You can change this card to Defense Position. If you do: You can target 1 "The Phantom Knights" monster you control; it gains 800 ATK until the end of this turn.

If you control a Level 3 "The Phantom Knights" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand).

2 Level 3 monsters
When this card leaves the field: You can Special Summon all the monsters that were attached to this card as Xyz Materials, but their Level become 4.

[/spoiler]

Now Yuto officially has more Main Deck Monsters than Shun :/

So basically, Boots can SS itself alongside more copies (or Robe); go into Break Sword (or whatever 2-mat R3 you want). Neat.

If Sword dies, the materials return and become Level 4 for setup for Dark Rebellion or something.

Honestly, I'm liking Yuto more now because of this; at least he HAS a new Main Deck strategy as opposed to his rapidly-getting bland partner.

I'm over my problem with Shun, because he kicked Sora's ass; as he had ostensibly been training for his entire life. He had the strategy, and he dominated the fight. Yuzu should take note - that's how you deal with Fusions, or really, anything, 'cause he had generic counter traps that are way better than a lot of stuff we've seen from everyone else.

You know, if Shun was Aichi, he would have lost that game.

As long as he never plays Dimension Xyz again...

Break Sword is too good though.

I can't take those materials seriously as phantoms, they remind me too much of this character:

Otherwise cool strategy. Yuto is essentially making his second turn without using a single card from his hand.

Though IRL he would have still Summoned something just to get more of a hit going on. He would have pretty much won that turn.

I like how they focus on a sort of ATK boost (the Trap Monster included). I kinda expected the Trap Monster's +300 ATK effect there when Bear attacked, but I guess that'd be too one-sided?

The two main deck ones remind me of this guy from Digimon.

Yuto seems like he's softer than Shun, he isn't in this duel to massacre his opponent. That's apparently also why he didn't use Xyz Dragon's effect twice before attacking Bear which would have done more damage (both Sora and Yuya were surprised by that).

Yuto has previously shown, via flashback, that he hates hurting people; hence, his approach in this duel is in-character IMO.

It often can be considered a plot hole when a character could win, but doesn't. However, sometimes it can simply be that character playing smarter than "win at first chance".

Sora had a Set card. If Yuto used both of Xyz Dragon's Overlay Units, and his move got countered, he'd be left vulnerable. We as the audience know the card wouldn't have stopped the attack, and Sora'd lose if Xyz Dragon did use both, but the characters don't know this for certain.

Anyway...I really like these, if only because it expands on Yuto's vague strategy, and shows he has other Xyz than Dark Rebellion.

It's very similar to Nasch using Abyss Splash's effect only once against Vector; be probably felt it was likely Vector could stop his attack and wanted a counter handy in case. Though that partly depends on what. Yuto's sets are. (Incidentally, I hope Hikokubo has dropped that thing where he has players set cards and then forgets about them.)
