Yu-Gi-Oh! The Bound Hearts (IC|Arc 1: The Road to Pro Arc|)

This was it. Somehow, Jess had managed to be put in a horrible position is just a matter of turns, and only put a tiny dint in her opponent's Life Points. "T-This isn't over! So what if your monster has 5800 ATK? I activate Dark Burst Dragon's effect. Magic Black Wing! Draw!" This card is what really counted. If it was a certain spell card, Jessica would win, but if it wasn't, it was game over. "D-Day Defense... This... Isn't enough to win! All D-Day Defense does is stop destruction... But I'll still take battle damage..." Jessica's dragon let a fiery stream out of its mouth, though it was completely ineffective against the huge rock creature.

As the living stone crashed into the pitch-black monster, Jessica dropped to one knee, doing nothing as the heavy rain smacked against her soaking black skirt. "Good game, David." Although sad, the young girl stood up confidently and walked over to David, sticking out her hand.

[spoiler=Cards]

D-Day Defense

SPELL/Quick-Play

When an opponent's monster declares an attack on a monster you control: That monster you control cannot be destroyed by battle, also, all battle damage you take from this battle is doubled. At the end of the Damage Step: Destroy the attacking monster.

David wiped the rain off his forehead. He had been so involved in this duel that he forgot that the rain even existed. His gold duel disk was getting rusty. He accepted her handshake. "Don't let one defeat get you down. There's always the next one." he said. He felt a little bad for her being out in the rain like this after losing. She even seemed a bit upset. He took off his coat and held it above her. "Let's get out of the rain. I don't want to catch ammonia before the tournament and I don't think you do either." Looking around quickly, David noticed that there was a subway entrance that they could go to. "Right this way, Jesse." he said leading the way. She was pretty good with that infinitely reviving strategy. It was even better to see her boss monster, but what was it about it that made it so special?

After being released from David's firm handshake, he spoke somewhat softer than when they were dueling. "Don't let one defeat get you down. There's always the next one. Anyway, let's get out of the rain. I don't want to catch ammonia before the tournament and I don't think you do either." The young man took off his jacket and held it over the top of her.

"T-Thanks. I didn't realize how c-c-cold it was out h-here." Jess replied, suddenly uncontrollably shivering. After pointing out a set of stairs leading up to a subway, David lead her to the damp, barely lit platform. Closing her Duel Disk and putting away her Deck, Jessica sat on a bench near the steps, and pat the bench next to her, as an invitation to let the rich boy sit next to her. It was still cold under the roof, though not as bad as being pelted on by the freezing water drops falling from the darkened sky. "D-David, please tell me a-about yourself..." Jess asked, wringing out her long purple hair as she did so.

"Mwahahahaha, you shoulda left my noble Parasite alone, cause now you just activated my trap!" Yukari announced gleefully "Say hello too... ♪♫HEXTERRA EXPLOOEESHEEEOOOOOOOONN!!♫♪ Now I get to pop a card, and then I roll a dice, and then you take 100 damage! ...times the result of course. Alrighty then... let's destroy that dumb face-down that didn't even do anything as of yet. And then... fingers crossed!"

With that, Yukari rolled her dice, as per Explosion's effect. She was hoping for a 6, or an odd number so then she could make it a 6. True, it wasn't gonna make up for her 700 Life Point drop, but more scumbag damage was always nice. However, the die's result turned out to be a 4.

"Not bad!" Yukari nodded, "You still take 400 damage on top of your card being popped, so all's as well as it can be. Oh, and you don't need to tell me your dumb monster's effect. I already scanned it, and I know that it lets you summon another of your dumb monsters from your hand. Did I mention that they're dumb?"

That last bit was just to make the angry lass even angrier, though not by all that much. Now it was just a matter of her ending her turn so she'd lose already.

David put back on his coat. "Well, ain't that the hard part." He said going deep into thought. What was there to tell about himself? How he got rich? His time spent around the world? How about why he was even there? He thought for a moment, then answered. "Well, my family are the founders of the region historic society. We mainly operate in less developed areas where we find some of the best treasures of old. The one that struck it the best was the discovery of an ancient mine. At the bottom of it, nearly ten stories below the ground, was a den where what we assume were theives hid treasure they stole. Turning it in, we made our grand fortune and proceeded to expand into a casino industry. You might be familiar with Topec Casino and Hotel, right?" he said to her. "We make so much from it that we could practically buy a presidential election." he bragged while checking his target. "I'd say this guy is my favorite customer. His name is Ace. According to his profile, he's a compulsive gambler, so I'm imagining he plays like one."

"Well, ain't that the hard part." The boy replied, slipping his coat back on.

