“Oh, please don’t cry,” Ice replied seeing the tears in Kallen’s eyes, “it really is okay.” Seeing this boy now made her feel all warm inside, being able to help someone instead of being helpless. Was it like being a big sister?

She was about to continue with the boy when an odd man in a crown walked up to them, and Ice ventured back into her shell.  She was most intrigued not by his odd dress, for really who was she to call anyone odd, but the Pikachu that sat upon his shoulder. She offered a small unsteady smile to the Electric Mouse Pokemon, when it made the cute little sound.

“Well hello to you too,” the blue haired girl gasped then blushing. She was talking to a Pokemon with other people, strange people, in public, surely they wouldn’t think that she could actually understand the Pokemon… right?

At that moment though a bell tolled, and they were asked to proceed to the court, moving as fast as she could Ice walked to the court barely making it in time before they closed the gate. Uncomfortable with the huge amount of people around Ice stayed near the back of the stadium hoping not attract to much attention, and slip out quickly.

Reading her DataCard Ice proceeded to the specified arena.

~A few minutes later~

Ice was glad that her arena was near the outskirts of the island, in a nice quiet place. Her opponent a young boy short blonde hair stared at her from across the field radiating confidence.

“’Sup?” He called in a loud voice. “Hey, I’m Cory Sanders, nice to meet you. So you ready to get this battle started?” Ice only nodded in response placing her suit cases down, and digging through her bag for a Pokeball. “Alright go Hitmonlee!” A brown Pokemon with springy arms and legs poped out of the Pokeball.

“Swanna, use Ice Beam,” Ice said calling the move before she had even let the Pokemon out of its Pokeball. As the bird Pokemon fly around the battle field freezing a circle around the battle field constricting Hitmonlee’s space, while also making a beautiful ice wall.

~15 minutes later~

The field now looked like a winter wonderland ice rising over the green landscape. Having concluded its battle with Cory’s last Pokemon  Swanna landed on top of one of the ice pillars quite proud of itself. Without another word Ice recalled Swanna, and bolted out of the arena wanting to get away from the people an too her hotel room so she could unpack.

King Aurelius, what a pathetic joke. With the way he spoke, there was nothing kingly about him at all. What was this pretender doing on his rightful throne? N.N suppressed his annoyance and waited until most of the others had scattered for their battles before taking out two Pokeballs. Within a burst of bright light, three Unowns in the shape of an N had been released, and began circling around him as if he were a planetary object. Afterwards, he looked to the Pikachu on his shoulder.

"Were you able to determine which of these mortals possess a Legendary Pokemon, Urlugal?" N.N asked it.

"Pika pipika-pika pika!" It replied happily.

"...I see. So they dare work amongst humans, now of all times." While he couldn't directly understand the speech itself, he was able to quickly piece together what a Pokemon was trying to say from their tone and gestures, and it was rare for him to misunderstand. However, they weren't able to convey specific names, titles, or phrases back to him. Then he turned to the Unowns. "You and you, follow them and record all events. As for you, search solo for a third potential owner. All of you must keep your distance. Should you be discovered, act wild."

With that, the three N Unowns scattered. It helped that they were tiny, could float and were mostly flat, granting them a wide range of potential ways to conceal themselves. The first two went off to tail Ice and Kallen, while the last one pretty much darted in a random direction hoping to find its target. None of them questioned their orders.

"Perhap I should've arrived earlier, but then again, modern transportation are slow. I could've arrived faster on a rowboat... Now then." Looking at his DataCard, he walked off.

----

Although Areo looked around, he didn't mange to caught any sight of her. Then again, it was crowded and she could be anywhere. He considered returning to the registration office to ask about the other participation, but decided against it. That would be rude. Shaking his head, he waved those thoughts away, looked at his DataCard, and smiled. The field where he would meet his opponent was advantageous for his Pokemon, as it was a rough, mountainous terrain. Something he could easily overcome with his flying Pokemon.

Fearlessly, he ran onward until he arrived, at which point he stopped upon seeing his opponent. Somebody he recognized almost immediately.

"You are..." Areo murmured, almost scared for a moment, but he shook his head to wave it away. The kid standing before him was only fifteen, but he emitted such power from him. He wore a strange, green outfit with Rayquaza-like patterns, alongside a black cap that permanently masked his head. "The legenday Sky Pillar prodigy, Sharo Cainzen... Damn, I have to face you this early?"

Sharo only smiled and nodded in response. So the rumors were right, he really was a guy of few words. This was serious. All the opponents up until now had been ordinary trainers, but this guy...even though he was younger, he was a prodigal trainer, a master. "Come."

This was a battle worthy of being the grand finale, but luck had gone against him. Still...

"Good." Areo replied with a grin. He was starting to get excited. "I needed a good warm-up anyway!"

"Come out, Noctowl, I choose you!"

"Go, Scizor!"

In a flash of light, two powerful Pokemon had already hit the field and engaged each other in combat. While Noctowl had the advantage of flight and greater speed, Scizor was superior in terms of endurability and raw power, as evidenced when Sharo commanded it to fire a powerful Hyper Beam right off the bat, though it was dodged. As the attack took time to recharge, Areo took this moment of weakness to let Noctowl dive in for a Sky Attack- but no, it was a trap! Scizor suddenly turned around, its arms glowing red, and delivered tough, repetitive punches - Bullet Punch. Noctowl had been immediately KO'd, and Areo couldn't help but wince at his Pokemon's pain.

Sharo had only three Pokemon, which was settling in a way, but at this rate he wouldn't even get through the first. What Areo needed was more speed, "Let's do this, Jolteon!" Naturally one of the fastest Pokemon, he quickly devised a plan and had it race towards the red-armored insectoid, leaping through the rocky ground. Then, just as it was about to deliver another Bullet Punch, Jolteon suddenly sparked with energy and released a Thunder Wave, paralyzing it. Wasting no time, he followed it up with a powerful Thunderbolt. But Scizor managed to both endure it and shrug off its paralysis and fired a Hyper Beam at close range, but Jolteon immediately retaliated with a Signal Beam, and the two energies collided to create an explosion that blew them both away. When the smoke had cleared, Scizor had fainted, but Jolteon was still up.

Then it was time to bring out their next Pokemon. The battle continued.

Kallen Colverson

Kallen watched the King as he made his entrance, quieting the entire crowd with just his presence. Kallen looked on with both awe and fear, he was truly intimidating. Having been dismissed, Kallen looked at his DataCard to see where he would be battling.  His heart dropped to learn that he was battling in a water styled field. He only had 1 Pokemon fit for a water battle, leaving him at a disadvantage should his opponent have three. Kallen's eyes moistened, but he wiped the tears away. He would just have to make due with what he had.

Arriving at the island's edge, Kallen noticed his field was actually in the water surrounding the island. Walking out on a wooden dock, he waited for his opponent, who arrived soon after. His opponent was a large guy, somewhere in his 20s. He had jet black hair, spiked to perfection. Around his neck were several chains as well as a few hanging off the belt loops in his pants. He wore a pair of baggy cargo shorts and black shirt with the sleeves ripped off, revealing his large biceps. A sneer appeared on his face when he saw Kallen. "You're my opponent?" He asked in disgust.

"Y-y-yes." Kallen answered, not looking his opponent in the eye.

"Well let's get this over with. Time to die, runt." The guy said, pulling out a Pokeball and throwing it into the air. "Go Sharpedo!" The light that emerged from the Pokeball hit the water and then disappeared, hiding the Pokemon in the water's depths. Suddenly a large fin popped out of the water, circling the battle field. "Alright, let's get going." The man said, a devilish smile appearing on his face.

Kallen gulped audibly, this was not going to go well. "Go, Riolu!" Kallen said, releasing the canine-like Pokemon to land on one of the few floating, wooden platforms that were in the arena. "RIO!" Riolu stated, eager for battle, unlike his trainer.

"Fighting type? God kid, you are out of your puny ass league. Sharpedo use Zen Headbutt!" The shark-like Pokemon burst from the water, it's forehead glowing a dull pink. Riolu's eyes grew wide as he tried to dodge, but Sharpedo was too fast and hit the canine-like Pokemon straight on. The hit knocked Riolu into the water, now truly helpless.

"Riolu! Quick, get back on land." Riolu nodded, paddling for a wooden platform.

"Sharpedo, use Crunch!" His opponent called, laughter touching his voice. Sharpedo dove beneath the water, obviously moving in for the kill. Riolu looked about frantically as it neared the platform. To his utter disbelief Riolu was able to haul himself up on the platform before Sharpedo launched its next attack. He looked about, trying to figure out where Sharpedo was going to come from next.

In a sudden spray of water, the platform beneath Riolu collapsed as Sharpedo burst from underneath, his jaws open for the kill. "Use Quick Attack to dodge." Kallen squeaked, barely getting the words out as tears sprung to his eyes. The stress and pain his Pokemon was feeling was his own. Managing to execute the maneuver, Riolu was able to position himself so as to use Sharpedo's side as a springboard for his Quick Attack, making it to a completely intact platform. A gasp of relief escaped from Kallen's lips, but he quickly caught it as he saw Riolu fall to one knew. Scratches and cuts crisscrossed his Pokemon's foot and leg.

"Look's like you have fallen prey to Sharpedo's Rough Skin. Really kid, you ought to read up if you are going to be playing with the big boys." Tears sprung to Kallen's eyes. He silently berated himself, of course he knew that, but it hadn't occurred to him in the moment. Oh well, he would have to carry on. "Riolu, can you keep going?" Kallen asked, choking back a sob. "RIOLU" Riolu reassured his trainer. The battle would continue.

Serena Finch

Serena fished the DataCard from her pocket, feeling it vibrate. Looking at it she saw the directions it gave her and instantly sped off on her motorcycle. She continued to read the card as she rocketed through the crowd, nearly killing a few people and even running over some unlucky guy's foot. She let out a sigh of frustration. It would appear that she was going to be battling on the normal battle field, just like she always had. Really? They couldn't even challenge her a little. Knowing it couldn't be helped, she shrugged it off.

Having broken ever speed limit, Serena reached her arena within just a few minutes. Killing the engine, she threw down her kickstand and took off her helmet, letting her black hair fall to her sides. It would appear her opponent hadn't shown up yet. These people were just wasting her time. About ten minutes later, an older woman stepped onto the field. At first Serena ignored her, figuring that she was too old to be a competitor. But after the woman stood there for a while, it dawned on her that this woman might actually be her opponent. Standing up she addressed the lady.

