when did you get introduced to touhou

 

why do you like touhou

You're fun, but can get on people's nerves at times when you get too excitable or persistent. Not really a bad thing, however. At times you have quite the interesting ideas to be put into the table, but at times, you can overly push an idea that would only create more work to fit that idea in.

 

You definitely can get really emotional at times like you said, and at times that really made you do things that you really shouldn't. And at times you act on impulse and do things that people had told you not to do, due to you being excitable about the idea.

 

Though you're definitely nice and fun.

 

I got introduced to Touhou by my friend. Funnily, while that friend got into Touhou mainly for the girls and music at first, I was first got interested in it due to it being a vertical shooter game, one of my favorite genres.

 

So...why do I like Touhou? I like everything about it. The music, the atmosphere, the characters, the dedicated fans and their works, the entire nod it has to japanese culture and mythology, ZUN's love for the game itself, the games themselves, it just...cllcked on me. It is also like a mold for stories that can be shaped by anyone into anything using it as a base, and I love it for that. It has enough things for the characters to stand on their own and be an actual character instead of standard pastiche of normal steorotypical character archetypes made to cater to the fanbase, but not enough to make them fully fleshed out, so the fanbase can run them with their own growth and interpretations.

 

I can ramble on for longer...but basically I like Touhou for being Touhou. It's not yet another series with improbably female cast that's designed to cater to the fans, but it is its own thing. It's not perfect, but I like it for what it is, and it means a lot for me.

 

Thoughts on mega altaria?

 

Best thing to ever grace Pokemon since the concept of Pokemon itself.

Why do you often avoid my questions when I ask for things regarding plans and projects? it's getting me pretty anxious, especially since I don't know what's inside your mind, me. I really wish you can keep your interest in something long enough to finish a project. At times I felt that you're taking a way too theoretical aproach to things like hosting and making an RP, or something to that effect. Man, being a slavedriver like this is quite a pain, me, but I jsut can't be sure whether I can keep you doing things if I don't be a slavedriver like I am now for you, me.

 

I don't think I've settled with a philosophical view, but the entire concept of existentialism, and Kierkegaard's entire work was something I really liked.

 

I'm waiting for you or rinne to start the discussion again gdi. I'm not in the position to fire up the discussion.

 

Okay, this has made me really want to get into Touhou now. I had my doubts cuz I thought it might be "yet another series with improbably female cast that's designed to cater to the fans," but apparently it's actually not and is really cool. So yeah. I'll have to get on that soon.

 

The fanworks would be saying otherwise because fans will be fans, though at its core, Touhou is not made to cater yeah.

You're hilarious as a member, and overall really fun to be around with. As an RPer...you don't post -that- much when we're in the same RP, but at times I kinda see you as being kinda...rigid or something close. Would definitely need to see more before actually making a conclusion however.

Favorite things about CFV and YGO?

CFV: Mainly the art. Not as overdesigned as Duel Masters for the most part, and it looks pretty cool. The game's also pretty fun even if its core is relatively simple.

YGO: Because it's the game where I can go HAM at any stage of the game.

 

In a headbutting contest, who would win? You or Mike Tyson?

I'm not that hardheaded yet, so Tyson wins.

 

Am I allowed to love Mega Altaria, too?

cauee it's my hands down favorite mega, and one of my favorite Pokemon period. I always wanted to use it in game in the past, but it never did enough >=

Of course, more love for Mega Altaria will always be something nice~

Half the time it's because I see it and then I push it to later before forgetting about it. Other half is because I find that my ideas are not polished enough to share, and then I forget about it. Something like that.

 

I really wish you can keep your interest in something long enough to finish a project.

Thinking about it now, I draw my enthusiasm from others and got too used to hype. I get discouraged easily without it.

Geez. even if it's not polished enough, we're supposed to discuss it so we can actually make the idea good.

But this goes both ways. People also derives enthusiasm and to some extent, hype, from the host. You can't expect people to stay if there's nothing to be excited about.

Seeing as how you're an editor, why don't I ask you something about your job?

 

Any absolutely stupid sheet you've seen while working? Do you like it?

Apparently I'm cursed in such ways that wherever I'm working as an editor, people'll intentionally be so incompetent just since most of their mess will inevitable be handled by me.

 

Atm I'm the head editor (here including QC and other related stuff too) of where I'm working, and people seem to interpret my position to be a janitor for their half-assed, incomplete, and rushed work. And a lot of the time I ended up having to finish those mess on my own just so the deadline can be fulfilled, so I don't even have the luxury of just berating my supposed subordinates and be done with it. If there's something that missed the deadline it's usually me that got blamed for it anyway by my boss.

 

Thouuuugh to be fair I also got a penchant of making my bosses utterly hate me for one reason or another.

 

But other than that, I like my job. It's just that I wished I could enjoy it rather than what happened.

 

Also I might slightly exaggerate things there, but the issue's roughly like that.
