Hey guys, the wikia just got a new translation of the effect:

Cannot be Special Summoned. Requires 3 "Qliphoth" Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). If this card was Normal Summoned, it is unaffected by Spell/Trap effects and by effects activated by monsters that have lower original Levels or Ranks than this card's Level. All Special Summoned monsters on the field lose 500 ATK and DEF. Once per turn: Your opponent sends 1 monster from their side of the field or in their hand to the Graveyard.

It says that it's unaffected by the effects of monsters that are activated. So the Apoqliphoth + Majesty's Fiend lock doesn't work anymore.

Yeah, oversight when I posted it. It has the same effect the other Qliphoths do.

Took me a while to pronounce the name, but when I did, it sounded strikingly similar to "apocalypse".

Terribly fitting.

When exactly does the sending of an opponent's card happen?

It's an ignition effect. During your Main Phase, you manually activate it, then your opponent has to choose a monster to give up (or reveal they have no available monsters at all).

You don't choose to activate Gadjil, the wording says it's a mandatory effect. So I presume the translation isn't complete yet, or it activates the effect at the start of your Main Phase.

Time to manually read the card.

"③:1ターン1度、自分のメインフェイズに発動できる。相手は自身の手札・フィールドのモンスター1体を墓地へ送らなければならない。"

Bolded portion translates to "You can activate this effect during your Main Phase." This means it's an ignition effect.

If translated properly, it would then read "Once per turn: You can activate this effect; your opponent sends 1 monster they control or have in their hand to the Graveyard."

So, Majesty + Apo still works, but at least that leaves Majesty as the weak link of the combo.

And you can't even summon both in one turn without the Field.

It's not like Majesty's even matters when Jewmega Supreme here shrugs everything off. There aren't any real generic answers to Apoqliphoth. I already printed proxies of everything and played a few rounds against a couple friends who were using proxied Shaddolls and Tellarknights. This s*** is busted. The one go-to answer would have been Rebellion, but unless I have a full ATK Qliphoth on the field, he can only suck up 900 and can't make the 3500 cut-off. Star Eater is an answer, but it's not generic enough.

I've been trying to figure this out, too.

It honestly feels like the only deck I can remotely think of that can even realistically remove it, like, EVER is Yang Zing. They can drop decent sized beaters to tackle it thanks to Suanni and cards like Leo/Star Eater, even Beelze (which also helps in the Doll matchup). Sadly the send effect can f*** that up before it can do enough if they have the -3/+3 scale up and you don't have another monster to ditch. Given that you'd be summoning beelze off of Jiaotu, the latter seems pretty real...

And even then, DRXD needs BTS to work. Grante, you can BTS an 1800 Qliph and make it a 2400/2800, which is big enough, but it still means you need DRXD + BTS, which is obviously not an every hand thing. At least Lavalval Chain can dump BTS...?

I mean HEROes can search out Plasma but that seems s***.

Meanwhile, Santa Claws checks for anything blocking Special Summons, then laughs. And laughs. And laughs.

I mean, maining it seems liek worst case scenario.

Siding it is a bit more obvious.

Also,

Konami is just poking at it now.

Same stats, both bring the end in some form, both are servants of the equivalent of "God" (Nephilim the false god, Michael as basically god in the LS lore), etc.

They probably won't act so hastily yet. As awesome as the Qlip stuff is, they are still centrally reliant on Tool, as the deck has very little in inherent draw power except from their own techs. Their new equip is also pretty handy, but still is somewhat reliant on getting Tool already. Really, unless a Qlip deck is pretty lucky it will take roughly 2-3 turns before you even see this thing, as it seems to me that this card will only really be run @1-2. 3 is absurd for this card.

That 500 ATK decrease is the real killer here, though, otherwise HEROs could manage easily with Koga or Shining. Though does that decrease include monsters SS'd BEFORE this dude hits the field?

Traptrix in something can easily search the hole cards needed to eliminate the fodder, which is probably how folks are gonna have to attack this thing. Honest could do something but that's only one card so...

CLEARLY THE ANSWER HERE IS BLACKWINGS!

The fact that we have to rely on Chimeratech as an out is ridiculous in itself and not something to be lauded.

You can make Apoqliphoth on turn 1. Hand: Qliphoth Tool, Qliphothtress, Entermate Trampolynx, 2 random Qliphoths.

Activate Tool, search Disk.
Activate Trampolynx.
Pendulum Summon 2 random Qliphoths, bounce Tool.
Activate Tool, search Apoqliphoth.
Activate Qliphothtress, Normal Summon Disk.
Special Summon 2 Qliphoths from Deck.
Normal Summon Apoqliphoth.

Not that you would really want to in most cases, but it's very possible.

Hell, you can do it without Trampolynx

Hand: Qliphothtress, Saqliphoth, Qlipoth Disc, a random Qliphoth, Qlipoth Tool

Activate Tool, search a Scale 1 random Qlipoth

Activate new Scale 1 random Qliphoth

Pendulum Summon other random Qliphoth

Activate Saqlipoth

Tribute Summon Disc, search a Apoqlipoth Killer, use Disc eff

Activate Qliphothress

Tribute Summon Killer

EDIT: Repaired