She was of average height, her gray hair curled meticulously. Her nose was set upwards, giving her the appearance of a snooty, pompous, rich, old fool, and if her clothing was anything, it was a testament to that. Dressed in a lavish gown she had stuck up snob written all over her. "Hey lady, you my opponent?" Serena asked, perturbed that she would have to put up with this women.

"Indeed." The woman said, drawing out the last part of the word for a few seconds. "Shall we begin?" Serena nodded, brandishing a Pokeball. At least try not to kill someone. The voice spoke in Serena's mind, sending an electric pulse through her body. So the beast speaks. Serena replied, teasing Entei for his long silence. Throwing the Pokeball into the air, an orb-shaped Pokemon appeared on the field. "Electrode!" The Pokemons said, its voice sounding somewhat automated.

"What a dull Pokemon." The snooty woman said, raising her nose higher as if to indicate her disdain. "You won't stand a chance against my Delcatty." The feline Pokemon emerged from its trainer's Pokeball, purring slightly. "Delcatty, use Slash!" The cat-like Pokemon purred again, signaling its attack. It lept forward, glowing claws outstretched.

"Electrode, use Magnet Rise!" Suddenly, the spherical Pokemon rose high into the air, dodging Delcatty's attack completely. "Now slam downward while using Gyro Ball." With Delcatty trapped under Electrode, it was impossible for the cat to dodge. In a spinning furry, the electric type Pokemon smashed into the dainty cat, who in turn let out a meow of pain.

"STOP! STOP! STOP!" The snooty woman cried, running out onto the field to her Pokemon. Electrode backed off, thoroughly confused as to what was happening, much like its trainer. Scooping up the hurt Delcatty in her arms, the pompous lady carried it off the field, running away as she cried. "I can't believe you just did that. How dare you?" Serena stared on for a second and then a fire leapt to her eyes. Was this lady really running away.

"GET BACK HERE, I WASN'T DONE WITH!" Serena chased after woman, fists curled and arms swinging.

Silver:

As Silver's datacard started flashing, it took him 5 seconds to notice and when he took it out, he looked at who his opponent was and where he would be battling said opponent:

Luke Koji

20 years old
Luke sported a mohican and stood at 5'9". He also wore a brown shirt and a light blue denim jacket with the sleeves ripped off and wore dark blue jeans with a few rips on them.

Beach Battlefield

"Looks like I'm on the beach field. This will be a fun fight, and I know exactly who to use." Silver said as he hopped onto his Salamence to make his way to the beach field, although he had to shake any uneasy feelings that he had and focus directly on the battles that lie ahead.

=/= 10 minutes later =/=

As he made his way to the beach battlefield, Silver looked from both sides for his opponent. It was then that he noticed a mohican similar to the one shown on his datacard "This must be the guy.", suddenly the guy, who saw his opponent making his descent, shouted from below,

"Hey you!" Luke shouted, almost knocking Silver off his Salamence. "I'd Watch it if I were you, if I didn't have total control of myself on top of my Salamence I'd be a pile of broken bones by now." "So what? let's get this started." Luke got out one of his pokeballs just as a group of people rolled in to watch the battle. Before Silver got out his pokeball, he felt a bit uneasy, but he ignored his feelings for now and threw his pokeball to start the battle.

=/= Anime OST - Johto Rival Battle =/=

"Krookodile, you're up first!" Luke called out, throwing his pokeball sending out a red bipedal Crocodile. "Hmph, ok then get out there Tyranitar." And just like that, a green dinosaur that looked like godzilla came out, and a vicious sandstorm soon followed.

"I'm sure he sent out Tyranitar to make full use of the battlefield, no matter he'll fall nonetheless." Luke thought upon the arrival of Silver's pokemon.

"Tyranitar, start off with Stealth Rock!" As commanded, a group of rocks appeared from the ground and disappeared for now.
"Krookodile, use Dragon Claw!" Luke Called out as Krookodile ran towards Tyranitar with glowing blue claws. "Imagine, imagine it as a Zangoose coming at you with its Crush Claw attack with you standing there doing nothing." Luke then said trying to intimidate Silver with past memories.
"Use Stone edge Tyranitar!" Two rings of rocks surrounded Tyranitar which then struck Krookodile knocking it back a few feet, then Luke responded, "You know rock type attacks don't do much on ground type pokemon."

"He's right, I'm gonna have to switch." Silver thought before recalling Tyranitar back into his pokeball. "Now Lucario get out there!" Lucario entered the fray doing a somersault, which didn't impress Luke one bit, however it did excite some of the croud. "Wow look at that Lucario go."

"Lucario, use Aura Sphere!" Silver called out doing the same actions that Lucario would do when using Aura Sphere, Luke told Krookodile to dodge, which seemed to work, however Silver prepared for this, by telling Lucario to fire more Aura Spheres which came in contact with Krookodile, knocking it out. Luke returned Krookodile to his pokeball, and before he sent out his next pokemon, he decided to irritate Silver once more.

=/= Music stopped =/=

"You think you're all that don't you? Thinking you have me all figured out, but you don't, in fact before this battle is through you will fear me and admit that you're a reckless son-of-a..."
"Watch what you say Koji, because there are young people watching us." Silver responded trying to act smart which Luke didn't take kindly to.

=/= Anime OST - Who is Stronger? Epic Battle! =/=

"Infernape, come on out!" As the energetic fire monkey came out, the Stealth Rock appeared and closed in on Infernape causing some damage, not to mention it also felt pain from the Sandstorm, then Luke forward to see Lucario unharmed. "Hey why isn't your Lucario getting hurt by the Sandstorm? Isn't it a fighting type?"
"Lucario is also part Steel type so Sandstorm does nothing to him, bring it on."

"Infenape, Flamethrower!" Infernape launched a powerful Flamethrower at the confident Lucario who launched a Dark Pulse to subdue the fire attack. Infernape then came at Lucario with a Mach Punch, to which Silver asked Lucario to stand his ground because he knew that Lucario can withstand the attack with its boosted stamina from drinking aprijuice made from yellow apricorns. There was a lot of two and throw from both sides, but eventually Silver decided to return Lucario to his pokeball.

=/= Anime OST - Johto Champion Battle =/=

"Tyranitar, come back out there!" Tyranitar came back out for another go, but Luke gave out a little snigger. "Is the pressure getting to you?" Silver wouldn't like to admit it, but Luke's earlier intimidating comments had gotten to him, but he was sure that Tyranitar could take on Infernape.

"Infernape, Close Combat!" Infernape ran towards Tyranitar, doing a considerable amount of damage to Tyranitar, before Silver finally commanded him to use Stone Edge sending Infernape flying hitting the ground a few moments later. Whilst Infernape was struggling to get back up, Silver took the opportunity to finish it with an earthquake, and as the earthquake subsided, Infernape was knocked out.

=/= Music Stopped =/=

With two pokemon down, Luke's back was against the wall, however he still had one more trick up his sleeve. "Winning against me will be harder than you think, especially with the pokemon I'm sending out last. Let's go Skarmory!"

=/= Anime OST - Kanto Champion Battle =/=

When Skarmory came out of its pokeball, Silver turned his attention to it, but only for a moment and thought. "A Skarmory huh? I haven't faced one of those in a while, but I'm still going to take it down." The Stealth Rocks closed in on Skarmory and caused some damage.
"Skarmory, go in for a Steel Wing attack!" Skarmory closed in on Tyranitar with his one of his wings turning metallic, Silver commanded Tyranitar to use Thunderpunch, and as both attacks collided, they looked even, but Luke wagged his finger in a tut tut tut manner. "Skarmory, strike with your other wing!" Skarmory's other wing turned metallic and struck under Tyranitar's chin, thus knocking it out.

"Arg... Lucario, get back out there!" Lucario somersaulted back onto the battlefield. "Use Aura Sphere!" As Lucario fired an Aura Sphere towards Skarmory, Skarmory countered with Air Slash firing two saw like energy blades, cutting the Aura Sphere in half. Silver was definately under pressure at this point, then Skarmory came at Lucario at full force with Brave Bird, but Lucario did a forward somersault to dodge, but before Lucario hit the ground, Skarmory hit from behind with Air Slash, then coming at him with Brave Bird, knocking it out.

Luke was feeling really confident at this point, having knocked out two of Silver's pokemon in one fell swoop. "You're all caught up in trying to win, that you lost sight about what is important, a bit sad really."
"Shut up, Luke I will defeat you, Electivire get out there!" Electivire came out of its pokeball, however not being a rock, steel or ground type, Electivire got hurt by Sandstorm. Alot of the crowd were surprised that Silver didn't send out Salamence as those two would have been a force to be reckoned with, but Silver had a strategy in mind for the final bout.

"Steel Wing, go!" Luke commanded as Skarmory came towards Electivire with its metallic wings, but then Electivire used his tails to dodge and then struck Skarmory's back with a Thunderpunch which ended up paralyzing it. "Great! Maybe I'll have a shot at winning this." Silver thought upon successfully striking Skarmory with a super effective hit, though it didn't seemed fazed as much as Silver had thought.
"Oh no, that kid might actually beat me, but I'm not done yet." Luke thought thinking that he might lose this battle.

=/= Anime OST - Johto Victory Battle Theme =/=

"Air Slash Skarmory!" as the two saw like energy blades came towards Electivire, Electivire countered with Protect, so Luke decided to end this now with a Steel Wing which prompted Silver to strike with another Thunderpunch, Luke was baffled by this strategy as this proved to be Tyranitar's downfall and as the two attacks collided, Silver had a smirk on his face. "Our attacks may be locked together, but there is a move that Electivire can use with it's other arm, Fire Punch Electivire!" Electivire's other arm was covered with fire and struck Skarmory's face, causing it to fall to the ground, and when the dust cleared, Skarmory had fallen and Silver was declared the winner.

=/= Music ends =/=

Luke shrugged his shoulders in shame upon his loss, he said nothing to his opponent other than lifting his hand and gave a 'so long' gesture as he left. Silver breathed a sigh of relief having defeating his first opponent soundly, and started to make his way back to the courtyard on top of his Salamence.

