White Void
Equip only to a Normal Summoned/Set monster. It gains 1000 ATK. You take no battle damage from attacks involving it.

Delibirb
Normal Summoned/Set monster. WHAT? The Set monster this is if it was Normal Set then flipped face-up. Obviously you cant equip spells to face-downs. It's so you cant equip this to say, a Nephilim summoned by Falcon (Otherwise it would say "Normal/Flip Summoned monster.") Wildflame
Art looks kewl. Axe of Despair is better. That second part doesn't matter that much.

Seeing the term Set monster on an equip threw me off for a minute though.
Blake
The wording is really shit. Should say "a monster that was Normal Summoned or Set".
Slinky
The wording is really s***. Should say "a monster that was Normal Summoned or Set". Isn't that what the slash is for?
Expelsword
Bashing Shield? As in Shield Bash? It might just be that time... I totally haven't been waiting to use this video, why do you ask? Premier Alexander Romanov
So if a Gemini monster was Special Summoned, and then Normal Summoned to activate its effect, would it qualify to be equipped by this?
evilfusion
So if a Gemini monster was Special Summoned, and then Normal Summoned to activate its effect, would it qualify to be equipped by this? I believe so, as it would be treated as being Normal Summoned (to apply its effect).
Thomas★Zero
Yeah this card more so should of stated... "You can only equip this card to a monster that was originally Normal Summoned or Set" ...then it would of made a lot more sense about how you would use this card, I mean its not like were getting face-down attack position monsters becoming a thing right >_>;;
Blake
Isn't that what the slash is for?No because it, as is, says it can be equipped to a set monster, despite the wording not saying such. The slash has nothing to do with anything, though it could obviously be used in place of or.
Toffee.
So..... We went from Axe of Dispair, to Axe of Fools, to This? Interesting transition, and I like the damage protection it has, though the condition makes it come off as silly
Expelsword
Equip cards cannot be equipped to set monsters. Don't tell me the almighty Black doesn't know that...
Blake
Equip cards cannot be equipped to set monsters. Don't tell me the almighty Black doesn't know that...Who cares what I know? A new player wouldn't know that. Calling my knowledge of basic mechanics into question in that sense just shows you for the shitposter you are. ~Faytl~
This seems really worthless. I mean, Axe of Despair is better than this, and Axe of Despair is awful.

No, I think everyone talking about the wording being "horrible" when the card's function is obvious to anyone with passing knowledge of the game is a waste of time. Blake
No, I think everyone talking about the wording being "horrible" when the card's function is obvious to anyone with passing knowledge of the game is a waste of time.So you're, as usual, just posting to call someone out when they don't deserve it (like callign out phil for not being 100 posts+) and add nothing of value to the conversation? The wording IS horrible. Yes, any competent player understands that it can't equip to FD mons. This changes nothing that it is not good wording because a new player wouldn't understand that. And that's wrong, because cards should not require extra knowledge of wordings and rulings to be understandable.
Expelsword
"Extra" knowledge? That's in the rulebook. Do you mean to tell me people play games without reading even the basic rules?
Azuh
Why is this so bad? It should at least boost DEF or at least 1200 ATK, right now its just outclassed
White Void
"Extra" knowledge? That's in the rulebook. Do you mean to tell me people play games without reading even the basic rules? In all fairness, the rules also state that individual cards override the basic rules when an effect seemingly goes against them. Yeah, everyone knows that you can't equip set monsters but the lazy wording is inconsistent with the standard wording for such a clause for no real reason whatsoever. TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
Clearly a reference to overkill shield and bash mechanics in medieval games. Balanced, but not really that useful, imho.
Toffee.
Hey guys, why are we Basing, this Shield?- *shot several times*Looking at this card's condition again... It's not THAT bad. I mean, it lets you boost something and then have a monster that technically doesn't fear cards like Honest/etc, but again, because Axe of Despair is a card, the later gives you a hell of a lot more millage. Expelsword
And the problem with Axe of Despair is that it's also essentially outdated by United We Stand, or equips that actually have a useful second effect.
