Book of Moon

This card is a Swiss army knife against attacks, Xyz, Synchro and Monster Effects and puts monsters in a more vulnerable Battle Position. I think it's extremely powerful.

Setting an Xyz doesn't detach its materials(Assuming, that's what your thinking).
Synchros can be interrupted, just cuz' Tuners. But that's their fault for not anticipating it.
Effect monsters; It depends on what you use it on(Inzektors, for example, would get stompped by it. But something like Tour Guide hardly would).
But aside from that, its just a weird Lance that can also let you run over monsters.

the reason why setting works well on xyz monsters is because cards like maestroke and zenmaines cant save themselves from destruction when facedown. thats all.

It stops Xyz's from being made if properly timed. I think that's where Newhat was thinking of. I don't think it's that comparable to lance. Both serve different purposes which happen to overlap in a few places. Could easily be put at 2. Funniest play is resetting a Snowman or Ryko that's being attacked after having already been flipped.

Put it to 3 for all I care. Lance outclasses it in most purposes nowadays anyways.

Well, it has a few twists. Book stops Synchros and Xyzs from happening, cancels monsters' attacks, gets rid of self-protecting and continuous effects that might bother you, makes nomis cry when they realize they cannot be Flip Summoned, reuses Flip effects, saves your monsters from targets like D. Prison and cards like Mirror Force, laughs at Trap-hate measures, eliminates equips, and who knows what other things.

Lance is a pretty good card, too, but I think there are many uses mentioned there that Lance cannot do.

all monsters can be flip summoned (unless theres some oddball monster that specifically says it cant be.) this is normally irrelevant for nomis because they cant be set, but if theyre set by effects like book of moon they can flip summon just fine. it is not a normal or special summon and does not follow the rules for either.

A monster can be Flip Summoned if, this turn, it has not

1) been Summoned

2) declared an attack

3) changed its Battle Position

because a Flip Summon is basically a change in Battle Position.