Steve:

Now that his industrial smoke bomb had been completed and is starting work to reproduce them should the first one is wasted, Steve turned his attention to his computer so he can keep tabs. Focusing his eyes on the screen so that he doesn't lose his target(s) and even though he had his eyes on one particular trainer, it looks as if said target is proving to be elusive.

"Hmm... Now where could that guy be?" He thought thinking back to a previous undercover operation. "Doesn't matter, I'll smoke him out, quite literally." Steve gave a resounding laugh a few moments later before stopping and refocusing his attention to the computer. "I'll give it one last scout around before I deploy another small surveilance droid and if worst comes to worst, I'll make my way there myself... in disguise of course." He monologued, but he paused a few moments later to see if anyone heard him.

Rivere (Guardian):

"So the event begins now." Rivere mused. The announcement had been short and to the point. The woman glanced at her DataCard, which, as explained, contained all the necessary information regarding the tournament.

Round: 1

Opponent: Mikhail Varcova

Arena: E

Time Remaining: 2 hours 59 minutes

The data was accompanied with a small picture of her opponent, along with some basic personal information. The man named Mikhail Varcova, hailing from Goldenrod city, was a 33-year-old man with stark blue eyes, short-cropped blonde hair. He looked quite confident in his picture. Though there were options to reveal further information, Rivere ignored them, and went straight to the GPS function of the DataCard, in order to locate Arena E. The island was actually pretty small, so 3 hours was far more than enough time to get to the stage. So, she decided to bide her time, taking a stroll along the rich pastures surrounding the castle. She admired the beautiful orchards, meticulously arranged in various patterns, and the various forms of exotic and rare flowers and plants that grew on them. She even released Virizion among her other Pokemon for a while, when she was sure noone was around.

However, throughout her walk, she could not shake off a troubling feeling that had creeped into hre thoughts. This person, Mikhail Varcova... she had a feeling she knew him from somewhere. It was unlikely he was an acquaintance - due to her travelling lifestyle, she made few real friends and far in-between, which made forgetting them unlikely. But...

She sighed. There was no use worrying too much about this. She checked the time - she had an hour or so before the match began, so she headed back to the courtyard, and from there took one of the roads that led close to Arena E. When she got there, she dropped by the Pokemon Center established nearby to take a short break, and made a few adjustments to her team. Virizion was not going to be fighting, of course, but she avoided transferring the legendary Pokemon to storage. She would have to choose five Pokemon, and use three out of them in battle. She smiled as she swapped Tropius for the more battle-ready Shiftry and Ludicolo. These children, even after having evolved to their final forms, were always itching for a fight. Her trusty Roserade and Torterra were also included. For her final Pokemon, she chose Ninetales, a break from her Grass-based lineup. It occured to her that she had not verified what type of battlefield she'd be fighting on - but there were only a few minutes left before the fight began, so there was no time for that.

When she arrived at the arena, her opponent was already there. Arena E turned out to be a jungle-based area, full of lush greenery, tall trees and bushes that limited visibility and made moving around quite complicated. Two platforms had been raised on either side, to allow the trainers to stand and supervise the battlefield. Mikhail Varcova was standing on top of the one on the other side, arms crossed in front of his chest. He was dressed in a black suit which emphasized his athletic frame. He was staring at her confidently, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Hello, miss Sage." He greeted her, his voice, though polite, cold as ice. "Though we've never met before... I was hoping you'd remember me. By your expression, I assume you haven't... yet." Rivere looked at him oddly. His very presence unsettled her.

"It was something of fate that led us to meet each other on the field of battle from the very first round, I'm sure." Mikhail continued, smirking. "Here, I can finally put an end to you... the one who put an end to my dream, all those years ago."

And then Rivere remembered. The headlines from a newspaper she had read while resting at a cafe in Fallarbor, which had hastily caused her to rush off to the edge of the Hoenn region... Renowned Pokemon Trainer and entrepreneur Mikhail Varcova announces plan to level part of the northern Petalburg Forest in order to expand the habitable ettlements around the city

"You..." Rivere gritted her teeth. "You were the one who wanted to burn down that forest..." She felt her anger flare up, resonating with the flames in her memory, the all-consuming blaze that had claimed the lives of many Pokemon, many that she hadn't been able to protect... "It was your project..." Amongst the spectators who had gathered, many gasped - most of them had been here because they knew or had heard of either Rivere or Mikhail, so this connection between them came as a shock to them.

"It would have been my project, if you had not stopped it." Mikhail spat, all pretense of nicety gone from his voice. "You... I did research on you. I know you have it..." His voice dropped to a whisper. "I will have my revenge on you, and that thing..."

Rivere shivered. He knew about Virizion... could he actually have a plan against the legendary Pokemon? She wouldn't put anything past him, not with what he had done. At the same time, her own anger was rising.

"I'll take you down." She snarled. "And when I do, you'll vanish off the face of the world." She grabbed a Pokeball from her belt, enlarging it. Mikhail mimicked her, chuckling. The countdown on the electronic clock stationed on the side of the arena ticked to zero, and the referee, who had been watching the exchange silently, gave them the signal to begin.

"Go, Shiftry!" Rivere commanded. A burst of white light exploded from the opened Pokeball, releasing the white-maned forest ogre. Shiftry, perfectly at home in the jungle, jumped up to a tree, carefully positioning itself.

"Magmortar!" Mikhail barked. The huge crimson-and-gold volcanic Pokemon, a cannon grafted into its arm, appeared, roaring defiantly. "See, I researched you. You use mostly Grass-type Pokemon - they won't stand a chance against my Fire-types!"

"Type advantage isn't everything!" Rivere snapped. "I'll end this here! Shiftry, Faint Attack!" The forest Pokemon suddenly disappeared, becoming one with the jungle. A shadow sped across the ground, darting around Magmortar, which stood still -

"Magmortar, turn around and use Fire Punch!" Just as Shiftry materialized from the shadow, poised to attack, Magmortar spun at incredible speed and slammed its fist, which was enveloped in surging flames, into its torso. Shiftry howled, reeling backwards. Rivere was stunned - Magmortar's speed was unreal!

"I was a Pokemon Trainer long before you even began your journey, miss Rivere." Mikhail said gravely. "I am stronger than you are. Magmortar, Fire Blast!" The five-pronged burning star formed from the Pokemon's cannon.

"Shiftry, dodge it!" Rivere called desperately. But it was too late. Shiftry could not move out in time - and the devastating fire attack slammed into him, knocking him against a nearby tree, which was enveloped in a pillar of flame. When the blast cleared, her Pokemon was on the ground, eyes spinning.

"Shiftry is unable to battle! Magmortar wins!" The referee called, raising a red flag in favor of Mikhail. The display showing both sides' available Pokemon greyed Shiftry out, leaving Rivere with only two choices.

Wordlessly, the female trainer recalled her fallen Pokemon. She glanced at the Pokeball sorrowfully. Sorry... I let my anger get the better of me, and you paid the price for it. She held the item to her chest for a brief moment, before replacing it on her belt. She returned her focus to the field.

He's strong... as far as speed and power are concerned, I don't think I can match him. And the only Pokemon in my party that are not weak to Magmortar's fire attacks are Ludicolo and Ninetales. What should I do...

"Come on, miss Rivere. The world is waiting." Mikhail laughed, spreading his arms. "I promise I will make a spectacle of your defeat!"

Ice walked away from the battle arena eager to check into her hotel room and lay down the burden of her bags. As she walked Ice noticed Kallen having trouble fighting the Sharpedo, but knew she couldn’t do anything but hope for the boy. Ice’s brow furrowed, hating the helplessness she always felt her whole life, but she brushed away the thought turning away from the battlefield, and back towards her hotel.

Entering her hotel Ice set down her suitcases deciding she would unpack later, but for now wanted to enjoy the nature of the island, but first picking out three of her Pokemon should anybody wish to challenge her, selecting Swanna, Delcatty, and Dragonair, and clipped them to her waist.; Ice, almost as soon as she had arrived left the hotel room to get a feel for the island.

Ice elected to again venture near the harbor, far enough away were Kallen couldn’t really see her, but she would have a general idea of the battle at hand. Taking her shoes off Ice stuck her bare feet into the water, and released Delcatty brushing it lovingly as she watched the battle. Ice giggled at the Pokemon who came nibbling at her toes mistaking them for food.

Unown watched the battle between Designation 'Ice' and Cory Sanders. The battle ended quickly in a battle for Ice, but despite information, she didn't use her Legendary Pokemon. Either she didn't have one, or she was still concealing it - quite understandable due to the looming danger of Team Purity. While Nickname 'Urlugal' did make mistakes, N.N had confirmed the presence on this one. There may or may not be one on the other target, but this one was a definite. Unown's only job was to identify it.

Masterfully, Unown followed ice away from the battle arena and back to her hotel, and then towards the harbor. This was quickly proving to be a laborous mission, but Unown could not fail N.N. She seemed to treat Pokemon serenely, and it appeared that she wouldn't be revealing the identity of her Legendary anytime soon. Very well. Unown quickly devised a plan, floated up high into the sky while she was still occupied with the water, and let itself drop.

A mere moment later, Ice would see from her point of view that an Unown - a rare Pokemon in and of itself - had dropped out of the sky and landed near the harbor, seemingly unconscious.

"Wait, seriously? That Pikachu is your only Pokemon?" His opponent asked him, and suddenly began laughing out, unable to control himself. Taking out a Pokeball, a huge turtle-like creature materialized. "Ahahaha- aahaha- you didn't even evolve it! It'll be no match for my Blastoise, and I still have two others! AHHAHAHAH oh my god I never thought that this match would be so easy- ahahahah- AHAHAHAHA!!!! Hey, hey, would you like a Thunderstone, just to increase your lowly chances?"

"You may find Urlugal's talent greater than you realize." N.N replied in an annoyed tone, and signaled for the electric mouse to come forth and jump off his shoulder. When it did, he touched his black crown and steadied it. The Pikachu seemed to be really annoyed with this trainer as well, although it still remained friendly to its opponent Pokemon.

"What kind of idiot names a Pokemon like that anyway?..ahahah....oh god, really, hey, hey, you sure you don't wanna surrender right now? Your Pikachu's gonna seriously suffer a beating once we begin, so I really think you should back out while you still can, little prince-"

"Urlugal. Thunder."

