OT: Why does IE take 5 years to open even on a decent computer?

Chrome for me as well. I heard about some kind of security weakness with IE recently, but I never looked into it because I don't use it anyway.

I use IE from time to time because that's what Steam's ingame browser defaults to. Absolute shite.

On my phone, because I cbf'd to download another browser and I hate Chrome for various reasons. Also, deleting the apps that would be sitting around taking up space (like Chrome is doing now) is a big hassle.
I use Safari on my computer.

I haven't use IE 'properly' in years, only when for some bizarre reason recently something use IE as the default browser to open.

Try to keep my dad off IE though, he's not very tech savy.

Parent's who're set on using IE are so hard to deal with. I once genuinely had to change to icon and name of a Chrome shortcut to that of Internet Explorer and they used that with no problems.

 

Just had to see "Internet" in the name.

Haven't used it since 2009/2010 (actively). Only used it after that in extreme cases when Firefox/Chrome don't work.

 

Then again, I use Linux for the most part, so don't have IE on it; use either Firefox/Chrome. I have a Windows however, but this is more reason NOT to use Internet Explorer [might explain why my computer crashed in the past].

IE used to lag so much, about as bad a FF's constant freezes when I first turn on this machine, but the latter is probably my computer's processor being silly.

I use Opera as well, but sometimes Firefox because Opera seems to freeze for a second every time I load a page in Youtube.

Zanda, that freeze happens to EVERY browser except Chrome. Google designed the most recent layout of Youtube to sync up best with Chrome y'see, in order ot get more people to use Chrome.

I used to be all about FireFox a few years back, but Chrome made me lazy with the front page shortcuts, was faster to load pages, and I started noticing FireFox is annoyingly slow at scrolling down pages.

 

Then have IE11 as well, which weirdly enough worked better than Chrome for YouTube on my computer. For some weird reason Chrome would always start a video by lagging it the first few seconds. They recently fixed it so I have no reason to turn to IE anymore.

 

Still, at least for what works for me, I can't believe I nowadays turn to IE before FF when it comes to the rare happenings of Chrome failing me.
