Neither of those are strictly better than Blader. If you're running more than the 2 Level 8 Synchros, this should be your third Go-To in anything other than Psychics, and maybe even then. Many cards are released when it's in the agenda that they won't make any impact according to the new game's concepts of the moment. Remember when everyone wanted LIGHT/DARK Charmers because it was all of what the meta was about, but they released them when many other Attributes got support? or Orient Dragon after Synchros started leaving the spotlight. It's actually kinda funny after a while. OT: It has pretty solid stats, and provides a very nice safety line. I'm counting 3, but there might be more cowboy, muzurhythm, leadblow after 1 detach, albverdich can crash after a detach, gagagigo, excalibur, kusanagi after one detach, leviathin after 2 detaches, acid golem, shark drake can crash, dark mist, shark drake veiss if you have under 1k lp, utopia ray if you have under 1k lp, photoknight, snowdust giant with a minimum of 3 WATER monsters in hand, sylphine if there are 2 face-up cards other than crimson blader, disigma if equipped with a fire, zenmaines if it uses its effect, zubaba if you have a warrior monster in your hand with a minimum of 800 ATK.