~Fate/Zero OST - The Battle Is To The Strong~

By then, the little Pikachu had already charged up unbelievable amounts of electrical energy, so much that a large amount had physically materialized around it as a kind aura - and on command, it fired all of this immediately into a single, gigantic lightning strike that fired at Blastoise. No, 'fired at' was the wrong word. 'Fired at' implies it could still be dodged or blocked via the order of a trainer, but at such speed, there was no time for the trainer could order it anything. The most powerful electrical attack connected with it instantaneously, and sent it flying several meters despite its weight, and its trainer had to jump out of the way to avoid it. When the Blastoise had hit the ground again, it was already unconscious.

It was convenient that they were battling in a grassland.

"You...how was that possible.....?" The trainer narrowed his eyes, finally realizing the danger that N.N posed. "Alright, I'll take you seriously. Come forth, Blaziken!"

Registration Office

Terra sighed as the boy she was trying to talk to had left, without even acknowledging her presence. Perhaps he didn't hear her or something. Regardless, she headed straight for the registration office, where she had no problem signing up to the tournament. On the way back however, some meat-head who'd been cutting in line via brute force had pushed another guy straight into her... more specifically straight into her chest.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry," the supposed victim said, "I got pushed by this jackass and..."

"It's OK, I saw the whole thing," Terra stated, "You alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Name's Jamie, by the way,"

"Nice to meet you. I'm Terra," the two shook hands after Terra said this, "Well, I better get going,"

With that, Terra left for an arena.

Preliminary Battle

A Rampardos was charging straight for Terra's Garchomp without a care in the world, moving as fast as its body would allow, and gathering as much momentum for its Head Smash attack as possible. But Terra had other ideas. On order, Garchomp thrust its arms straight into the ground, creating an earthquake that was more than powerful enough to not only throw Rampardos off-course, but also send it careening into a nearby pillar, causing it to faint instantly. However, the trainer, probably the same meat-head that pushed Jamie into Terra in the first place, returned Rampardos to its Pokeball, seemingly unphazed by the loss.

"Heh, Rampardos was meant to die," he stated, taking out a second Pokeball, "But now you face some real..."

"I'm sorry, meant to die?" Terra asked mockingly, "Well... either you're trying to cover up the fact that you lost, or you're more of a noob than I thought..."

"Grrr, take that back! Haxorus, I choose YOU!!" the trainer exclaimed, hurling the Pokeball into the air with all his might, out coming a forest green Dragon-type Pokemon with scimitar-shaped blades across its jaw-line, "Haxorus, teach that bitch a lesson with Outrage!"

"Garchomp, use your own Outrage!" Terra commanded.

The king's speech was certainly short, and the Monarch indeed knew how to keep his points simple and easy to digest for even the most unintelligent person that might be under his reign. It was no wonder he was such a popular king; he oozed regalness and charisma, and he knew how to talk to his people. Even had they lived in a democracy, Clement found himself under the distinct impression that this man would've been voted in anyway; even the Absol at his side seemed to serve as a sign of his right to rule - it must've been twice the size of an average Absol, and it was obvious that it was strong.

Clement chuckled to himself at the thought of taking that thing on; perhaps the king could provide a challenge for him. Sadly, that would probably never happen, for there were more important duties for a monarch than entertaining the challenges of his subjects. Instead, Clement merely made an obviously ignored nod of appreciation for the simpleness of the speech, allowing them to get on with the main business of battling much quicker.

Clement took out the DataCard from his jacket pocket and read only what he needed to read; where the battle was held. He assumed that the battles would be starting pretty much instantly, so he headed straight for his arena, named rather ambiguously as 'Arena X', though it was probably merely an alpha-numeric method of sorting the arenas; no doubt there were some numbered ones as well, perhaps even mixed. Not that it mattered much, the directions to his arena were described one his DataCard and that's all he needed.

Past the Royal Gardens, that's where his Arena was. The Gardens themselves were unusually empty, with only one person ahead of him, just leaving the gardens. Something peaked his interest though, the silhouette of a pokémon she had out being returned. A giant stag, thats all he saw. Just the outline of it. Sure, it could be a Sawsbuck or a Stantler, but it didn't look like one. No, it looked like...

Nah, he needed to stay focussed. A battle was soon. Even if the opponent was probably rubbish and talentless, he needed to focussed anyway.