"Is this guy just another face or something?" He then went on to talk seemingly endlessly about his parent's fame, and although it was horribly boring, Jess listened to all of it, to make up for the rude things she said in the duel.

"You might be familiar with Topec Casino and Hotel, right? We make so much from it that we could practically buy a presidential election." He boasted.

"Topec? I do think I've heard it somewhere." David then proceeded to make a little analysis of his opponent, joking about his target's gambling problem.

Mimicking David, she pulled her tiny phone out of her pocket, being extra careful to not let any water touch it.

"My target... He... They? Look kinda... Pixely. Stupid low resolution phone!"

The rain seemed to remain steady.  TJ was beginning to get antsy.  There was no announcement or anything.  Surely an hour has passed, right? TJ thought to himself, mentally bopping himself on the head for forgetting to install a clock into his duel disk.  He pulled out his phone and flipped it open, looking at the link of his target.  He didn't know who his target was, but it would probably make sense that his target might find him if they were both looking.

With that in mind, TJ pulled his jacket around him tighter and walked out into the rain, head ducked but eyes gleaming as he walked north along the street, quickly forgetting about his troubles as he saw many neon signs beckoning him to examine them closer.

Kye watched in complete disbelief as the bright black light diminished revealing a tall man, around 6'4. He had long black hair and a black tattooed marking under his right eye. The men looked sternly at Kye, his long black cloak waving in the growing strength of the wind. Kijama went to one knee and pointed his head to the ground as he praised the being before him.

"W-welcome back....Brox...." Kijama began as he slowly raised his head to view the being in front of him. "I....I am your....loyal servant....Kijama..." The rain continued to pout down, and Kye began to shake, not from the cold, but from fear. He could sense that just the presence of this man was intimidating enough let alone what would happen if he even moved a muscle.

"...Kijama?" His voice was deep and emotionless, yet strangely familiar to Kye.

"Y-Yes....Sir?"

"Thankyou." Surprisingly the man seemed quite sympathetic to the broken fat man as he hinted for him to stand up. The man known as Brox then cracked his neck side to side and stretched his arms a bit. "This fresh air was sorely missed. How long was I sealed, a year? 10?"

"Close....to 15...Brox.." Brox looked slightly surprised as he then only now noticed the young Kye standing a few meters away from the two.

"Hm? Who are you? Are you an associate of Kijama's?"

"I have....no idea...who he is....just an amatuer...by the looks...." Kijama answered as he finally stood up. He then prepared his Duel Disk. "Allow me...to end...him..."

"That wont be nessecary." Suddenly a black fog engulfed Brox's arm. As the fog slowly diminished it revealed a long silver duel disk that extended to past his left shoulder. "I may be rusty, wont you entertain me? Even for just 1 turn?"

Kye said nothing, who was this man? He could swear that the name and voice were of someone he knew once before.

"I-I didn't become undefeated by accepting a challenge I felt was unwinnable." Kye then began to turn around but noticed his body was stuck on the spot. "What's this?!" he thought to himself.

"Boy." Brox began as he prepared his duel disk. "Don't think you had a choice."

Kijama began pleading with Brox. "Please...Brox you...need time....to gather your....energy..."

Brox gave Kijama a brief glace with a slight grin. "Dont underestimate me Kijama." Brox then turned to Kye and stated. "Your move."

Kye stood shocked for a second as his duel disk activated and his special D-Gazer eye activated. "F-Fine!" Kye gulped as he drew his cards.

"Show me what little power you-...hmm?" Brox began but then questioned as he noticed one of Kye's card's glowing purple and being revealed to him.

"Ill show you my obsession." Kye stated as the two both stated in unison.

"Duel!"

A large purple aura in a little alley way in between the East and the West caught the attention of many on the island, along with a noticeable helicopter flying towards that purple light. It had been most certainly over an hour, but without the chairman to make the announcement how would the tournament start?

-60 Kilometers Off The Coast Of Remorse Pinnacle-

The ship rocked slightly in the intense waves, but steamed its way from the storm building up around the island. The entire ruined city was the epicenter of an intense cell that had sprung from the light drizzle from earlier, and now, an hour into the competition, Yuna's signal from her transponders was beginning to fade as she crossed back over towards the eastern side of the island.
"Sir, we're losing her!" One of the techs told his superior.
"Liebchen, come in!" Bertram barked into the comms, but to no avail. Only static responded to him, and he threw his earclip to the floor in disgust at the technology that was betraying him. <Yuna...please be safe...> He thought to himself, watching the readouts helplessly.

