~British Soul~
Happy Yubel Day YCM Any time you Fusion Summon a monster this turn, you can remove from play, from your side of the field, Deck, hand or Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on the Fusion Monster Card, and use them as Fusion Material Monsters. You cannot attack during the turn this card is activated. If you used this effect for a Fusion Summon, the Summoned Fusion Monster is destroyed during the End Phase. Such bad design, discuss? (GigaDrillBreaker)
Hey, remember that Gustaph OTK deck? That thing was hilarious. Anyway, this card confuses me as a tcg player. In a game like magic, it would be freaking cool, and i would love it. In YGO, this shit is just dumb.
Spinny
Just summon a Brilliant lady diamond with this and then use her to tribute your stuff for fusions that wont destroy during the end phase, sorted.
CLG Klavier
No, it's not a fucking bad design in the slightest. It has so many limits on itself that it's hard to use it for anything broken. It enables stuff, but it doesn't enable stupid stuff like Lavalval Chain since it's very limited and restrictive. It's not. A bad. Design.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
No, it's not a f***ing bad design in the slightest. It has so many limits on itself that it's hard to use it for anything broken. It enables stuff, but it doesn't enable stupid stuff like Lavalval Chain since it's very limited and restrictive. It's not. A bad. Design. Agreed. The card had literally one use. Admittedly, that one use was absurd, but the card itself was fine.
CLG Klavier
Only use on top of my head is Vehicroid Connection Zone, but... ...Vehicroids? Really?
(GigaDrillBreaker)
There was a deck that used it with fusion gate to summon gustaph max 4 times in one turn and win.
~British Soul~
There was a deck that used it with fusion gate to summon gustaph max 4 times in one turn and win. I remember that deck, using Electrum to recycle your resources to do all that again, ofc that OTK wasn't even that great anyway.
CLG Klavier
Oh, so it ran Electrum. Tell me again how threatening and gamebreaking that deck was that exploited the horrible design of this card?
Blake
No, it's not a f***ing bad design in the slightest. It has so many limits on itself that it's hard to use it for anything broken. It enables stuff, but it doesn't enable stupid stuff like Lavalval Chain since it's very limited and restrictive. It's not. A bad. Design.Yes it is.It enables multiple F/OTKs (bubble Illusion was used for terrible FTKs) that exist due to it. Even bad ones you've never heard of, like Aero Shark OTK.It had Gustaph OTK. It had Blaze Fenix OTK (pls note that Blaze Fenix is an even worse design). The only "legitimate" uses it has ever had are Destiny End Dragoon turbo and Vehicroids. Other than that, every time it's been seen, it's been used in an F/OTK.I'm sure that it's only gotten more absurd with time, but it enables broken combos. In-and-of themselves, Gustaph (not the best design, but not overly problematic. Shouldn't exist, but not the issue here), E-HERO Electrum (and the Omni-HEROs), and Fusion Gate are fine. However, when you add Chain Material to the cocktail, it starts to loop into an OTK. Same with Aero Shark over Gustaph, but I forget how exactly that FTK went, and it was much worse than the other variants of Chain Material OTK.You can say that the design isn't bad, but when it has OTK after OTK with cards that otherwise couldn't loop into an OTK (so barring blaze fenix basically), it was badly designed. Restrictions don't mean anything if it enables a burn OTK, and it was designed in a loose way that allows that to happen. You can go infinite with it. If it had restricted DAMAGE that turn, it'd be much better... but it just cut off attacks. It was designed poorly because it's a card that punishes the player for using it for most any non-OTK purpose.Oh, so it ran Electrum. Tell me again how threatening and gamebreaking that deck was that exploited the horrible design of this card?Um. It was the most dreaded OTK of its time because it was so stupid to play against. The fact that it didn't immediately damage the gamestate is in no way an argument that the design isn't bad. Maeriberii Haan
Is it just me, or the thread reeks on parody, or at least, at first? On topic, Electrum OTK was stupid because it was consistent enough to be a threat back then. And this card's...idk would answer with something but that'll just fanning the flames at this point.
