Toffee.
When this card is Summoned: You can add 1 "Batteryman" monster from your Deck to your hand, and if you do, this card's ATK and DEF become double its original ATK and DEF. You can only use this effect of "Batteryman 9-Volt" once per turn. During your End Phase: Destroy this card.Gee, a searcher that can be trigger by any means that also has an Archetype/support/etc that can always make This card live, and push it's Deck into the realms of being a threat. Wonder where I've seen that before...Discuss.

goddamnit names are a pain
i have yet to try these, but i don't really like their style Don't like as in….? They play fairly darn good and simple, if you ask me. It was fun to see this inspiring people to actually play Batterymen (like the silly ones), among other things. This card is really good. I do like seeing Supply Squad or whatever used to turn this into a search and draw, if you choose not to Xyz with it right away.

vla1ne
It's actually pretty good balance wise(at least in comparison to what konami has been putting out recently). it has a hard OPT clause that prevents constant abuse, and the 2000 jump helps it battle, but it really isn't all too big of a deal overall since if you aren't going to XYZ with it, it'll still die during the end phase(yes supply unit, but that's not really too big of a deal in this deck). Got 3 of them Saturday and it added some more consistency to the deck. it's undoubtedly a strong addition, but even with it, the deck itself isn't even tier 2. rogue worthy? Yes, but not tournament dominating. I wouldn't be too surprised to see somebody get into a top spot at least once using some variant the deck, but higher than that is just hoping for a miracle. Lonk
This card's really stupid in design. At first glance, it might look innocent, but it has very unhealthy interactions with Charger and Micro-Cell. Drawing into Stormforth and Charger gives everything the Deck needs to OTK because of 9-Volt's existence. It's stupid, and Batteryman do not deserve to have access to consistent OTK power given to it by 9-V.
Airride
What are you referring to here? Probably Madolches (Anjelly), HEROes (Stratos/Mist), etc... Lots of archetypes do that.

Do you know what card is a problem in the above equation? it's Short circuit. that's the card that can lead to 3+ possible 3000 monsters staring at you across your empty field. 9v can easily lead to an otk worthy combo, but Short is the card that makes the combo live from almost any angle. and yes, I admit that I abuse SC like no tomorrow. Azuh
Weren't Batterymen always designed to be an OTK deck anyway?
vla1ne
yeah, they were. but their main use changed around the advent of Xyz monsters. they still had the potential, but now it'd be more common to see hybrid decks using hunders instead of dedicated otks. I actually prefer it that way since the deck really needed something to it's name besides "OTK Attempt!"
Toffee.
Weren't Batterymen always designed to be an OTK deck anyway? To be specific, it was mostly to set off Short Circuit. But yes, given the nature of cards like AA/etc, you could easily get high ATK monsters and then drop Circuit for game.

Short Circuit isn't searchable though (thank god for that), but 9v literally turns the Deck into a 2-card OTK rather than a 4-card one like you listed. Decks should not have the ability to OTK off of just two cards in the hand. Charger is also problematic as well, though.
Daigusto Sphreez
Pretty balanced compared to some deck searchers, and yes it helps OTK'ing but it's not as if Batterymen have very many level 4 or lower monsters worth running, so it sure as hell was needed. They just need a batteryman with a foolish burial effect now and they'll be truly amazing.

Apart from the atk boost, 9v is pretty much a basic searcher, it doesn't break the deck, but it's still a useful addition in terms of consistency. that's about as much as any deck can ask for. Charger is at the same level as a boss monster in terms of problems it can cause if allowed to go off. but it's problem ability only activates upon tribute summon, while it's second ability just allows it to solo cyber dragons unless you've already pulled some sort of advantage. As long as SC remains unsearchable, and no new battery searchers/draw power is released, the deck is going to remain a possible rogue threat, but not strong enough to take a regional. You mean you aren't familiar with Stormforth --> Charger --> 9v --> Fuel Cell --> Industrial Strength/Fuel Cell? Because that is a quick and consistent OTK. Because that is a quick and consistent OTK. You just listed a 3 card OTK. And Charger really isn't that consistent, they're dead in your hand a lot of the time. Plus your opponent will usually have answers, unless they're also playing an otk deck in which case that's the risk they take. The card is good, but the deck doesn't have enough consistency to be tier 1/1.5.

Because that is a quick and consistent OTK. That comb doesn't usually work early game, you still would need at least 2 batterymen to drop industrial (and maybe 1 other thunder if you plan on using his effect). replace the industrial with another fuel cell and it would be a bit better, but you'd then have the issue of having nothing to cover your own monsters in return if the combo falls through. maybe you'd have veiler, SC, or battle fader to reduce the risk, but that's still a heavy gamble. As they are now, I think batterymen with the addition of 9v might be better as a grind game deck. they can set up strong offenses to go for the win fast with a good starting hand, but their defensive and replenishing ability from early to mid game (thanks to Micro/9v/AAA ) is where I think they are actually going to be underestimated for a while. (GigaDrillBreaker)
I can speak as one of the players on this site that has used 9v the most. This card is degenerate. No, the decks that it enables are not too terribly powerful, may they be some silly batterymanotk.dek or Black & my Hunder builds (actually these are pretty good). That does not make this a well-designed card. It searches, it beats face, and it even enables supply unit. Unlike stratos, you can run 3 of this, and they are easily summoned by Battery Charger. They are the single best card in virtually every deck they go in, and add cohesion to builds that are lacking for consistency. This level of power is bad for the game. of course, I still love this card to pieces.

JadenxAtemYAOI
So why don't Batteryman see much usage then? I'm looking at some of the cards and an easy 3x 3K beatsticks and defenses is really good.
vla1ne
So why don't Batteryman see much usage then? I'm looking at some of the cards and an easy 3x 3K beatsticks and defenses is really good. because they're really easy to underestimate right now. the deck has always been really bad at consistency, but it's also been really strong offensively. not many people play them now but a lot of the ones i know (including me) are pretty much overhyped at a new card that allows for more consistent plays. i will admit the atk jump and the end phase destruction aren't really necessary though. I've lost a few times because kept making large plays while forgetting 9v kills itself at my end phase (so i lose the defense). I've stopped doing that accidentally, but it's still pretty annoying at times when you have to make a 9v play without a backup plan.
Ultravires
This and Micro-Cell are nuts. I'd never even read any Batteryman cards and still won locals this past weekend with Batteryfacts against multiple meta decks and several rogues including the deck's worst match-up. Match-ups were 2 Shaddoll Chaos, 1 Shaddoll Artifact, 2 Tellarknight, 2 Burning Abyss, 1 Evilswarm, 1 Fire King and 1 Constellar. Only loss in Swiss was against Constellar due to bricking against turn 1 Pleiades both games. Both of my other rogue match-ups were terrible match-ups for me but I still managed to get over 6 Ophion and 2 Vanity's within 2 games and Volca'd a Garunix in time to bring him to 0. Bringerofcake
This card is insane. Just ran a really bad version (no units or Artifacts, chalice instead of BTS because I'm broke) and it OTK'd Sylvan twice, decked out Yang Zing and was really close to killing Shaddoll. Stormforth -> Charger -> 9-V -> Fuel Cell is the nuts.
