Malacoda, Netherlord of the Burning Abyss
DARK/Fiend – Ritual – Effect/6/2700/2200
You can Ritual Summon this card with “Good & Evil in the Burning Abyss”. Must be Ritual Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, during either player’s turn: You can send one “Burning Abyss” monster from your hand to the Graveyard, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; until the end of this turn, that target loses ATK and DEF equal to the ATK and DEF of the “Burning Abyss” monster sent to the Graveyard this way. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can target 1 card on the field; send it to the Graveyard.

If they add a Fusion Monster to the "Burning Abyss"archtype, they have all ingredients to summon "Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth"; not that they gain any benefit from it though. Should a Fusion Monster be released for the series, I expect it to be named something along the lines of "Geryon, ... of the Burning Abyss". "Geryon" supposedly has multiple heads (something which is fitting for a Fusion Monster), and is appearantly mentioned in the book on which the archtype is based.

Since "Burning Abyss" is a tad Fiend-Type based, they might get away with a "Djinn of Rituals" or two. Even if its Ritual Spell does not allow those cards to be used, you can also opt to run "Contract with the Burning Abyss". Unfortunatly this card has a Special Summoning restriction, otherwise "Cir, Malebrance of the Burning Abyss" could revive him(/her?). Only time will tell whehter or not its Ritual Spell does anything special.

Also, what do you make out of the Red and Blue swords it is holding? Pendulum monsters will be counter productive for the archtype, but these colors lately imply a relation to Pendulum Monsters. In any case, it seems like a nice monster for the archtype.

Koko and I already knew they'd at least get a fusion, we just weren't sure of Rituals.

The TCG, OCG, and supposed KCG all have a deck with this niche.

The TCG has burning abyss to summon all 4 types, thus not pendulum.

OCG has DDD.

KCG has Lovecraft

TCG has hell, OCG has alternate hell, and KCG has madness and shit.

Anyone else thinks 2700 ATK a bit too high for a Level6, even if it is a Ritual?

I like how they made this a Fiend to stick with the "BA Fiends go in the main deck, BA Warriors in the Extra" theme.

I'm surprised the didn't give this a hand-Trap effect like the latest Rituals the Necloths. I was expecting for that perk to become a standard for the Rituals from the new era.

I personally think that 2700 ATK is fine for its level, mostly because it's a Ritual. It hinges on how easily the Ritual Spell lets it get out. But now that you mention that it is a fiend, I am curious to see what the Fusion Monster would be. I cannot think of any warriors that would fit the fusion criteria, but perhaps the Pope in the Divine Comedy?

It'd be Beatrice imo, and her materials will be 2 BA monsters.
