Pendulum Effect You cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Qli" monsters. This effect cannot be negated. All "Qli" monsters you control gain 300 ATK.

Monster Effect You can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. If this card is Normal Summoned without Tributing or is Special Summoned, its Level becomes 4 and its original ATK becomes 1800. If this card is Normal Summoned/Set, it is unaffected by activated effects from any monster whose original Level/Rank is lower than this card's current Level. When this card is Tribute Summoned by Tributing a "Qli" monster(s): You can target 1 card on the field; return it to the hand. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this effect's activation.

More SECE english links, and this is now an Ultra, discuss?

Only just got back into the game and hadn't seen this card before, but from what I can tell it's really good, mostly because of its versatility. Clearing your opponent's field for a push or bouncing your own Scout for an extra search means it will always be useful and can really help push for game.

The spanish name can be translated to "Qlifort Sneaky/Stealth Plane" or something like that; dunno how "Alias" turned into that name. Pointing it out because I found it silly.

Now that I looked at other spanish names, "Access" became "Cephalopod"; most likely because of its appearance but it still looks like a a random rename. And apparently the rest of the names are more accurate translations.

Anyways. I forgot about this card's pseudo-Spell Speed 4; that makes it more dangerous than I thought. I assume that if you chain Helix/Carrier as CL 1 and this as CL 2, the opponent wouldn't be able to respond to either effects?

Correct. This makes it strong in the Abyss matchup where chainable Traps abound, and against Pleiades.

I think from the tops I've seen in OCG, people even reduced Disk to 1, just to max this at times.

This card's case seems to be even stronger in TCG with BA still around.

The fact that you can get 3 Tool searches per turn alongside unchainable removal from helix/carrier is huge, alongside this card's many, many other uses.

so, mask of restrict anyone?

Definitely. Does it stop nekroz from tributing as well?

Why do people keep coming back to mask of restrict

this conversation has been had time and again, and it's always the same. It's still shit.

Nothing has changed. Qliphorts still have Pendulum Summoning (and Skill Drain/Reqliphort) and Nekroz still have Exomirror's banishing and Kaleido.

This does not do near enough and should not be used, and this has not changed since the last time it was discussed.

Making an opponent have to rely on getting out there skill drain/reqli isnt terrible, and if the opponent cant tribute in the first place then Nekroz are literally screwed because i dont know how they would get enough levels in the graveyard in the first place.

Nekroz aren't screwed because Kaleidomirror doesn't tribute from the Extra Deck.

it's partially also a joke, because we all know mask of restrict is bad, and I was alluding to the fact that we don't have a reasonable answer to qilphort plays right now very much at all. if they get off a tribute, everything just goes down hill from there, and forces the need for meta decks against them.

you can't have fun with qilphorts
