Thoughts and feelings on Clownblade

Recommended Posts

For anyone who doesnt know, the word clownblade comes from thousand blades and entermate trick clown. If TB is in the grave and you send clown you get to SS clown for a small cost of taking 1000 damage. This triggers TB and BAM two free level 4s.

So my thoughts on it? I don't like how effortless this makes getting 2 level 4s out. It sets up for planetellar way too damn easily and as long you have another level 4 to normal you pretty much have one of the most if not THE most effortless way to get Cyber Dragon Infinity out.

Now besides that I don't mind it that much, it seems very easy to get around and #80 kills this strat (or it least halts it until another clown hits the grave).

Tl:dr: Its cancerous when trying to make infinity, fair otherwise. #80 puts dents in this.

So what are your thoughts on it?

If one actually looks at OCG results, they would realize that this isn't the broke shit some people on this site make it out to be. It is a cool, non-archetypal yet still decent rogue deck.

For the record, OCG doesn't have the unhit Seraph Engine, either, which is where it's expected to shine.

OCG also HAS Dark Law and Dark Law/CDI.

There's no point in comparing the OCG's accelerated gamestate to the TCG like that.

That said, I adore playing it. It has so many fucking ways to OTK.

Clownblade-S is a completely different story from the actual deck.

Clownblade-S is a completely different story from the actual deck.

It's a different variant, one with a lot more potential.

Clownblade in and of itself is stil lvery strong, just in a hostile environment for it. No Tier 0 deck, but a strong one.

To be honest, it feels like Clownblade is reminiscent to the HAT era in retrospect. Combinding cards that aren't tied down to archetypes is good for the game honestly

I feel the same, but there's something in this particular combo that I can't get myself to like..., maybe it's because of my dislike of clowns.

You all act as if Rank 4 spam hasn't existed in the past.

Noble Knight Gawain + E Hero Neos Alius = good Rank 4 + set up for miracle fusion

Satellar.

Constellar for that matter

Verz

all but Tellar that you mentioned is terrible

Clownblade has the distinction of a million and 1 OTKs, as well as the potential to be the best horse for Star Seraphs. It's not incredibly comparable to Tellars, because the way it tackles R4 is different, so even that point falls flat.

And it also will probably never exist

honestly, I really feel like that's you assuming too much of the TCG. The deck doesn't have CDI or Shock Master over here, so a hit to Seraphs or lol Blades sounds incredibly unlikely. We'll find out in a few weeks of the deck will exist, and I highly doubt that it wont.

Case in point. Also, there is still a decent chance that the engine will get hit, despite it not having as a great a showing over here than it did in the ocg. Having strictly worse extra deck options does pull away from the deck's greatest potential, though.

Also, lack of Utopia + Lightning hurts as well.

deck having worse options and deck not existing aren't the same things, and it seems more likely they'd leave Seraphs one-tact for at least a format to sell them than to hit Seraphs.

The lack of those surely hurts, but Noden (later in the format) mitigates that, and Amaterasu/Delteros/Ouroboros is pretty strong on its own. I won't proclaim it to be T0 or anything like others, I just think it has a lot of potential, and that the TCG is unlikely to pre-emotive let hit it.

Not that anyone might care, but... I like how Clownblade makes Hermos' cards playable. I mean, Time Hammer/Rocket Cannon/Goddess Bow are a silly set of cards that can easily fuck with the opponent, and Clownblade can let you play all 3.
So I guess I just like the novelty of that idea.
