Revolving Switchyard

If a Level 10 EARTH Machine-Type monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to your side of the field (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 EARTH Machine-Type monster with 1800 or more ATK from your Deck, and if you do, its Level becomes 10. If you activated this effect, your opponent takes no further battle damage this turn. You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard; add 1 Level 10 EARTH Machine-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use 1 "Revolving Switchyard" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

So, since most probably we're getting this deck in World Superstars, thoughts? Losing Vanities and Skill Drains is a kick in the wheels, but I don't think it's a huge issue. They were good, but they weren't the core.

*shuffles papers* I believe I can be of service in this discussion.

Contrary to popular believe, Skill Drain/Vanity's DON'T make this deck really good (Trains). In terms of plays and how you build the deck, I'd rate it with decent consistency (the field spell suitably nicknamed "Train Ravine" makes the deck so), and with STRONG versatility. With access to monsters like Dora, Gustav, Gangaridai, and C9; there aren't many decks this one doesn't have an answer to. If we were to get the Trains in World Superstars (we won't), there's a CHANCE they could hit the meta hard. It's a really good deck that can go toe-to-toe with the meta (its only weak match-up being Nekroz during January 2015 if you built them right).

But, there's some things to consider. I've been following the Train tops in the OCG pretty closely, and the OCG builds... all sucked. At least by my standard. If the general OCG player's build was terrible, I don't have high hopes for the TCG (I've also helped/seen people try to build them many times with... very mixed results. It's a strong deck with a lot of potential, but only in the right hands.

As one person has said "Trains aren't high in the meta; but they're good enough to hang with the meta."

On the bright side, Skill Drain is limited here, and likely won't be coming off soon, so this deck won't be as strong when it gets here.

Volcanic Trains aside.

Could just be pro and tech it regardless.

there's a CHANCE they could hit the meta hard.

"Chance" is such a stretch.
Trains.dek is a gimmicky deck anyway, and the Meta tends to disagree with stuff like that.

You know... Part of me still wishes Train support could be more consistent, like This card.
I mean, Special Schedule, realistically, just has 1 Target; Knight. Sure, you can Revive the Xyzs, but you can't exactly go on the offensive right away like you can with Knight, because then you could Summon something from the Deck with This card/etc and make an Attack Position Dora/etc with Materials.
'Course, you could be pro and play Final Attack Orders. You Attack into something in defense -> its forced into attack mode/etc.
