That's a brilliant question

really, I have no idea,

first, at times I can't stop playing, some cards make me feel good once I play them, [not that their powerful or anything connected to it, I just like them alot.] and the concept is fun.

on the other hand, it has become such a broken game, that a person that doesn't like playing shaddolls,  dragon rulers, bujins, constellar, gears, or finds no interest in these cards, basically can't advance.

and yes, on a happy [or sad] conincidence, I don't like any of them, it begins in not having interest for their play style and ends with the art that provokes basically nothing in me.

so once you're like that, you're basically doomed to wait till the tier changes or play low tier, which is very frustrating at times.

it doesnt matter if you lose at the end, you just want to play the card you love, to it's full extent. and with the current top tier you can't even play your loved card.

 

Then I found mermails, they have a nice playing style, interesting art and I can certainly settle with them. but still feel like I'm missing those badass cards I always wanted to play \:

I overall have fun, though it depends on the current game. Banlists and new releases also affect casual players, in a way, and I've had plenty of times when playing isn't fun. 

 

Though, most of my fun comes from trying to find out about interesting plays, and only really enjoy duels when they get to last due to a constant exchange of plays between both players. I don't enjoy it when I can win a game within 2 turns and my opponent gets no chance of doing much, or when one player is losing slowly without much to do despite how long it takes, or when a player just stalls out to put an alternate wins. So yeah, mostly deck-building.

 

As a TCG, I find it's potential to make interesting playing patterns and card creations very amusing.

I enjoy pitting myself against good opponents, which is why I play Rated on DN because there's the occasional good player, and at the very least playing with more equal tier Decks makes it a fairer game than Unrated half the time.

Otherwise, I just like trying out the newest cards on DN or just otherwise deck building.

As long as I feel smart while playing and not cheated or completely outclassed, I usually have fun.
