Just Crouton
Now that the silly nostalgia trip is over... You're forced to run an objectively trash card that must be dumped from the deck by Prisma, then you cast a Spell to trash Prisma for a 2600 body that makes you discard a card to pop one face-up card per turn. So, you've lost two cards to summon this, then lost one more to destroy a card. Did I mention Dark Magician Girl is absolutely worthless if you draw it? White Void
I think my biggest problem with this card is that DMG itself is...still a completely useless card. I know it's probably blasphemy to say this but if this is going to be even remotely playable, we're going to need some kind of retrained DMG or "Proto-DMG". Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Is Prisma actually useless? Because Eye of Timaeus doesn't tribute/send the monster at activation like NEX, it targets it and then fuses.
Ultravires
Armor monsters are my number 1 wishlist thing to get from the anime. So much potential with Psychic Armor Head and Big Bang Blow... But yeah, Black up there summed it up pretty well. Nostalgia-based cards can be good, this one isn't. Same here. Armor monsters were literally the only thing that kept me watching the Doma arc. I recently found all the old Janime and Edo charts of unreleased anime-only cards that I had printed out when I was 12/13, first three pages were all the Armor monsters. That's nostalgia. Anyway all of this aside, Timaeus was easily the shittiest Dragon in the arc but it didn't matter because plot armor. Critias and Hermos have way more potential to be busted. Critias and Hermos have way more potential to be busted. Critias was easily the best, as all his Fusions were decent at worst, at least at the time, and could work independently, with the exception of Tyrant Burst Dragon. Also it was Kaiba's dragon, and that man to me had a reputation of having relatively good taste in cards. Hermos' Fusions were also cray cray effect-wise, but they needed a monster to equip to. I remember the first Hermos fusion. Even in the anime they were expecting something amazing, and it was a hammer with wings or something.

You had to be smart when using it though, as the monsters it banished come back little by little.
goddamnit names are a pain
Well it's no surprise really- considering most cover cards suck dick. Besides we knew it was going to suck when it said FUSION and DMG in the same card. Nostalgia is ok but it's not an excuse for bad cards. And yeah I'm pretty sure most of the best players were smart enough to not watch inaccurate effects, bad duelists, anime only awful plot cards, little children playing a man's card game, and duels going on for an hour just to realize how sucky the people in the anime are. The anime serves to be an anime, I'd say. I'm not watching it with the game in mind since we aren't ever getting card games on motorcycles and I can't play cards in pyramids. Goldrat is more useful than this =\ And a card can have an amazing effect but suck butt to pull off and actually use the effect. See Number 88. Ultravires
The card's not even THAT bad. Why is everyone making it seem like its as useful as Goldrat? Because it's a minus that forces you to run cards that are also minuses and it makes you minus to minus the opponent which will usually still end up with you being a minus competitively. If you wanna get technical, there is only 1 card that is always a -1 you have to play, and that's Eye. Which you can run Dragon's Mirror instead and use the materials in the grave. Its effect is also a +0, so overall the card has the potential to be a +0. Goldrat and 88 are always -2, and 88 has no effect that actually affects the field, and can't attack to be able to use said effect.

Bringing DMGDK out is a -1 if summoned as intended. Nuking things on the field has the potential to be a -1. If the absolute best you can hope for when playing a card is to net a +0 without some added bonus (see: Trap Stun etc.) there's really no counterargument to it being bad. UltimateIRS
Anyone wanna try putting this in the context of a long time ago, when it might not have been woefully outclassed?
Kazooie
Anyone wanna try putting this in the context of a long time ago, when it might not have been woefully outclassed? That doesn't matter considering that it's being MADE now and could have easily been buffed somehow. Anime cards are often nerfed and buffed when released for real. Blake
Anyone wanna try putting this in the context of a long time ago, when it might not have been woefully outclassed? Who gives a fuck? It wasn't printed "a long time ago". It's printed now. NOT making it viable for modern use in any way is a bad move on Konami's part.

This pretty much. Saying GOLDRAT is better than this? That's a bit much. Prisma makes it usable, and there is a healthy amount of Dragons that are good.
