So here we are talking about a very essential and important part of YGO, and that is the search cards, fetch cards and tutor cards. Most of them claim monsters with "1500 ATK or Lower" to prevent the searching of BAWSS CARDS too early in the game, even though there was one card that did the exact opposite, and is no longer playable due to that.

Most people complain about cards like these because they take the random and luck factor out of YGO by allowing OTKS to be quickly acquired, or because their targets are absurdly powerful. "Because if YGO isn't about luck, why shuffle the deck?"

The high majority of people like them because they give an alternative strategy to the game other than ATK ATK ATK, even though thats usually what you do AFTER you search out cards.

There was a list of cards that do things but I forgot where i put it:

Reinforcement of the Army: Tutors out Dark Grepher and Elemental Hero Stratos. Probably Limited for that sole reason, will it ever come back to 3?

Golden Sarcophagus: Slowest, but best tutoring card in the game, acquire any card in 2 turns. Then again, I am wrong.

XX-Saber Emmersblade: Should be a common. That s*** is absurd.

Mystic Tomato: Probably one of the most popular ones out there right now.

Sangan: It's difficult thinking how the game would be without him.

Im pretending this thread is about searchers and tutors, but it's actually about my 1500th post.


So, TCG,

If they took the ability to search out cards from your deck, how would this change the meta? Would it slow down? Die? Lose strategy? Become based on luck? Become the Beatdown game again? Most decks would not be able to survive if they could not get their key cards fast enough.[/size]

-Field Spells would be harder to get, making Decks based around them pretty much useless.
-Lightsworns would be good, they don't have to search for Wulf and Bekoning Light is not search either.
-Monarchs will somewhat survive too.
-Gadgets wouldn't exist.

The game would obviously slow down without tutoring cards since you would have to rely on drawing the cards you would tutor instead of having to wait for either a tutoring card or the card itself which in turn means you essentially have an increased chance of drawing the card you want.

I think he is referring to the fact it can search any card in the game but yes, I do agree that a 2 turn wait for the card you need is something you could consider bad when you don't get the card you need right away. If you have the option of searching a card with Gold Sarcophagus that can obviously be searched by another card like say a Level 4 or lower Warrior by Reinforcement of the Army then obviously you would use Reinforcement of the Army. Gold Sarcophagus' niche when it comes to tutoring is the fact that it can search otherwise unsearchable cards. There is Different Dimension Capsule that does that too but that is vulnerable to removal which means you lose the card you search for while Gold Sarcophagus isn't bound by that drawback.

I'm pretty sure you're the only real moderator TCG has, since Chaos Pudding is never online, I'm not doing moderation stuff because YCMaker's a twit, and the other Supers don't bother with TCG. But what can you be expected to do? Ban the idiots, and the forum dies due to lack of members; keep the idiots, and the forum is flooded with stupidity. Rock, hard place, et cetera.

Isn't that the demographic of users that a site based on a children's card game is supposed to attract? Most intelligent people would know better than to come to this site, so that's probably why there are so few here.

I remember when this section's post ratio was like, 10 posts every 5 seconds. Now it's like, 1 every 30 seconds.

Sabers would be dead. Gadgets would be emotionally hurt, and would sit in the corner all the time crying. Infernities would be dead. Quickdraw would be dead. Most of the meta would be dead. Lightsworns would be good again (even without CotLB). Tbh, the entire game would be ruined, and games would last too long.