He could feel Suicune in the back of his mind trying to warn him about its possible importance, but Clement took little notice of it, instead turning and exiting the gardens through a different path, towards his own arena, and his own battle.

~~~
As he turned up to his Arena, his opponent was already there; a young, scrawny boy, not even looking at the arena or Clement, but at a laptop his was balancing precariously on his forearm while he typed away furiously with the other hand. Clement chuckled at the boy and moved to his own side of the frosty arena, with a thinly frozen lake kept cold through a variety of weather changing machines around the edge of the field.
At the sound of Clement's laughter, the boy lifted head slightly, taking a quick measure of his opponent before beginning to type again, finishing with a exaggerated pressing of the enter button. With that, he closed the lid of the laptop and placed it in a bag resting on his hip, turning to face Clement as he finished.
"I have read your file, researched your entire pokémon spread and calculated every stragegy you could possibly unleash, along with the maximum power outage of each of your pokémon, and devised a strategy taking all these into account, alongside the arena layout. No matter what you do, I am prepared." The boy said, pushing his glasses further up his nose as he reached for one of the pokéballs at his side.
"Snover shall start my team, using his Snow Warning ability to take advantage of the field, producing an extra powerful Hail weather." The boy declared, releasing the small yeti pokémon onto the field. Almost as soon as the pokémon was released, a fierce blizzard seemed to spring from nowhere, obscuring a large amount of the field from view, so much so that the Snover seemed to disappear from Clement's line of sight; the boy himself was only visible due to their height above the field.
Clement chuckled again at the boy's confidence, picking a pokéball seemingly at random from his pocket and tossing it into the field. "I guess I'll have to fix this 'advantage' of yours then. Donphan, you're up." He called, a flash of light emerging from the pokéball a second after he called the name. It was indeed Donphan, and the choice of pokémon provided Clement's opponent his turn to laugh.
"You're worse a trainer than I thought. I had expected Quilava, or at least something with some sort of advantage over Snover. A ground type? It's as if you're unaware that both Ice and Grass, the two types of Snover, are both super-effective against him! Blizzard should give me a victory." The boy sniggered, causing Clement to sigh and ignore him.
"Sandstorm, Donphan. Get rid of this pesky Hail." He commanded, removing the hail from field and replacing it with a barrage of sand appearing from nowhere. This seemed to not be in the challenger's preparations, strangely enough; as such, the Blizzard's reduced accuracy caused it to miss, the rain of ice veering off past the arena and into the sky. "Rollout now, dont let up. Give him no openings." Clement added. Donphan obeyed instantly, curling into a ball and rolling towards the Snover, causing cracks in the thin ice that formed the floor of the arena.
The boy looked slightly shocked at the turn of events, and Snover's current situation did look bad, but the boy shook his head and gritted his teeth. "It's all part of my strategy." He lied, feigning confidence as he commanded his Snover again. "Wood hammer with the next rollout." The Snover nodded, bringing his arm down aggressively on the next approach of the Donphan. As Clement had planned, ironically enough.
"Return Donphan, you've had enough." Clement muttered, calling his pokémon back to its pokéball soon after the wood-hammer hit, which almost forced Donphan to collapse anyway. The recoil though sent Snover down to an incredibly low amount of health, almost forcing his own collapse. Which wasn't good news, for almost as soon as Donphan was returned, the ice that formed the arena collapsed, revealing the field of water below. Into which Snover dropped, struggling to resurface, forcing its owner to return it.
"Onto the next pokémon then?" Clement called, chuckling. The boy probably hadn't prepared for this. "Lumineon's my choice. What about you?"
Jackson (Trainer):
"Go, Cloyster! Hydro Pump!"
The shell-covered Pokemon unleashed a powerful water pulse against its target - but the opposing Pokemon, a round thing resembling a stone statue with crossed arms and legs, seemed impervious to it. Jackson growled in frustration.
"Surprised?" His opponent, a tall, handsome young man with sleek black hair wearing a red overcoat, said mirthfully. "Darmanitan's Zen Mode vastly increases its defenses - you won't beat it that easily! Darmanitan, Work Up!" The statue-like Pokemon growled, its body glowing with energy.
Jackson gritted his teeth. The battle had begun 5 minutes ago, on Arena J, which turned out to be a seaside arena. He had thought he had the advantage here, especially with his opponent, some 24-year-old Hawthon Jenkins, looking like a typical airhead. However, the trainer was proving fairly tough already. He had allowed his Darmanitan to take a direct Hydro Pump hit, and then it had transformed into this statue form. Hawthon had used Work Up twice so far, raising Darmanitan's attack and special attack.
He's clearly aiming at a long term strategy. He wants to keep Darmanitan in battle... maybe he's planning on using some health recovery move. His eyes widened. That's it! When the thing got injured, it changed into this defensive form - if it recovers its health, it may change back into its previous form, which combined with Work Up will possess overwhelming strength!
"Cloyster, return!" He said hastily. His opponent chuckled as the oyster Pokemon was withdrawn in a blur of red light.
"Foolish move. You gave me the opening I needed! Darmanitan, Rest!" The Pokemon's eyes closed, and it was surrounded in an emerald light. Slowly, as the bruises inflicted by Cloyster's attacks began fading, the creature's color changed back to its original red.
"Go, Crobat!" The bat Pokemon was released from its Pokeball, flapping its wings fiercely.
"If you think Darmanitan is defenseless just because it's asleep, you've made a big mistake! Darmanitan knows Sleep Talk!"
"Crobat, Confuse Ray!" Jackson ordered. A flash of light surrounded Darmanitan, and its closed eyes began waiving slightly as it wavered.
"Oh no!" Hawthon realized what his opponent had been going for. Jackson smirked - Darmanitan's attack had been raised exponentially, but that worked against it in its confused state... "Darmanitan, snap out of it!" But the command was useless. The confused Darmanitan launched itself against a nearby rock with all its might, smashing it to pieces. The impact knocked the ape Pokemon several feet back, where it stood up, bleary. It began shifting into its Zen Mode again -
"Crobat, Brave Bird!" As ordered, Crobat transformed into a blur of light, slamming against Darmanitan at full force before the mode change was completed. The recoil from Brave Bird was hefty, and caused Crobat to reel into the sky. But the price was worth it - the tough Fire-type Pokemon had been knocked out completely.
"Darmanitan is unable to battle! Crobat wins!" The referee declared.
"You..." Hawthon retrievered Darmanitan. "For an old timer, you're pretty crafty... but good luck beating my next Pokemon!" He threw a Pokeball into the air, which snapped open. "Go, Bronzong!"
Jackson looked skeptically at the bell-shaped steel Pokemon. At first glance, Crobat hardly stood a chance, its Poison type being completely ineffective to the Steel-type Pokemon, which also possessed powerful Psychic type moves. Jackson also owned a Bronzong, so he knew exactly how disadvantageous the situation was... but he also knew that Crobat possessed a move that could work against Bronzong.
"Bronzong, Psychic!" Hawthon barked.
"Counter it with Shadow Ball!" Jackson ordered. Crobat unleashed a sphere of pure dark energy which ripped through the psychic waves cast by its opponent. The collision ended in a blast, with neither side prevailing.
"Use Confuse Ray!" Jackson pressed on.
"Not this time! Hypnosis!" Bronzong's hypnotic wave overwhelmed Crobat's confusion attack, and the flying Pokemon fell to the ground, already in deep sleep.
"Dream Eater!" Hawthon commanded before Jackson could react. A flash of purple energy surrounded Crobat, and was then absorbed into Bronzong's body. The flying Pokemon tried to rise weakly, before collapsing.
"Crobat is unable to battle! Bronzong wins!" The referee exclaimed. Jackson and Hawthon had both revealed two of their Pokemon, and both lost one of them. The old captain knew he had to make a good call - but the Pokemon he owned with the most decisive type advantage against Bronzong was not in his party right now.
Ice was relaxing peacefully, and was just about to close her eyes when a black streak flashed in front of her eyes. Bolting up Ice scanned the docks for any sign of what had just flashed pasted her eyes. After a few moments the blue haired girl’s eyes rested on a small black mound a few feet away. Quickly drying her feet, and slipping on her sneakers she got up and walked over to the mound.
Nearing the small mound Ice noticed it was actually a Pokemon and ran the rest of the way to collapsed Pokemon’s side. Picking it up Ice noticed it was an Unknown, which surprised her, as she thought they dwelled in ruins, and assumed it must have been another Trainer’s Pokemon. Another strange thing she noticed was that it didn’t have any marks or scratches on it, or any marks of battle for that matter, which she thought as odd, but took nothing of it. Deciding it would be best to take it to the receptionist area, to see if anybody had reported a lost Unknown first the young girl cradled Unknown against her body.
“We’ll get you help soon, okay?” Ice whispered to the small Pokemon. Delcatty also ventured shortly behind her Trainer, jealous of the attention the new Pokemon was getting, purring against her Trainer’s leg, which caused her to laugh.
Dr. Elias was quite annoyed when N.N stepped on to the scene giving a gruff sound to the grunt stepping on scene, which the doctor took to be interference with his surveillance.
“What is that idiot doing!?” Elias growled.
Moira again looked up to see what the doctor was doing, bored at waiting for the program to finish. “Well, maybe he’s doing his job tracking down the Legendary Pokemon. You know, like were supposed to be doing, and don’t make such unintelligible sounds… it doesn’t suit you,” the other scientist said placing her head on her hand, and pushing her silver hair behind her ear.
“I don’t see you killing any of the beasts,” Elias said sending the younger woman a glare, who simply turned her computer screen in his direction, “you may have that, but do you actually have any fruits for your labor?”
“Actually I do, and I didn’t even need to use that program,” Moira said giving an amused look at outsmarting the doctor, “you see had you actually been paying attention to the conversation at hand between the two children you would know that the younger boy brought up the subject of Legendary Pokemon. Now that, for me at least, would be a warning bell that he might actually have a Legendary Pokemon.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention to the frivolous conversation of two idiot teenagers, while trying to acquire the one that I could turn into a super weapon,” Elias shot back growing annoyed with Moira.
“No, you were stalking a moe nearly 50 years younger that you,” Moira replied giving the doctor a look, “now I’m going to go see if I can get the androgynous ninja to retrieve them for me.”
Exiting the R&D Command Room Moira ventured down the hall to Steve’s room tapping on it with her knuckle, “Open up, I have a job for you.”
Richard Samson & Aya Minatoshi
"I wonder how easy it would be to put a bullet in his head?" Richard wondered, glaring up at the King as he made his speech, a threatening grin plastered on his face. He reached for the holster under his arm pit, placing his hand inside his jacket to do so, but ended up thinking better of it; passing it off as reaching for his phone, which he brought out and glanced at, leaving it in his hand as his arm dropped to his side.
Aya sighed and turned away from the king as he disappeared back into his castle, beginning to move towards her match. "No you dont." She proclaimed, rather nonchalantly. "You know that would be an easy shot for you. You've just got too much military still in youu; you'll obey orders, especially your own."
Richard chuckled and shook his head slightly. "Yeah, I suppose. Your sharpness makes you sexy, y'know." He grinned, placing an arm around her shoulders as he caught up to her. She seemed to pay no attention, her entire focus transfixed by her DataCard, scanning through the information on her next opponent, a man by the name of Jerry Parker; a 6'7 monolith of a man, with tanned skin, rippling muscles and multiple tattoos. Criminal Record as well, for extreme violence and such, especially when it came to pokémon battling. Seeing this made Richard grin, almost laughing at the ridiculous nature of the challenge. "Looks like you've got an easy time, Aya. I'll come watch you before my battle."
