Which is the Best Machine Emperor?

Recommended Posts

I know we've already discussed them separately, but there's one thing that wasn't quite made clear, as they were separate discussions.

Put simply, which one of the three Machine Emperors is the best?

Differences:
EARTH
0 ATK / 0 DEF
This card gains ATK and DEF equal to half your Life Points. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster equipped to this card to your side of the field in face-up Defense Position.

WIND
2200 ATK / 2200 DEF
Other monsters you control cannot declare an attack. By sending a monster equipped to this card to the Graveyard, this card can attack your opponent directly this turn.

DARK
2500 ATK / 2500 DEF
Other monsters you control cannot declare an attack. Once per turn, you can negate the activation of an opponent's Spell Card and destroy it.
All three have their benefits. All three are splashable. All three became more usable when Dark Hole was announced as newly Limited. But which one works out best? That's something I can't quite figure out.

The way I see it is they're all useful for different parts of the game:

Grannel is best early game when your LP is high and he can put a lot of pressure on the opponent, Wisel is best mid game for a bit more control and limiting of their options, and Skiel is best end game when you just want to finish it and need that last little bit of damage.

I wish they didnt kill Skiel >___>

Grannel can OTK easier, as it would have the most ATK half the time, and it doesnt limit you to only itself attacking.

But with Wisel, you won't need other monsters!

As long as you have 5000+ Life Points, Grannel is the strongest in terms of ATK. Wisel is definitely a beast, but the previous format was Trap-heavy and this one doesn't have to worry about Heavy Storm anymore, so Wisel has become fairly easy to play around. Skiel...I'm hoping that's not the proper text for Skiel, and it doesn't prevent all your other monsters from attacking.

Also, for some reason I can never get Wisel out, but get Grannel easily. Does that make sense?

Huh, we predicted Skiel's effect correctly. It's unfortunate that its effect is bad, but I still like Skiel. Wisel is the best, in my opinion. It has a guaranteed amount of attack and needs the opponent to hold onto their spells to play 2 a turn, or lose them to Wisel's effect.

Grannel is tricky. I can't help but thnk it SHOULD have the "only monster attack" clause, but its effect indicates that it doesn't on purpose (why weaken Grannel to summon something other than Stardust, if it can't attack?) It's almost broken the way it is.

Of the three, I'd play Wisel.

Skiel for stall.

Grannel for OTK.

Wisel for control.

Machine Emperor Stall Control FTW?

A direct attack effect= stall?

It makes sense for stall in that all the Machine Emperors are, astoundingly, at level 1 and therefore Gravity Bind and Level Limit are their friends. But...who would run Skiel for "stall"? Wisel's control element is better for stall.

Set monster --> Dark Hole --> Summon Skiel or another --> Level Limit --> Discard then attack directly

Again, you're running Skiel exclusively for this, rather than Wisel and Grannel? In order for Skiel to consistently direct attack, your opponent has to keep feeding you Synchro monsters, and unlike Rua, most people won't summon another Synchro monster in the presence of a Machine Emperor without a solid plan to not get said Synchro monster fed to Skiel.

At least whenever Yusei summoned a Synchro in the presence of Wisel, he had a plan to dodge Wisel's Synchro Stealing effect.

Oops.

Sorry.

Please forgive my constant stupidity.
