Falling Down

Recommended Posts

Old card for use when Cards like Des Rook Archfiend were out.

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Tips:Falling_Down

The problem I find with this cards Tips and rulings is that they mention Summoned Skull as an Archfiend card and there is no clear ruling to this cards use with cards like Red Dragon Archfiend and Scrap Archfiend. Either Konami hasn't run up against this problem in Tourney play, or else they are letting it slide because a base card like this that is should be semi-useless now has a use against more modern cards like Red Dragon Archfiend... So, yea... Strange....

Red Dragon Archfiend, Scrap Archfiend and Chaos King Archfiend count, right?

They do, but you can't really focus your entire deck on summoning them.

And yes, it works with S/Ts too, like Axe of Despair and... uhh... umm... *acid to your face!* *escape rope!*

But yeah, they need way more archfiends. >_>

Some cards were retrospectively considered "Archfiends". See, the Japanese term is "Demon" (or Daemon or something like that). Before "Archfiends" became an archetype in DCR, the English versions gave completely different, unrelated names. Axe of Despair is an Archfiend card because the Japanese name used the term we later changed to "Archfiend". Now, all cards created after DCR is given the name "Archfiend" if they had "Demon" in its Japanese name. Red Demon's Dragon (English: Red Dragon Archfiend) is an Archfiend because it has "Archfiend" in its name.

To my knowledge, there are no "Archfiend" monsters or cards in the game that are NOT Archfiends.

Red Dragon Archfiend, Infernity Archfiend, and Thought Ruler Archfiend are all "Archfiends", as their Japanese names are "Red Demon's Dragon", "Infernity Demon", and "Mental Sphere Demon". Presumably, Scrap Archfiend is "Scrap Demon".

evilfusion covered most of it, but basically whenever a Japanese card has "Dēmon" in it's name, it's an Archfiend. People will spell it as "Daemon" (an older spelling of "demon") to differentiate between "Dēmon" and "Akuma" (which means "demon" and is the Japanese term for the Fiend Type).

I wish Fiendish Chain was an Archfiend card, but unfortunately it's "Demonzu", not "Dēmonzu". Yes. off by one "e"...

What happens if I equip my opponents infernity archfiend with this while I control no cards? Will it destroy itself before I get my guy or will it put the guy on my side before looking at its destruction effect?

You can activate "Falling Down" when there are no Archfiends on your side of the field, but it is destroyed immediately before it is equipped to a monster.

I think the only semi-decent ones are: Cyber Archfiend, Imprisoned Queen Archfiend, Lancer Archfiend, Archfiend's Soldier, Mad Archfiend, Mist Archfiend, Red Dragon Archfiend, Summoned Skull (if using a deck that makes it easy to Summon), Scrap Archfiend, Terrorking Archfiend (if you're using the right deck), and Thought Ruler Archfiend.

Even with these I think you could make a deck, though it wouldn't be an amazing one.

Cyber Archfiend sucks... still I run like 1 or 2 in my Deck, I think the best way to play an Archfiend Deck is a beatdown one...

I run 2 of this in my Deck, is funny to take my Opponent's monsters to have an empty field

Archfiends are a decent Archtype, but it's Field Spell sucks... it would awesome if it let's you search for any Archfiend <_<
