-Griffin
Tankroid is optional in the same way the new Machina is. There is an ignition effect, and therefore automatically optional without any need to mention it in the card text. Link to comment

Bringerofcake
Actually, Facsimilier is correct they way it currently is. Maintenance Costs are not considered effects, and would not be negated by Facsimilier in that state. This is also the reason why KM Skill Drain Decks aren't running amok. EDIT: Also, the term Maintenance Cost may not be seen explicitly on a card, but the wiki does deem it a term. So my OCG is indeed correct. Link to comment

There is an ignition effect' date=' and therefore automatically optional without any need to mention it in the card text.[/quote'] Where is the ignition effect? Do you mean when is it Summoned without Tributing? In that case, the effect would be: "If you control no monsters, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing and discard 1 “roid” card to destroy 1 card on the field." Roid Power-Up[spell Card]Discard 1 card. Add 1 Level 3 or lower "Roid" monster to your hand. Minor Fix is fixed ;D Yeah' date=' you add the card, but my question was if the card is from the Deck, Graveyard or, why not, Removed from play? Actually, Facsimilier is correct they way it currently is. Maintenance Costs are not considered effects, and would not be negated by Facsimilier in that state. This is also the reason why KM Skill Drain Decks aren't running amok. EDIT: Also, the term Maintenance Cost may not be seen explicitly on a card, but the wiki does deem it a term. So my OCG is indeed correct. You are right with the Maintenance =/= effect. But Wiki may use any term it wants, but I say they are not official unless Konami uses them as well. So, I prefer to avoid Wiki terms. Perhaps the correct effect could be: "Once per turn, you can Tribute this monster. If you do, "Koa'ki Meiru" monsters you control are not destroyed during your End Phase" Link to comment
-Griffin
Frex, you're getting ignition mixed up with trigger =/An ignition is optionally activated at any point during your Main Phase. His effect is ignition, and therefore automatically optional. Also, WC09 has a Glossary with official terminology. Ignition is the official terminology for what I mean. However, Maintenance Cost is not official OCG, the correct OCG is apparently, using WC09 as a source, "cost to keep the card". So "negate the Maintenance Cost" should probably be, "negate the cost to keep the card." Although Frex's point of just not making them destroyed seems neater and less debatable, so I'd go with that. Anyways, shouldn't the second effect for Truckroid still be: "Once per turn, you can discard 1 "roid" monster to destroy 1 card on the field."? Or those 2 words are not necessary? Link to comment
-Griffin
No need for "you can." Konami used to use it, but it seems that they have only recently stopped using it for ignition effects, since they are all optional anyway. Link to comment
Darj
I see. I had no idea of that "ruling". It's good to know. But I liked how it practically forced to discard "roid" monsters: You would have to play "Truckroid" wisely for not discarding valuable "roid" cards. Link to comment
