[DOCS] BLS and Gaia legacy supports

Recommended Posts

It was expected for those two Knights to only work when used for a Ritual Summon. I mean, not even Konami would allow for a triple attacking/triple banishing Envoy of the Beginning. These cards are still pretty awesome though; pity you still have no real reason to use OG BLS when they gave us a much better version of him.

Been testing these cards in decks, and I must say I'm very disappointed.

Without the chibis, Supreme BLS isn't that strong, and it's harder to get both Chibis in hand with the ritual stuff than you think.

And then the Chibis themselves. There's no reliable method of getting these guys in grave and then banishing them for the searches and then going with the ritual summon. On their own, they're basically vanillas and thankfully that 2000 defense makes up for it a little. But you rely a lot on Exchange of Night and Day to get your grave setup, and it's not a consistent engine.

the new Gaia guy is cool on paper, but until we see Awakened he's really not good. The ideal method of taking advantage of his tribute effect is using the Chaos Gaias, but that combo is too inconsistent to setup and way too slow to really work.

Until the cards we don't know are released, the deck really is kind of garbage. It's really inconsistent and difficult to set up. From my testing, I found a Chaos Dragons build to be the most effective, and then it it kind of wasn't. Unless the guys we don't know are really good and tie this deck together in ways we would not have imagined; it's going to be bad the entire time.

Gaia sucks because he is ironically a 7, but they were staying in theme cuz' Gaia becomes BLS. Yet, gameplay wise, it's counterproductive.

The Ritual sucks unless you tribute the Level 7 to search another BLS, which means you use 2 cards from the hand to play another from the hand, to search 1. IE, spend 3 cards to search 1. K.

The Ritual sucks in the Graveyyard unless the Level 4 guys are in the Graveyard for the maximum profit, otherwise you just Banish BLS Envoy fodder to Summon a 3K Flame Wingman.

Supreme BLS can Summon the 7, which is nice, but the same "problems" with the later still present themselves.

The LIGHT Level 4's effects are counter produtive; Sure, you can give your 3K Flame Wingman another attack, but letting it freely Banish monsters is far more effective, unless you are absolutely sure your 2nd attack will do things.

The DARK Level 4's temporary hand Banish effect is nice, but you would still typically go with the monster Banish effect cuz' Banishing up to 2 monsters per turn, for free, is cool; Makes the monster more of a threat/etc.

etc.

So more or less... These will do things. But they require set-up/etc cuz' they were forced into being a combo.dek.

I mean, it's not like Konami has a fear of 'Chaos' monsters or anything.

And we got two new ones-

Sacred Warrior Black Luster Soldier and Awakened Gaia the Fierce Knight

No effects yet, but I'm really hoping they actually do something that makes sense.

Artwork wise... The Level 4 ones are adorable.

Meanwhile, Supreme BLS is all:
