 3 Hyper Libs, which fyi, the plant engine could crap out like nobody's business.

I wish I had lived in this format. =P

But my question is would it be bad NOW? Sure, back then. and Sylvans just became a thing. I just feel like the card isn't that bad. Then again, I have bias because I like that it is one of the few good Level one Tuners.

Glow-Up was what turned Plants from a good solid deck to crazy Tier 0. If it came back, Plants would once again be splashed into like everything and they make for some really ridiculous (albeit fun) plays. I played Plants in the Plant format, so I know...

Anyway, back to the topic. Konami is really trying very hard to break this game back to Dragon/Spellbook format aren't they? Power creep is growing exponentially and this is just another example of that.

To be honest, I am kinda confused with the mixed reaction for the sylvan supports in sites across the web.

It's all either "Meh, deck'll still crap", "not bad, but not what the deck needed", "OMGWTF BROKEN HIT SYLVAN NAO", or "ALL HAIL OUR SYLVAN OVERLORDS".

Guess that's just because they're sylvans.

Playing the deck now, honest opinion, theyre a bit lucksack, but when they pull off combos, THEY PULL OFF COMBOS

I'm relating them to Infernities right now, just because they both function similarly. Sylvans can end the turn with 4 beaters with no sweat, due to Lonefire