Aya shrugged, removing his arm at the same time as showing her indifference to the battle. "We've got a mission to do, no man will get in my way." She proclaimed, removing a pokéball from the belt at her waste as she approached her arena; a simple grasslands area, perfect for her pokémon.
Her oppenent stood at the other end of the arena, apparently impatient for the battle to start, and gave Richard a glowering look. Richard waved it away, winking at Aya before moving to the side of the arena, just outside the battle zone.
"Let's begin the battle then." Aya stated, getting only an angry grunt in return. She took little notice of it, throwing her pokéball at the arena. "Luxray, you're up first." She called as the electrified lion-like pokémon erupted from its pokéball in a shower of sparks. True, a rocky field or a field with lots of obstructions for Luxray's ability to see through walls, but open fields still worked with the Pokémon.
The mountain of a man at the other end of the arena grunted again before throwing his own pokémon, calling "Granbull," with a rather gruff voice. The purple bulldog growled violently at the opposing Luxray, anxious for the battle to start.
Another simple, two word command came from the Granbull's owner - "Double Edge" - to which the Granbull replied with a battle-cry before charging towards Luxray at high speed, aiming for a devastating impact.
Luckily, Luxray was a lot faster than Granbull, and easily managed to dart to side. "Thunder Fang." Aya called as the Granbull stopped itself, and Luxray obliged, launching itself at the dog pokémon and dealing a large amount of damage as electricity surrounded the wound, causing Granbull to cry out in pain as spark flew around her.
Aya grinned to herself and allowed the opponent the chance to recuperate, before going back on the offensive. "Crunch, then add Fire Fang to the mix!" She called, and Luxray obeyed once again, rushing forward and delivering a painful crunch to the Granbull's neck, followed by a plume of fire engulfing his fangs, and by extension Granbull's neck, causing the pokémon to faint quite quickly.
Richard gave a quick round of applause as Luxray bounded back towards Aya, and Jerry reached for his next pokéball. "Onix." He said dully, causing Aya to wince slightly. Luxray would be all but useless against a ground/rock type like Onix, with all his attacks being resisted.
"Come back Luxray, you'll have another chance." She said, returning the lion to his pokéball. "You're up next Mightyena. Deliver some pain with an Ice Fang!" She called, launching her pokéball right towards the giant rock-snake. In mid-air, the wolf pokémon erupted from the pokéball, landing on top of the Onix's head and biting down hard onto its face, causing the area around the wound to freeze over.
Still, that was the only move that any of Aya's pokémon knew that would take some significant health from the rock-type, which worried Aya. She needed a strategy, one that didn't revolve around the Ice Fang.
Serena Finch
Serena hunched over, out of breath and legs sore. Despite her opponent's dainty appearance she had some legs on her. It would appear that Serena would have to let that pompous snob get away. Serena cursed herself for not grabbing her bike, she could easily have run that woman down. on her motorcycle. Voltorb floated up to its trainer, Magnet Rise still in effect. "Torb?" Serena looked at her Pokemon. It seemed as if it was asking what they should do next. "I honestly have no idea." Serena said, standing up straight after catching her breath.
Kallen Colverson
"Riolu, use Force Palm!" Kallen said, urging his Pokemon on. The battle between the Sharpedo was a difficult one. The shark-like Pokemon had the field advantage, but Kallen's Riolu had the type advantage. Based on that, it could go either way, but Riolu was still suffering from Sharpedo's Rough Skin ability. Kallen had to end this fast, before things got out of hand. Riolu jumped high above the water, spotting the circling Sharpedo in its depths. Angling himself downward, Riolu pounced on the Pokemon, slamming into it with a Force Palm. There was an explosion of water, throwing both Riolu and Sharpedo in the air. Each conveniently landed on the docks in front of their trainers. Riolu had hit home with the attack, but Rough Skin had done its deed and knocked Riolu right out. So far it was a tie.
"I gotta give you props, kid. But most of that belongs to your Pokemon, you don't know the first thing about being a trainer, runt." Kallen's opponent returned his Sharpedo and brought out his second Pokemon. "Go, Huntail!" A blue, eel-like Pokemon appeared from the PokeBall, diving into the waters before Kallen got a good look at it. Taking out his Pokedex, Kallen scanned the opposing Pokemon.
367.png
Huntail
(Water)
It lives deep in the sea. With a tail shaped like a small fish, it attracts unsuspecting prey.
Kallen eyed the waters warily. He had already seen how having a water type Pokemon could make or break a battle. "Go, Azumarill" Out of Kallen's PokeBall appeared a round rabbit-like Pokemon. "Huntail, use Crunch on that little bunny!" From out of the water burst the eel-like Pokemon, fangs bared. Kallen closed his eyes. This guy was right. He was meant to be a trainer and all he was doing was getting his Pokemon hurt. He brought up his Pokeball to return Azumarill before she got hurt, but stopped when he heard the loud smack that followed. Opening his eyes, Kallen watched with wonder at the scene in front of him.
Acting of her own accord, Azumarill had used Superpower to smack Huntail away, dealing some massive damage. Still acting on her own, Azumarill jumped into the water, searching for her opponent. Seeing the dazed Huntail she let loose a haunting set of notes, using Sing to lull the Pokemon into a sleep. Jetting over to it, she brought to the Pokemon onto one of the floating platforms and set up to use a move. Jumping into the air, Azumarill hit Huntail with a powerful Slam, ending the battle with a knockout.
Looking back at her trainer, Azumarill gave Kallen a look that told him that she hadn't given up, so neither should he. Tears sprang to his eyes, but not out of fear this time, but out of the proud feeling for his Pokemon. "Right." Kallen said, wiping the tears away. He was back in this.
"Holy crap kid, maybe you should just let your Pokemon do the fighting for you." His opponent snarled, showing off his contempt. "You don't have a prayer against my next Pokemon! Go Mandibuzz!"
"Return, Azumarill." Kallen may be a kid, but he wasn't an idiot. There was no way that Azumarill could take on a flying type here. Sure, she could escape into the water, but there was only so long that, that would work. No, this battle had to be taken to the sky. "Go, Togekiss!" The angelic Pokemon took to the field, doing an aerial loop as she appeared from her Pokeball. Always the super star. "Let's do this, Togekiss."
"Alright kid, don't even bother. That dainty thing doesn't stand a chance. Mandibuzz, use Dark Pulse." The large vulture Pokemon shot a blast of black, spiraling energy at Kallen's Togekiss, hurtling towards the Pokemon with deadly accuracy.
"Togekiss, Aura Sphere." The fighting type attack, rocketed towards the nearing Dark Pulse. The two attacks collided. After a moment of struggle, Aura Sphere shredded the Dark Pulse, having a major type advantage and continued its path towards the opposing Mandibuzz. In a flurry of wings and feathers, the large bird was able to dodge the attack, by only a little.
"Follow up with Metronome!" Kallen hadn't ever battled like this before, so offensively, so bravely. It felt alien...but strangely good. The tips of Togekiss's wings began to glow as she waved them to and fro. Finally something began to happen. Kallen had seen this enough times to realize that his date with chance hadn't pulled off. Togekiss's Metronome had turned into Psychic. While normally this would be great news, psychic type attacks weren't effective against Dark types. This was bad. But an idea sprang to mind. "Use Psychic on the water!" Togekiss responded quickly changing the target of the attack to the water. The psychic pulse surrounded the water, picking it up into the air. "TOGEKISS!" The angelic Pokemon roared, as she let the attack disperse, dumping gallons of water onto the flying Pokemon.
Feathers wet and soggy, Mandibuzz began to lose altitude. It was time to finish this. "Aura Sphere." The light blue orb shot from Togekiss's wing tips, hitting their mark. The battle was over.
Rook Tacitus
"Sudowoodo, use Hammer Arm!" Rook commanded. He had been battling his opponent for quite some time now, and they were each down to their last Pokemon. Sudowoodo, a rock type, facing off against a Golem, another rock type. The battle was a draw in type advantage, but Golem's bulky mass was proving hard for Sudowoodo to deal any real damage to, but likewise Sudowoodo's more limber frame was allowing for him to dodge more of the behemoth's slow attacks.
Sudowoodo launched the fighting type attack at his opponent, catching the large Pokemon in the back. Normally the blow would be crippling, but it would seem that this Pokemon's defense was more than a match for Sudowoodo. Rook looked to his opponent. A young girl with bright pink. Despite her friendly disposition, her Pokemon were all strong and powerful. A Tyranitar had been her first Pokemon, taking out Archeops after a fairly short battle. Her Tyranitar later fell to Armaldo, who in turn landed a draw with her Aggron. Now it was all up to Sudowoodo. "Golem, use Rollout." Taking advantage of Sudowoodo's close range, the large Pokemon grabbed hold of the tree-esque Pokemon and slammed him down on the ground, before proceeding to conduct a powerfully effect Rollout on top of the helpless Pokemon.
"Get that brute off of you with Slam!" Eager to accommodate his master's wishes, Sudowoodo use Slam on the rock type Pokemon, sending it flying into the air, still curled up in its Rollout. "You've just made a meteor out of boulder." Rook's opponent said, happy to see the continuance of her advantageous streak. "You underestimate use, Stephanie. Sudowoodo, use Stone Edge." A barrage of sharp stones launched towards the falling Pokemon, dealing some damage as well as stopping the Rollout. The meteor was being reduced to rubble. As Golem continued its descent, Sudowoodo set up for one final move. "Wood Hammer!" With a crash and small explosion of dust, the battle was over.
Artorigus looked at his DataCard, comparing the picture of his opponent to the woman that stood before him. She was in her early 20s with blonde hair. Double checking, he confirmed that the woman in front him was actually his opponent. He touched the Pokeballs that sat clipped to his belt. 6 of them. One contained Keldeo, whom Kaeden had called back into the Pokeball before meeting his opponent. He wanted to make sure his opponent had no idea what kind of weapon he had in store should he need to use it.
"You ready to get this thing started?" Kallen asked.
"I thought you would never ask." The woman threw out a Pokeball calling out a powerful looking Electivire. Kallen looked at the Pokemon. It was definitely going to be a tough power, should the Pokemon's appearance advocate for anything. It was more muscular than any other Electivire he had ever seen and had a look about it that said 'I mean business'.
"Go! Simisear!" The fiery monkey Pokemon took to the field, a happy smile etched on its face. "Simi?" Simisear asked, confused about what was happening. "I know he looks tough, but you can take him." Kaeden reassured. Nodding, Simisear turned back to the battle.
"Electivire, use Thunder Punch!" The hulking monster charged forward, moving impossibly fast for its size and hit Simisear straight on with a powerful blow. Simisear was thrown backwards, but allowed the attack to propel him towards the ground, slipping behind his opponent.
"Nice move, now use Flame Burst." A small oval-shaped fire ball appeared in Simisear's hands. Taking advantage of Electivire's position, he fired on the electric Pokemon's back. The fire attack hit, causing the Pokemon to lurch forward slightly. Recovering from the attack, he whipped around, ready to face any challenge.
"Electivire! Use Giga Impact!" With the same amazing speed, the Electivire charged towards Simisear, A powerful aura surrounded Electivire as he charged, trailing behind him. "Quick! Use Dig!" The monkey-like Pokemon sunk below the ground, dodging the Giga Impact completely. Kaeden's opponent let out a frustrated yell. Now her Pokemon would have to recharge.
"Come up from under him!" Simisear's fist appeared below the still Electivire, smashing him backwards, causing him to stumble. "Now use Fire Punch!" Simisear went in for the kill, hitting the large Pokemon with his ignited fist. It appeared as if it was done. Electivire lay on his back, unmoving. Just as Kaeden began to congratulate Simisear though, the behemoth stirred. It would appear that that the battle was not yet over. Unfortunately, Simisear didn't notice.
In a lightning fast movement, Electivire grabbed Simisear by the foot, hoisting him into the air. "Now THUNDER PUNCH!" Electivire threw Simisear up into the air and as the Pokemon came back down, he hit the following Simisear with a powerful Thunder Punch, sending him careening into a nearby tree. Rubbing his head, Simisear stood up, a new fire in his eyes.
"Thunder Punch, again!" "Counter with Fire Punch!"
Clement Calvinson
"Go Magneton!" The boy called, gaining new confidence in his decision as the three headed machine appeared hovering above the water. Not only was the Electric-type super effective against the Lumineon, but its steel typing meant that the Sandstorm that was still in effec, albeit starting to dwindle, would cause no harm to Magneton, while Lumineon would still be injured by it whenever it resurfaced from the water.
Clement just chuckled to himself. Sure, I wont be able to deal much direct damage, but... His thoughts began, before being interupted by another presence who finished his sentence off for him. Lumineon's combinations will certainly throw off this boy. The voice stated, causing a grin on Clement's face. Indeed. He replied. The multitude of attacks will leave him no opening, and will quickly wear down his health. And Lumineon wont even need to surface. Clement thought, rather confidently.
"What are you smirking at?!" His opponent called from across the field, irritated at Clement's confidence in the face of a disadvantage. "Urgh; Discharge, Magneton!" He ordered, which followed by a massive electrical pulse firing at the water.
"Safeguard, Lumineon!" Clement called, watching as the shield managed to repulse a bit of the electricity. "Now, give us a Gusty Silverwind!" Clement called, smirking again as Lumineon began to spin around under water, creating a small whirlpool in the water that soon rose into a typhoon-like attack, the Gust taking up water to increase it's power. Lumineon then began to release a strange, glittery dust from its fins, which rose up into the typhoon to further increase its power, as well as causing Lumineon to appear to gain strength. The boy looked at the mountainous attack with initial terror, but soon realised that despite its impressiveness, Magneton was resistant. Still, the attack took out a large chunk of Magneton's health, possibly equally that taken by Lumineon after the Discharge. Both trainers appeared to be equal.
Except, they most certainly weren't; Clement's smirked proved that. Attempting to give himself a challenge out of the battle, when he could've finished much quicker.
"You haven't noticed yet, have you?" Clement asked, stopping the battle for a moment as the boy looked towards him questioningly. "I'm going easy on you, giving you the advantage. Both of your pokémon could've been stopped by my Quilava quite easily." His hand moved to pet the head of his pokémon, who by now had fallen asleep. "But no, I chose a pokémon weak to your first, and then let you choose a pokémon advantageous to mine. I think it's time to stop that. I'm getting bored." Clement chuckled and returned Lumineon to her pokéball, picking his third and final one out.
"Breloom, Mach Punch." He called, not even throwing the pokéball, merely opening it in his hand. The mushroom like pokémon appeared in front of him and quickly obeyed the command, bouncing off a nearby chunk of floating ice with enough force to shatter it, before dealing a powerful punch to the Magneton that sent it rocketing into the water, causing a large explosion of water to rise from the arena, drenching anyone on that end of the field; most notably, Clement's opponent. As if that wasn't enough for the poor boy, his magneton lay floating on the surface of the water, completely unconcious, making that 2 losses to Clement's nil (Though Donphan was probably unusable again). Gritting his teeth, the boy picked his last pokémon, reminding himself to how Clement still had the water type Lumineon that could fight as he reached for his fire type. Instead, his hand grasped a ball with a bird shape engraved onto the front, obviously special compared to the other pokémon.
"Hah, now you've met your match!" The boy cried confidently, tossing his pokéball high into the air. As expected, a bird-pokémon emerged from the red-flash. Less expected was that the bird was clad entirely in a Steel Body. "Skarmory, crush him! Air slash!"
Clement chuckled to himself again. "Even now, I'm playing to a weakness. Breloom is incredibly weak to flying, and Skarmory has more freedom to move while it's in the air. Ahh well, no matter. Breloom, you should know what to do." And indeed he did, launching himself instantly from his temporary platform, causing Skarmory to plunge straight into the ice, shattering it and dropping into the water, leaving it utterly defenseless. "Swords dance, then go in for the kill." Clement said, which was followed by a quick pirouet in mid-air by Breloom, which seemed to harden the edges of his fists, before he came down with a powerful Mach Punch. Luckily for Clement's opponent, Skarmory's hard defenses left it hanging on, though it was struggling to erupt from the water, leaving it rather vulnerable.
"Grr, luckily I'm prepared for situations like this. Use Flash Cannon to keep him at bay." The boy growled, glaring angrily towards Clement. Clement himself took little interest, instead looking curiously towards his Breloom, who was indeed distracted by dodging the Flash Cannons, and was allowing Skarmory to prepare for flight once again.
"Dont let him get away Breloom! Seed Bomb against the next Flash cannon!" A large explosion followed the pair of attacks colliding, obscuring the field from the two players. "Now Breloom, finish it with another Mach Punch!"
The Skarmory erupted from the smoke, not long after Clement called out his command. Clement's opponent initially looked at it with pride and confidence, sure that his pokémon had escaped the clutches of Clement's Breloom. But, when the smoke cleared, Breloom was stood panting on an Ice block, exactly where Skarmory had been moments ago, raising his hand like an uppercut. When Clement glanced back at the Skarmory sailing through the air, it was clear that it was unconcious, sent flying by the sheer power of Breloom's punch.
"Good match; you did better than I expected from you." Clement said confidently, turning and calling his Breloom to his side, where it looked up at him eagerly, and received a berry as a reward for its hard work. The other two deserved one two, Clement thought.
After a run-up start, both Haxorus and Garchomp lunged at each other at full force, dragonic energies surrounding them as they charged. But once again, Garchomp landed the victorious blow, having soared underneath the Axe Jaw Pokemon, only to deliver a fatal kick to its underbelly. The momentum was enough to send the Mach Pokemon sprawling across the earth on its back, but it was alright at least. Enraged, the trainer tossed his last Pokeball straight at Terra, who thankfully managed to dodge it just at the last second via diving to the right. Out came a Slaking, which Garchomp immediately picked itself up and charged for.
"GIGA... IMPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACT!!" cried the trainer, as if yelling at the top of his lungs would make any difference. Slaking was quick to obey, and ran at Garchomp with a powerful shoulder charge, but both Pokemon had received significant damage from the attack. Garchomp was starting to get dizzy.
"Now do it again!" the meat-head yelled, failing to take into account Slaking's Truant ability.
"What a noob..." Terra shook her head after saying this, "Garchomp, just finish him off with Swords Dance, would you please?"
Although it was disoriented from the initial blow from Slaking, Garchomp managed to pull off the attack with ease, continuing to spin around and around like a tornado before eventually managing to locate Slaking and deliver the finishing blow. This only made the trainer furious.
"God damn it, this is bullshit!" he cursed as he stormed off into the distance, "STUPID UBER PRICK!!"
"Ya should've thought of that before you pushed someone INTO... MY... BREASTS!!" Terra yelled out at the distance, but it was useless; the meat-head was too far away to have possibly heard that, and as such it fell on deaf ears. Jamie, who'd been watching from a distance, approached and put his hand on Terra's shoulder.
"Well, at least you can take comfort in the fact that you kicked his ass," he said in a reassuring tone.
"Yeah... I guess you're right," replied Terra.
It was over too quickly, Blake was now bored as he strolled around the island. Honestly, he had hoped his match would've brought more challenge, but he was disappointed anyway.
Don't let past things get you down, Blake. As I can sense a battle going on right as we speak! Cobalion's voice rang through Blake's ears.
Sure enough, Blake came to the battle of Kaeden and his Simisear vs a woman with Electrivire. "Huh, seems like an interesting match so far!" he said, as he stood on the sidelines, just simply watching the battle. This kid seems like he's trained his Simisear very well. Actually, this is the first time I've seen a Simisear in person...all I've seen were Pansears...regardless, he's pretty good. Wouldn't you agree Cobalion? Blake thought, awaiting Cobalion's response, but to his surprises...there was none. It sort of floored Blake, since Cobalion would normally talk anyway...so why was this time different??
The two Pokemon collided, their strength seeming equal. After a moment of confrontation, it was apparent that neither side would budge. "Simisear, use Dig to escape!" In a movement nearly quicker than could be caught, Simisear dove into the ground just at Electivire's feet, causing Electivire to fly forward and trip with all the power and momentum behind his attack.
"Now come up with a Fire Punch!" Bursting from the ground, Simisear struck Electivire square in the chest with a powerful Fire Punch. Landing on the ground with a powerful thud, Electivire was out cold. "Nice job, Simisear! One down, two to go."
"Don't think that the rest of the match will be so easy. I've sized you up and calculated your moves. There isn't much hope left for you." Kaeden's opponent boasted, tossing out a Pokeball. "MAGMORTAR!" Kaeden examined the Pokemon. Like her Electivire it looked pretty tough, and probably too much of Kaeden to handle at this point. "Return, Simisear! Go, Ludicolo!" Kaeden sent out the large water and grass type Pokemon, a smile appearing on his face. He had contemplated sending out Keldeo, but he wanted to make sure that, that weapon was well in stock in case this woman had any tricks left up her sleeve.
"Ludicolo, use Rain Dance!" The Carefree Pokemon, danced around in a circle, chanting. Within moments the clouds above darkened and there was a deep rumbling as water began to fall from the sky. Ceasing his dancing, Ludicolo returned to the battle at hand.
"I can see there is some method to your battle strategy, but if you were planning to weaken my fire type with a little rain, you will be sourly disappointed. Magmortar, use Clear Smog!" The large bazooka-armed Pokemon pointed one of its weaponized arms at Ludicolo, but instead of releasing a powerful fireball, out spilled a waterfall of white gas. The gas moved incredibly fast, surrounding Ludicolo, who in turn cried out. "Now use, Flamethrower!"
"Please, that attack won't do much in the rain." Kaeden said, unsure of what his opponent was planning. The small jet of flames spewed out of Magmortar's arm, but instead of dwindling like Kaeden had thought it would, the fire seemed to travel up the smog trail left by Clear Smog, gaining power and heat. By the time the flames reached Ludicolo, they were blazing white, dealing massive damage to the Pokemon.
"I told you, I calculated your win rate, no matter what you do, you can't beat me." Kaeden ignored the woman, eager to get his Pokemon out of the stifling blaze. "Use Water Pulse to douse the flames!" Ludicolo smashed his hands into the ground, a powerful surge of water, quenching the flames that had engulfed him. "Now again, on Magmortar!" Ludicolo let loose another surge of water, aimed at the fire type Pokemon.
"Use Thunderbolt." A blast of lightning erupted from Magmortar's bazooka arm, meeting the Water Pulse and dissipating it. "You just don't know when to gi-" Kaeden's opponent suddenly stopped speaking when she saw what had transpired, using the Water Pulse as a distraction, Ludicolo had ran up to Magmortar, landing a solid punch to the Pokemon's face and then had followed through with a jab to the stomach. "How?" The woman asked, obvious that she hadn't calculated for Ludicolo's incredible speed.
"It's really pretty obvious." Kaeden said, laughing. "Ludicolo has Swift Swim." Kaeden saw the gears in the woman's brain turning as she tried to process this new information. Seeing the idea come together, Kaeden braced himself for this woman's new tactic. "Magmoratar, use Toxic!" Out of the Pokemon's arm erupted a foul smelling, purple liquid. Using his increased speed, Ludicolo easily dodged the attack. "Keep going!" The woman called. The poison continued to jet out of Magmortar's arm, covering the field in the venom, but still Ludicolo avoided the attack.
"You done?" Kaeden asked, confused as to what the woman was doing. "You wish. Let me see what you got!"
"You asked for it. Ludicolo show Magmortar how strong you arm, go in for sweeping kick and then pummel that pompous Pokemon!" Ludicolo dashed towards the opposing Pokemon, ready to end the battle. But, before Ludicolo could even get close to Magmortar, he fell to the ground, the Toxic causing him to slip.
