And now back to the top of your post. Firstly, from general to specific, it's Christian -> Catholic -> Roman Catholic. The term 'Christian' has become so generic its only qualifier is really the acknowledgment that Jesus probably existed. 'Catholic' is the largest denomination of Christianity. 'Roman Catholic' is the specific denomination of Catholicism that is headed by the Pope/Bishop of Rome, and is the largest denomination of Catholicism. 'Catholics' is usually used to mean 'Roman Catholics', and 'Christians' is usually used to mean 'Catholics'.

 

I'd have to go a step further than you, though. It does matter what you believe - a nebulous but certainly extant portion of the U.S. believes that people of other descents are inferior. So they live in a country that has laws to ensure against discrimination - they still have sinful souls (and that's a lot coming from someone who doesn't believe in sin). The same goes for those who feel that homosexuality is immoral.

From my understanding of Revelation most of what it talks about is symbolic. But yea, even by bible standards it's out there.
