Soul Blossoming

[Equip Spell]

Equip only to a non-Pendulum monster you control. Once per turn, the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effect. During your Standby Phase: Place 1 Soul Flower Counter on this card. You can Tribute the equipped monster; draw 1  card for each Soul Flower Counter that was on this card +1.

At worst, it's -1 (you're losing this card and whatever you Tributed for a single draw; maybe 0 if you stole the opponent's monster), but it gets better if you can keep said monster alive long enough to benefit. Suppose you can keep this on a boss monster and keep it from getting run over by other stuff for a while (considering a few of them nowadays do have some form of effect protection on them already). As much as I want to suggest combos with The Dark Door to limit the amount of times the opponent can attack, and thus won't cause this card's protection effect to break, it is still situational (that, and obvious removal so should only be used for smaller monsters).

Suppose you could just equip this to an Xyz, then tribute that monster when its usefulness expires and net off whatever draws.

Yeah, it requiring counters is a technical liability because of that card that removes them, but remind me again who runs that card nowadays?

I want to try this out with Tefnuit. I get a +0 immediately and float into something on the spot.

The word "Tribute" gives me mixed feels though. As much as I like the idea of the above combo, the first thing that came to mind was Mind Control on an opponent's monster.

This is a random use but Swords at Dawn for a quick protection or a quick "got it at Standby" to give it an immediate counter for a double draw.

This isn't direct competition but it does seem a little bit nicer than Shard of Greed, plus it gives you the ability to go past "draw 2" so the more casual the game is, the more this card can amass an immense fortune xD

Oh right, this card breaks even with no counters when using monsters that float when Tributed; and of course makes a plus right away with 1 counter.

I was thinking it was underwhelming at first, while still being fair as for not outright outclassing +0 deck thinners that use a monster on the field like Wonder Wand, Advance Draw and White Elephant's Gift, but triggering some floating monsters gives it a nice niche. Plus it gets Equip Spell support, like being searchable by Hidden Armory, Power Tool, Fairy Tail - Cinderella, etc.

For one, it's easy to search with Hidden Armory. For another, Vylon might see use with it, as they can search it relatively easily. It'd be funny to use with Vylon Omega; either trying to keep the monster on the field, negate, or draw. It'd be amusing to try out with Vylon. It also reminds me if Heart of Clear Water, except it's only once per turn snd protec ts against all destruction. Though I am curious as to why it specifies non-Pendulum monsters.

Because Tribute the Pendulum, Pendulum Summon it back - attaching it to a Pendulum Monster makes the card give even more card advantage because you aren't even really Tributing the Monster as long as you have a set of Scales. It seems like a pretty good balancing choice.

This card is good, the Shadow Mist plays alone have me hyped - Tribute Shadow Mist, draw all the cards, search that one that I somehow didn't draw, keep doing things because HERO Decks. Also, if it works the way I at least think it does, Pyro Clock of Destiny during Standby Phase should give an extra Counter, or, if your Deck is running a bit low, you can even throwback to Solomon's Lawbook and skip the Standby Phase to keep the Counters in check. This does fun things in pretty much any Equip Spell based Deck.
