The Яeverse Collection [10/?]

Recommended Posts

In case you are unfamiliar:
http://cardfight.wikia.com/wiki/Яeverse
Basically, the idea for this collection is to create Link Joker evolutions of various boss and ace monsters. They will have similar stats as their original counterparts, or stats referencing other forms, except being one Rank higher than the original Level or Rank, and can be Xyz Summoned generically, or CXC onto their original selves. They will also have an emphasis on banishing cards face-down, but will automatically be returned during the opponent's End Phase, to mimic the Lock effect of their CF!V contemporaries. And I will take requests on what to create a Яeverse version of.
LIGHT/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/Rank 9/3000 ATK/2500 DEF
2 or more Level 9 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Blue-Eyes White Dragon".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Level 8 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish all monsters your opponent controls face-down until their next End Phase. If this card has "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● When this card declares an attack: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, except the attack target; banish it face-down until their next End Phase.

DARK/Spellcaster/Xyz/Effect/Rank 8/2500 ATK/2100 DEF
2 or more Level 8 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Dark Magician".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Level 7 "Dark Magician" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish all Spell/Trap Cards your opponent controls face-down until their next End Phase. If this card has "Dark Magician" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can target 1 Set card on the field; banish it face-down until its owner's next End Phase.

LIGHT/Warrior/Xyz/Effect/Rank 8/2500 ATK/2000 DEF
2 or more Level 8 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Elemental HERO Neos".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Level 7 "Elemental HERO Neos" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish all Spell/Trap Cards your opponent controls face-down until your opponent's next End Phase. If this card has "Elemental HERO Neos" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; banish it face-down until its owner's next End Phase, and, if you do, this card gains the effect(s) of the banished monster.

WIND/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/Rank 9/2500 ATK/2000 DEF
2 or more Level 9 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Stardust Dragon".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Level 8 "Stardust Dragon" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that would destroy a card(s) on the field: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation, and if you do, banish it face-down. If this card has "Stardust Dragon" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● This card's maximum number of attacks per Battle Phase equals the number of cards that are banished face-down.

LIGHT/Warrior/Xyz/Effect/Rank 5/2500 ATK/2000 DEF
2 or more Level 5 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Number 39: Utopia".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 4 "Utopia" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. During your opponent's Battle Phase, when one of your opponent's monsters declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish the attacking monster face-down until your next End Phase. If this card has "Number 39: Utopia" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● When this card declares an attack on a face-up monster your opponent controls: You can detach 3 Xyz Materials from this card; negate that opponent's face-up monster's effects, also your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step, then, this card gains ATK equal to that opponent's monster's ATK, and the opponent's monster's ATK becomes 0, during damage calculation only.

DARK/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/Rank 8/2800 ATK/2000 DEF
2 or more Level 8 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Odd-Eyes Dragon".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Level 7 "Odd-Eyes Dragon" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. This card gains 300 ATK for every card that is banished face-down. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the original ATK of that monster in the Graveyard, then, banish it face-down. If this card has "Odd-Eyes Dragon" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can target up to 2 Pendulum Monsters in your opponent's Pendulum Zones; banish the target(s) face-down until your opponent's next End Phase.

EARTH/Machine/Xyz/Effect/Rank 8/2600 ATK/2500 DEF
2 or more Level 8 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Machina Fortress".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Level 7 "Machina Fortress" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle, or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard while it has Xyz Material: You can target up to 2 cards they control; banish them face-down, then you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card has "Machina Fortress" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can banish 1 random card from your opponent's hand face-down until their next End Phase.

DARK/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/Rank 8/2800 ATK/1000 DEF
2 or more Level 8 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Diabolos, King of the Abyss".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using an "Diabolos, King of the Abyss" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish all monsters with 1500 ATK or less from your opponent's hand, side of the field, and Graveyard face-down until your opponent's next End Phase. If this card has "Diabolos, King of the Abyss" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Your opponent cannot Tribute monsters they control for the Summoning of monsters or the effects of cards they control. Once per turn: You can banish the top card of your opponent's Deck face-down until the End Phase.

WIND/Dragon/Xyz/Effect/Rank 8/3000 ATK/2000 DEF
2 or more Level 8 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Armed Dragon LV7".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using an "Armed Dragon LV7" you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; banish all face-up monsters your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to the detached Xyz Material's ATK. If this card has "Armed Dragon LV7" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● Once per turn: You can target 1 "LV" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.

