(1) When this card is Tribute Summoned: Target 1 card on the field; banish it, then inflict 1000 damage to your opponent's Life Points. If the banished card is a DARK monster, the controller of that card must banish the card of the same name of that card from their hand, Deck, Extra Deck and Graveyard. If this card is Tribute Summoned by Tributing a DARK monster, add this additional effects; this effect that can be targeted cards become 2 cards. If it was a DARK, you banish a card of the same name from...uh...anywhere it might be. And if you Tribute Summoned it using a DARK monster, you can hit 2 cards (but I assume only 1000 burn). That's just sweet for Monarchs in general. Is it the best Mega Monarch? Hmm...I like to say Mobius is the best Mega Monarch just because of the Frog engine making its added effect nearly guaranteed, but this thing is SO cool. Despite Japan being inexperienced with BA, this is pretty much an open weapon already granted at their exposure. With the correlation to the meta and all, as well as combining some crazy banish effects, this could possibly be main deck/staple material. OT: That moment when you realize that ALL of the Monarchs' save-my-ass cards (Gorz, Trag, to even Battle Fader and Jackfrost) are DARK. It's really good against DARK Decks, obviously, but against other Decks it's just moar Mega Raiza in the sense that Raiza is moar Caius. Well, this is better against backrow, but Mega Raiza stacks for days. But then again, you have plenty of DARKs, whereas Mega Raiza only has Raiza. I think I read somewhere that some of the cards were hinting about Caius trying to rule/ruling the Dark Worlds or something along those lines. So, him "eating" Grapha seems fitting. We don't know really, the lore didn't explain it. The only reason we know about the Elemental Monarchs getting their upgrades by killing Dragon Rulers is Tewart talking about it and the art being an obvious tell.
