Maeriberii Haan
Hoshiyomi no Majutsushi (Astromancy Magician) Level 5 DARK Spellcaster-Type Pendulum Effect Monster ATK 1200 DEF 2400 Pendulum Scale 1 Spell Effect: If your Pendulum Monster battles, your opponent cannot activate Spell Cards until the end of the damage step. If your other Pendulum Zone doesn’t has a “Majutsushi” card or “Odd-Eyes” card, this card’s Pendulum Scale becomes 4. Monster Effect: Once per turn, when 1 Pendulum Monster you control is returned to your hand by your opponent’s card effect: You can Special Summon 1 monster with the same Level from your hand. Oh my. The monster effect suuuuuucked. Or maybe not.
Sleepy
This guy sounds like he's only really gonna be good if we get a set of cards that turn your opponent's cards' effects into "return x to hand". Otherwise it's as situational as any card that depends on your opponent ever made. That or he'll be like Neos/Dark Magician and be a huge center. Or be like Revise Dragon from ZeXal, looking iconic at first but hardly really appearing again.
Toffee.
So..... Pendulum monsters have their own unique text boxes. Didn't see that coming.
Blake
So long as Pendulums are as shitty as this and Chrono, it's fine. But they won't stay that shitty.
Maeriberii Haan
What I'm worried is that they might make cards that tutor the pendulums ala E-Tele or something.
CNo.101 S.H. Death Knight
It seem their monsters effects and stats goes to show the weight where they meant to be useful in and that pendulum summon and spell effect. in the future we will have pendulum monsters whose stats and monster effect stronger than their pendulum scale and spell effects. vla1ne
Guys... what if this was how konami plans to implement the effects of the three dragons from the first series?
Maeriberii Haan
Plausible, but unlikely.
Sleepy
Speaking of Pendulum Cards I just thought The Starter Deck would be kind of a bad introduction if it only contained 2 Pendulum Cards. There ought to be at least 6 to make a decent ratio, and I say 6 as the absolute lowest, that otherwise according to personal calculations would actually be 8 to 10. (kinda like Tuners in Synchro-heavy decks) Are these 2 guys really the only Pendulums that'll be added to the Starter Deck? I also will assume at least 2-4 cards in it will be Normal Monsters from the support I've seen so far.
Ignis avis
Well both Chronomancy, and Astromancy mention an "odd-eyes" archetype. It's likely that it might be introduced alongside them either in the deck, or the power-up packs.
Neutrality Man
MOnster Effect sounds like possible Brionac restraints.
TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
Overall I think it is pretty good, all things considered, we just have to wait for the rest of them to come, and see what kinds of rulings they may get. I also like the reference with the spear.

As far as Pendulums go, for the Starter Deck, I estimate around 3 to 8 based on what they've done for the first starter decks of each series. I think they will, or atleast I hope, include about 4 lower level Pendulums and then about about 2 Higher leveled ones worthy to be summoned from the Extra Deck. And if we do get Normals, we better get better Normal support, like Faustian Bargain.