DARK/Fairy/Xyz/Effect/Rank 2/300 ATK/200 DEF
2 or more Level 2 monsters
(This card's name is always treated as "Kuriboh".)
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Level 1 "Kuriboh" monster you control as the Xyz Material. Cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon. Once per turn You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next End Phase, then, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its current ATK. If this card has "Kuriboh" as an Xyz Material, it gains this effect.
● This card cannot be destroyed by battle. You do not take any damage.
Discuss, please help me with any OCG regarding these experimental effects, and suggest any monsters you want to see Яeversed.

So it's like DARK counterparts/Lightrays except that they retain their original attributes and +1 Level/Rank. I like the concept, but not a fan of how they require their original counterparts for the summon as that makes them more complicated to play. How about turning them into Synchros, Xyzs or even Fusions (possibly contact Fusions)? For Xyzs, the Rank could be equal to the Level of the original monster, so you can actually use the original monster as material. They could be generic as well, to make them even more splashable, but gain additional effect(s) if the original monster is used as material. Just a couple of ideas.

ЯDM's effect looks fine, but BEЯD could use a couple of fixes:

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand or Graveyard) by Tributing 1 Level 8 "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" you control. When this card declares an attack: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, except the attack target; change the target to face-down Defense Position. While this card is face-up on the field, any monster that was changed to face-down Defense Position by this card's effect cannot be targeted for an attack, also its battle position cannot be changed, except by the effect of a "Яeverse" card. During your opponent's next End Phase: Change any monsters whose battle position was changed to face-down Defense Position by this card's effect back to its original position before it was changed to face-down Defense Position (Flip Effects are not activated at this time).

As for suggestions of cards to be Яeversed, for now I would like to see Diabolos and Machina Fortress/Megaform.

Hmmmm.... Rather interesting. I'm not sure quite how viable this whole idea is, but it is quite a notable one, and it seems like everyone is trying to move Vanguard mechanics into YGO, so I guess this is only supporting that. The effects are interesting, and seem quite good, especially Magician. With Blue Eyes though, if the only monsters on the field were flipped by its effect, can the other monsters you control not attack or do they attack directly? That affects a lot of its viability, and is a flaw of these in general. They would have to be worth it, so maybe give something to make such cards accessible?

As for requests, as per my member title, I wouldn't mind seeing ЯAD anytime soon.

You could be pro with Dark Magician and make it a quick effect that also negates the effect of any card you are going to Set.
I mean, right now it's just good against things that are already in effect and/or already killing you, when being good against those and other cards in general would be a lot better.
Just sayin'

Thanks for the suggestions, and the errata'd text.
I think I will meet you halfway, because you have a valid point. These wouldn't really work for Xyzs, but making the entire set Xyz Monsters, which are already linked to extradimensionality, would be a great idea. How about they are 1 Rank higher than their original version's Level/Rank, so we can have some CXC-like stuff from the Xyz Monsters? That way, they can be Xyz Summoned normally, or CXC onto their original selves, gaining an additional effect, or losing that additional effect for a single-use effect that, if summoned normally, would have more uses.
Modifying the existing cards, and adding in some new ones.

Again, I'm going to combine two ideas together. One of the most terrifying things in Yu-Gi-Oh! nowadays is banishing a card face-down. Unless the effect itself lets you recover the card, you can't. Ever. It's gone for the rest of the game. It's a perfect analogue for Locking. And I'm going to have my Яeverse cards use this mechanic.
The Яeverse versions of the remaining protagonists' ace monsters are up. The rest of the requests will be available in the morning.

Reverse Kuriboh two Stroonk. Fr tho... I like this idea... As for the Kuriboh card tho... it can actually be a game changer (Banish huge boss for a whole cycle, inflict massive damage)... makes me want to run him.

Also I'd like to say that Odd-Eyes Dragon doesn't support pends... but Odd Eyes Pend Does... saying this for flavor purposes I suppose.

Banishing cards face down...one major effect I forgot when I mentioned the Ghostricks to you last.

Though looking through it, I noticed Odd Eyes Reverse. Were you just planning on using the first Odd Eyes instead of Odd Eyes Pendulum for this to work? Just curious...

Either way, its looking like a great set...currently in love with Neos Reverse!

Well, I could make it so you can't conduct your Battle Phase that turn instead, if that works to balance it.
Also, I took elements from all of the Odd-Eyes cards for my Яeversed Odd-Eyes.

Yeah. I realized I could've just combined my two ideas into banishing face-down, one of the most vile things to do to a card in the game nowadays.
And yes, Odd-Eyes Яeverse needs the original, because it doesn't get enough love. Saber tried to fix that, and failed spectacularly.
So, any requests as to what I should give the Яeverse treatment to next?

Ahhh, that's definitely understandable then!

As for requests...some Masked HEROs would be interesting to see. As well as Rainbow Dragon...why? Because of reasons! XD
