Big Benkei has been demoted. Synchros are the law now.

I know but still.

A - it WAS technically SHS's ace before they became a Synchro archetype

B - Given they have have a Level 1 Tuner with a Level 9 Synchro and a Level 2 Tuner with a Level 10 Synchro. Thought I may just be overthinking things.

No, you raise a valid point, they just didn't do it that way. Though Scales open up the ability to Synchro with 2 Piercers.

Shame the Pendulums are Scale 1 and 8. That means no Benkei. But it's just fine that way.

And this pretty much explains where Dennis got a ton of Performage Pendulums - the Lancers were given archetype-based Pendulum cards. If Gogenzaka has Samurai Pendulums, odds are, Reiji produced Pendulums for everyone. Whether Shun accepted them or not is a different matter entirely, since he doesn't seem to really want to use Pendulums.

Ahh, the Synchro has to attack the strongest monster. That explains a lot.

Thank god for that, as far as I'm concerned.  Having at least one person left who doesn't use Pendulums should provide some variety, and Pendulums aren't what Raidraptors need anyway.

extremely searchable means to summon with potentially good effects that are mlre means to early stryx/pseudo-Vanishing, and in a deck with increasongly varied levels?

naaaaah, totally not what a deck likethis would want at all

"Need" and "want" are two very different words.  Those things can be done without needing to shove Pendulums into the mix.  If those Pendulums happen to search RUM cards without jumping through hoops, and/or provide some actually significant boosts to the Xyz, then I'd change my mind about including them.
