Cyber Dragon Hertz

Level 1 LIGHT Machine Effect Monster -

You can only use 1 of this card name's (2) and (3) effects per turn, and only once that turn.

(1) This card's name becomes "Cyber Dragon" while on the field or in the GY.

(2)If this card is Special Summoned, this card’s Level becomes 5 until the End Phase (also for the rest of this turn, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except Machine monsters.

(3)If this card is sent to the Graveyard: add 1 “Cyber Dragon” other than this card from your /Deck/Grave yard to Hand

Total Crap

2nd effect is pretty much only triggerable by core or one for one, and for core there's no reason to choose this over the generic cydra.

3rd effect only searches generic cydra and you cant even use it if you use the 2nd effect.

does cydra need even more machine dupe targets

and not being able to use both the 2 and 3 effects on the same turn really funking hertz and it doesn't even grab anything significant with the 3 effect

I do hope that cydra gets some sort of decent s/t support this set though

Let me enlighten you to the wonderful world of downbeat & transmodify Nai

Hertz - lv 1

Core - lv 2

Vylon Cube - lv 3 - Searches "Break! Draw!" which is retarded when equipped to chimeratech or cyber Twin (make Omega 3+5)

Drei - lv 4

Cydra /Gala Sol - lv 5

As pointed above, looks like it wants to be played with One for One and Machine Dupe, but after that, it just opens for Fusion/Xyz plays, and on top of that it's restricted to Machines. At least you can still drop Merkabah. The hard OPT on the 2 and 3 effects seems annoying, too.

Anyway, I'm guessing Hertz is also a reference to Herz, heart in german, which would make sense since this is smaller than Core.

Still, Dupe target searchable by One for One seems fine enough for CyDras. I do wish they get some Extra Normal Summon power with the upcoming support.

I guess the limitation on its 2 and 3 effect is based on how you use it as its 2 effect might be aimed for Xyz Summoning into Infinity while its 3 effect is aimed for Fusions and Link Summoning.

You sure that text is accurate? Last effect doesn't say anything about the End Phase on the Org. Even then, yeah it sucks you can only use 1 of the effects per turn, would make it work very well with Xyz Summoning, but I guess it's too much to ask for. Still, I really like the last effect in a lot of ways, great for Link Summoning, works on any kind of sending, either Fusion or as Xyz Material, but that it's so restrictive will turn a lot of players of it.

I am not sure what is supposed to be awful about this card or why one would sumon the original cyber dragon over this.

This card basicly adds a floating effect to the xyzs (including infinity), even if (as one should) one uses nova's effect to revive 1 material remains, which should be this card, for any non-xyz plays this card floats anyways and is a solid one for one, core, soul charge, monster reborn, revival trap and foolish burial target (though the latter use is quite slow).

The only disappointing case would be that this monster does not float until the end phase (though Ygorganization states it to float right away).

Do Cyber Dragons really need more support than they've gotten?

Cyber Dragon was a hugely influential card when it was released.

They were capable of OTKs even with just Twin, and it's only gotten easier with time.

They even have an everything negator/monster absorber that's so easy to summon it may as well not be a Cyber Dragon card.