-Remorse Pinnacle: Outside A Certain Alleyway-

The storm was picking up as Yuna made her way through the driving rain and occasional thunderclap and lightning strike, the wind trying to buffet and push her Manticore. But the Duel Rubber was built of sterner stuff, with modern German engineering, along with quality parts from around the world. It was the culmination of almost 2 centuries of automotive perfection. And it endured the storm, rolling along the cracked streets like it was nothing. But Yuna then felt a chill go up her spine as she passed what appeared to be Kye confronting a very large, abnormally-shaped man in a hat and trenchcoat, both of them preparing to duel, and swerved her Duel Runner around to go back, approaching the spot before dismounting her ride and going towards Kye as she turned the corner. She froze in her tracks upon arriving, her expression still masked by her helmet and its polarized visor. But within, fear had chilled her curiosity, and try as she might, she could not move her feet back to her Duel Runner. All she could do is watch helplessly, wondering if there was any way she could help in the duel. "Hey! Kye, is it?" She finally spoke up, attempting to hide how scared she was, but she had no accent when she was speaking English. "Do you need any help with this creep? I'm ready to go if you are."

Adeen growled to herself as the diva's card destroyed her Covering Fire, sending that valuable card to the Grave. "Fine. I use Pummeler's effect to Special Summon another Basher Barrier in Attack Mode and end my turn." Luckily, Adeen had Pummeler and Barrier on the field with 2500 and 2300 ATK respectively. This girl would have to pull a miracle out of her hat to make something large enough to beat this field.

Yukari looked at her hand more closely. There was the Fish and Kicks card that she drew last turn. There was also a Double Summon and two copies of Hexterra Corrupter. All she needed was a Level 4 or lower Hexterra monster, such as Ravager or another Parasite, as well as a slight hand in luck with her die rolls, and the now over-confident angry lass' Life Points would be flattened within her next turn. However, as she drew her next card, she received some good news and some bad news. The bad news was that she didn't get the monster. The good news was that quite frankly, the card she drew instead was even better!

"Woot! Now prepare to lose, villain, cause your reign of terror ends right here!" Yukari cried, "First off, I'll use Foolish Burial! If you don't know what this does, then you officially fail harder at life than your mom! Oooooooooooh! But anyway, I then banish the Hexterra Ravager I just sent as a sacrifice for yet another cool monster in my awesome deck of pure awesomeness. Come on out, Hexterra Corrupter!"

A larger serpentine creature popped up from the ground, but this one seemed more... globule, in nature.

Sea Serpent-type/EARTH/Level 5/0 ATK/0 DEF

"When I Tribute Summon him, I can increase an enemy monster's Attack and Defense Points by 100 times the roll of the next dice I throw BUT(!!), and this comes in handy with his Attack Points of like, nothing, I can transfer all the battle damage I take from that monster straight to you! Now let's see what I roll," Yukari rolled another die, and like when she activated Hexterra Explosion earlier, she rolled a 4, "Again? Oh geez, that's not gonna be enough. Guess I'll have to use Double Summon, and then banish my Parasite from the Graveyard to Summon the other Corrupter in my hand. Now let's try this again."

As the first Corrupter spat a spray of globule projectiles at the Power Pummeler, another one popped up from the ground, spitting out the very same projectiles. The roll for this second Corrupter was important. If Yukari rolled another 4 or a higher result, the Pummeler's Attack Points would rise enough for the OTK to work, and if she rolled a 1 or a 3, she could make it a 6 via the effect of That Six. But a 2 would just ruin everything she was hoping to achieve. Thankfully, she managed to roll a 5 instead. Now the flattening of the angry lass's Life Points was starting to come into fruition.

EMP Power Pummeler's ATK: 2500 --> 2900 --> 3400

"Now go my mighty Corrupters, wipe out the rest of that villian's Life Points and put an end to her evil ways!" Yukari commanded triumphantly.

[spoiler=Yukari's Status]LP: 7300
Cards in Deck: 31
Cards in Hand: Fish and Kicks
Cards on Field: Hexterra Corrupter x2 (ATK, currently attacking EMP Power Pummeler), That Six (Face-Up)
Cards in Graveyard: Hexterra Explosion
Banished Cards: Hexterra Parasite, Hexterra Ravager

[spoiler=Hexterra Corrupter]Sea Serpent-type/EARTH/Level 5/0 ATK/0 DEF

You can banish 1 "Hexterra" monster from your Graveyard as a Tribute for this card's Tribute Summon. When this card is Tribute Summoned: Target 1 monster your opponent controls and roll a six-sided die; until the End Phase, increase that target's ATK and DEF by the result of the die x100, also your opponent takes all battle damage from battles involving that target.
