CfQsAvSVAAA542Z-1.jpg
Level 2 EARTH Zombie-Type Xyz Effect Monster
ATK 2200
DEF 0
Materials: 2 or more Level 2 monsters
(1) Once per turn: you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 other face-up card on the field; the effects of that target are negated as long as this card remains face-up.
(2) As long as a card targeted by this card’s (1) effect remains face-up on the field, neither player can activate the effects of cards with that card’s name.

I keep looking at this, and I can only see:
EB03-035EN-C.jpgPolymerization-SDMP-EN-C-1E.pngInfernityBishop-VJMP-JP-UR.png

So this is an Xyz Monster... that looks like a DM/GX card that cameos every series was used on... A synchro card from Kiryu/Kalin in the manga... and a card from another game combined.

And it's seriously funking slow.

Isn't saying that it's those cards "combined" redundant when Polymerization is among them? *shot*

Honestly, I only care because it means they haven't abandoned the unregistered Numbers yet.

I like how this is stronger than most Rank 3 cards, (except for Acid Golem. but it has a drawback, unllike this card which is pretty f***ing great).

Tbh i would be cool if this was a Rank 2 Gem-knight Pearl with no effects. I dont get how can people say this is bad, I mean, generic Rank 2's arent supposed to do much anyway.

Collectors Pack: Duelist of Flash version, aka the OCG equivalent of our upcoming Dragons of Legend Unleashed.

OT: Didn't expect we'd get an TCG/OCG original Number in here tbph.

Or maybe.

Just maybe...

it confirms that Numbers will be in the Xyz Dimension?!

Oh man rank 2s get their own giant hand.

ctrl+f "During either player's turn"

so no, they didn't

The more I think about it, the less I am convinced this does anything of value.

because it doesn't

it negates things like Scout/Dark Contracts/Floodgates, and that's about it.

It's a much slower Giant Hand pretty much. But you know what? It's not like rank 2 decks DIDN'T need this. It honestly can toolbox a lot of late game situations.

Also idk if anyone else realized, but if you target a card in the Pendulum Zone, then your opponent can't use the monster effects of another copy, and vise versa. It's situational yes, but it can hit just a tiny pool of Pendulums in which that may hurt the deck.

If it was a quick effect it would be much, MUCH more useful though. 1 of at best in those decks. Shame such fantastic art had to be wasted on mediocrity. Speaking of which, I assume this card is in the same lore as Sky Calvalry no?

I mean, I get why people like this card. It's a reasonable beater for cheap that answers cards. But, let's think this through...

Yes, it's a fine option. However, it's a fine option for a mediocre Rank, and it doesn't give any more incentive to use that Rank.

There are a number of Rank 8s that do this, a fair amount of 4s (though it dwindles down without Chain), and similar between them.

But you know what Rank didn't have this? 3. It had... Dante. It had cards like Alucard and Zenmaines in the past, but they got crept HARD.

So how was this fixed? By giving them an amazing and a good rank 3; Break Sword and Granpulse.

Yes, Break Sword is an example of Power Creep, but it is something that can only age well, where Alucard/Zenmaines don't do so. It's an edge to being able to make R3, even in non-centric decks, which is important.

So let's think about it like this:

3: Break Sword

4: Castel + Utopia

5: Tiras + Durendal (and Pleiades + Nova)

6: Beatrice

7: Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon

8: Harbinger + Felgrand + others

9: Enterblathnir

10: Gustav + 81 + Spooder

11: Spooder sorta
12: Spooder sorta

So what's the big difference here? Aside from R5s, whose generics don't encourage either teching OR building around them (the two in parentheses do), the other ranks give you an incentive one way or the other, especially the higher ranks that are harder to build around until 10, and sorta 8.

Is THIS a card that says "Run me because you can spit out 2s"? Is it a card to build 2-centric around?

It's not a bad option, for sure, but it doesn't change the flaw that the two lowest ranks suffer from; A lack of good cards to make.
