LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
If you want an actual discussion on the merits of console vs pc and such make an actual discussion not something in Misc.Anyway the answer is pretty much "just because". There's not some deep meaning except maybe on the personal level so there's no real answer to this.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
It isn't a shitpost when he is answering the question. PC simply is superior. It has higher power than any console, and any advantage a console has could be emulated on PC. It is just objectively a better platform.
VCR_CAT
It isn't a shitpost when he is answering the question. PC simply is superior. It has higher power than any console, and any advantage a console has could be emulated on PC. It is just objectively a better platform. Except now the hardware for consoles has reached a point where the graphics they can achieve is good enough that one doesn't feel like they're compromising it. Not only that, but having a standard for the hardware that games are being developed for not only allows the games to be more properly and better optimized, but it also means that a properly developed game will install and work right out of the box without any concerns of incompatibility between hardware/drivers. As well, console gaming is by and far away the far more economical method of gaming. Yeah sure, PC gaming can do more in terms of hardware flexibility; but combining the facts that you need to shell out thousands of dollars for the hardware difference to actually mean something, with the endless headaches one can get just from trying to get one game to work because of the most BS of reasons; no, it's not objectively better. Consoles have gotten a lot better over recent years, and anyone who still thinks that PC will always be endlessly superior is stuck in the 00's. Pretty much the only advantage PC gaming has is modding-- oh wait, that's coming to consoles too.

Tourmaline
... You know all consoles are just specialized PCs. As a subset of PCs, anything consoles can do can be done by PCs but not a fraction of all the things a PC can do is available to console. Consoles can never get close to PCs because then none of the people here would have the money to play any games.
Smear
As someone who owns a Xbox ONE, PS4 and a decent PC, the only reason for consoles are exclusives. PCs are better in almost every way. More social options, use of external apps for games, more customisable (ui, key bindings, graphic settings, etc), things are rarely locked at 30fps, there's a load more I could go into but there's just significant advantages over PC than an console. Only issue is the price but a good computer's got so many more uses than a console. They're literally just worse PCs.

Only issue is the price but a good computer's got so many more uses than a console. They're literally just worse PCs. Price isn't the only issue; compatibility with hardware is a huge pain the neck for a lot of people, myself included. As well, for price being the "only issue"; paying 10x or more the price to play most of the same games often times isn't worth it. Most consoles (sorry Nintendo) have robust social systems. PSN's party system is fantastic, and I'd rather have one, good and functional social system than options of mostly mediocre with a few decent. Also, most modern console games offer control and UI customization settings; even Skyward Sword has UI options. Graphics options aren't present, sure, beyond accessibility options such as colour-blindness; but those aren't needed when the hardware is consistent beyond every user and the game is made to run at optimal settings. Sure there's no graphics settings on console, but there's basically no reason to have them. Also, if you followed console games, you'd know 60 FPS was the big push for console gaming in this past generation. PC's can do more that's not gaming, yes, but in terms of gaming itself there's beginning to be far fewer things that PC has a dramatic advantage over, and the price of a good PC combined with the hardly guaranteed nature of game functionality start to show clear disadvantages. Honestly, in my opinion, PC is no longer objectively better for gaming. SUBJECTIVELY, sure; consoles haven't surpassed PC's, but they've gotten good to the point that the clear superiority is gone and it's now more-so up to preference and taste than anything.