"Should've thought it through." The woman berrated. "Use Flamethrower!" Once again, the fire move spilled out of Magmortar's barrelled arm, loosing power because of the rain. The flames dipped towards the ground, but as soon just one spark hit the ground it was all over for Ludicolo. The flames took to the flammable toxin, racing across the field and catching the fallen Ludicolo in the blaze once more. Ludicolo roared in pain.
"Oh my God!" Kaeden cried out. It was obvious that this battle was far beyond that of anything he had ever gone through before. This woman was pulling out all the stops, even going beyond what he would define as fair. "Ludicolo, return!" Kaeden called, bringing his blistering Pokemon into the safety of the Pokeball. Things were personal now. "Look lady, I understand wanting to win, but that was nearly sadistic."
"Look kid, you have got a lot to learn. Things aren't just video games and sugared sweets. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do." She said, shrugging. Kaeden shook with anger. It was time. "Go! Keldeo!" Grabbing the Pokeball from his side, Kaeden chucked the Pokeball at the Magmortar. Hitting the fire typed Pokemon in the head, the Pokemon inside was released.
"Let's teach this girl a lesson!" Keldeo cried, hitting the battlefield. The rain was dying away, as well as the flames, the two opponents now stood opposite of each other, ready for battle. "Aqua Jet!" Keldeo was off. Rocketing towards Magmortar faster than the opponent could even realize that she was now facing a Legendary Pokemon. Keldeo hit Magmortar, sending the Pokemon reeling. "Now use Hydro Pump!" Using the rebound off the large Pokemon, Keldeo flew backwards, pointing his hooves at the flailing Blast Pokemon. From his hooves erupted a jet of water, smashing into Magmortar.
Once the water washed away, Magmortar lay in the field, eyes spinning. "A Legendary Pokemon?" The woman asked in astonishment. Kaeden ignored her. He wasn't going to talk to this woman before she was down for the count. "Never expected that one." Contemplating the situation, the woman thought through a variety of strategies. Truthfully, Electivire would've been the best choice against Keldeo, but seeing as he was no longer in the picture, she would have to go with the next best thing. "Go, Tangrowth!" Not even bothering to throw the Pokeball, she merely opened it in her hand, a massing of twirling vines taking the field.
"Power Whip, go!" Tangrowth lashed out with his vines, reaching towards Keldeo. Not even needing direction from his trainer, Keldeo moved to counter attack. The large horn on his head, grew becoming a sword. "Sacred Sword!" Keldeo shouted, using his telepathic power to blast through the arena. Slicing through the vines, Keldeo slashed at the Tangrowth, knocking it out in one hit. It was over.
The woman scurried off, not eager to deal with enraged child and his Legendary Pokemon. Kaeden let out a sigh of relief. It was then that he noticed a bystander. "Hi, my name is Kaeden. Sorry to be rude, but I really need to get my Ludicolo to the Pokemon Center. You are welcome to tag along."
The match was going well...until the woman acted like a total sadistic person. Blake was half tempted to say something, but before he could, he heard Cobalion's voice shoot through the silence.
HE'S HERE!!!!
"W-Wha? Whose here?" Blake asked quietly, looking around...but his answer was met with the sight he saw from Kaeden: his Pokemon was Keldeo, one of the Swords of Justice. The moment Kaeden brought his Legendary out, the battle was over. S-Such awesome power! So this is the strength of another Sword of Justice.
Honestly, he's still the youngest in the group, but don't count him out yet...he's quite the spirited Pokemon. Cobalion said with a chuckle.
The conversation would've kept going, if Kaeden didn't speak to him. Being polite (and trying to keep his composure), he smiled and nodded. "Nice to meet you Kaeden. I'm Blake Aston..." he said, as he approached the kid and the Legendary Pokemon. He placed his bag down and knelt by it, rummaging through it. He noticed both Kaeden and Keldeo back away some as he did so, but he let out a small chuckle. "Relax you two, I'm grabbing some Max Potion. Might as well treat Keldeo right here...that way no one else can figure out you have a Legendary." Blake finally pulled out the Max Potion and smiled at Keldeo and Kaeden. "May I?"
Found: Keldeo.
Owner: Kaeden.
The third Unown watched in triumph as Keldeo - YES, Keldeo, and definitely not just a transformed Ditto by the way it performed a Sacred Sword. It memorized and recorded the entire battle between the Keldeo and Tangrowth. It had achieved its purpose, its goal, its mission, and nothing could stop it from reporting back. Absolute success, and an hour hadn't even passed yet since it had last been sent out. N.N would be beyond pleased. Keldeo, the legendary Colt Pokemon. The Unown didn't know much more about it, but its master should be able to figure it out on his own.
Still, before it left, it chose to hide away a little longer....there was something about Blake that seemed suspicious.
---
The Unown now in Ice's possession squirmed slightly. While it certainly didn't appear to have any scratches of any kind, by the way it was acting, maybe it was sick? / At the moment, it didn't seem to be detecting any secondary presences - perhaps its master had been wrong? This girl seemed too normal to possess a Legendary Pokemon. Slowly, it began to chitter strange sounds to itself, which translated into 'Does this [human] have the target or not? I do not think she does. She is too ordinary. But Master told me she possesses the [Lunar Light]...' It continued its thoughts while being carried.
--
"HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS?!?!" His opponent screamed out.
Ignoring him, the Pikachu dived within the Typhlosion's ultimate fire attack and delivered another shocking Thunder that harshly connected and sent it flying into the air. This was the third Pokemon, and once it hit the ground, it had already fainted. N.N didn't smile at his victory, it was only to be expected. Such lowly creatures could not hope to match Urlugal, who had been trained specifically to fight Legendaries.
His opponent clenched his fists as he had Typhlosion return to his Pokeball. "Ugh...alright, you've forced my hand! Come out, my final and most powerful Pokemon! GO, DRAGONITE---"
While the no-doubt powerful, orange dragon was still materializing, N.N pointed at the energy. "Urlugal, Thunder." Right before the energy had taken form, a gigantic, cannon-like lightning strike struck it, and the energy suddenly began to malfunction and, disintegrate? The host Pokeball was reacting violently, shaking, and threatening to explode right in the guy's hand, a line of energy still connecting with the immaterial shape vaguely resembling a Dragonite. Finally, it forcibly had the dragon retreat back inside and locked shut, refusing to open. It would have to be fixed.
"Huh- THAT'S AGAINST THE RULES!!!"
"I am the rules." N.N declared calmly, and turned away. "That electronic device you use is flawed and highly inefficient. When it comes to balls, I'm disappointed with this age."
"What the hell are you talking about?!"
"Do not talk to me, mongrel." By then, the Pikachu had jumped back onto his shoulder. It was slightly tired from having used the move Thunder too much, but it should be able to recover its energy by the next day. Having taken down multiple fully-evolved Pokemon, it was strange how it didn't appear to be more tired. What sort of training had he put it through, to have it be so powerful...? Whatever the answer was, the king wasn't about to answer as he walked off into the distance.
"It's always the same..." Terra muttered to herself, having left Jamie's side since he needed to fight someone else, "Team Purity. Team Purity. Team Purity. And then I fight someone who isn't a Team Purity, he turns out to be an arrogant douchebag that thinks he can beat everyone!"
At this time, Terrakion once again popped out of its Pokeball, this time audibly groaning. He could sense the frustration in Terra, but that didn't stop him from deciding that he needed a little pep talk with the girl, even though she'd no doubt heard all what he was going to say before.
"I'll admit that last trainer was but a fool," he stated, "But you can't just keep underestimating other trainers. You're only setting yourself up for failure that way."
'Do you have any idea how long this has been going on for?!' Terra wanted to yell.
"My point still stands!" Terrakion responded, seeming to have quelled the frustration, "Things will change soon enough. You just need to give some time."
Serena Finch
"Alright, thanks!" Serena said to the girl behind the registration desk. She had been unsure as to whether her battle had constituted as a win or not, and thus had traveled to the registration desk to see whether or not something needed to be done about the pompous bit-...woman that had run off. After reviewing a few cameras that had been monitoring the battle as well as talking to the referee that had been there, it was decided that Serena has won the battle.
Now having nothing to do, Serena simply strolled around the city of Archanum. She had already checked into her hotel, as well as retrieved her motorcycle. You could go watch some battles. Entei stated. Serena was surprised to hear his voice, he had become quite talkative since she had arrived on the island. What's with you? Usually I have to offer you up a ton of poffins before you talk to me. Serena stated, keeping her voice light so as to not make Entei mad at her. This island holds something powerful. Serena nodded. She had felt it to. There was definitely something different about this place. Taking Entei's advice she went off in search of battle.
She stumbled upon a battle that was pretty much over as a trainer finished off his opponent with a Breloom. Serena watched the battle with interest. It was really quite interesting. The trainer with a Breloom was obviously the superior, having taken apart the opponent with barely blinking, but the other guy definitely wasn't a bad trainer, just far out of his league.
Walking up to the victor Serena greeted him. "Nice win! The name's Serena. What about you?"
Rook Tacitus
Rook munched happily on the taco in his hand. He had bought it from a less than reliable food stand on the street, but the taco was tasty and didn't have any visible problems(eg. roaches or rat poop) with it. Finishing off the spicy snack, Rook wiped his hands on his pants. He had already dropped by the Pokemon Center, healing his Pokemon completely. He had considered finding a battle to watch, but in all honesty he was dead tired. Walking back towards his hotel, Rook began to ponder the vision he had saw early.
It got hard to remember it, but the gravity of the scene was all too apparent. He wished he could just ask Dialga what was going on, but he was less than forthcoming about it. Still pondering the idea, he caught a flash of movement off to his side. Now being in a city, this normally wouldn't have piqued Rook's interest, the movement was not merely a person walking by, or even a small Pokemon floating around. Whatever had been there had tugged on his mind, much the same way that Dialga did when he spoke to him. Foregoing the idea of a nap, Rook began to walk towards where he saw the movement. The feeling continued to tug on his mind and suddenly an image erupted in front of him. The image of the lake side. Under a large statue. He eagerly looked to see what the statue was, but the image faded.
Shaking his head, Rook looked around. That image hadn't been from Dialga. Something was calling out to him.
Ice made a surprised sound as the Unknown squirmed around, causing her cheeks to turn bright red as it rubbed up against her breasts. Turning the Pokemon away from her chest Ice picked up her pace to the reception office.
“It okay, just hold a little longer honey, we’ll be there soon,” she whispered down to the Pokemon, a few moments before she opened the reception office’s door walking straight up to the attendant. “Hello, umm may I ask, well, has anyone reported a missing Unknown?” She offered up the small Pokemon, while the attendant went to her computer typing furiously.
“I’m sorry ma’am no. You can keep it though, and we’ll refer anybody to you,” the attendant said with a sympathetic look on her face, “may I have your name, and room number.”
“Uhh… Ice, and uhh 37C,” Ice said nervously, she had only expected to drop off the Unknown, and giving out even the slightest personal information was uncomfortable to her.
“Last name,” the attendant shot her a look cocking an eyebrow.
“None,” Ice replied sheepishly, as it was always an awkward moment when people figured out she had no last name.
“Okay, well we’ve registered that in the database, and we’ll let you know if anyone comes by for it,” the attendant said cheerfully, as Ice turned to walk away. As she exited the office she felt Unknown, and noticed it was hot. Failing to take into account Unknown had been shoved against her breasts, and against a sweater Ice worried that Pokemon may have had a fever, and rushed back to her hotel room knowing she had some herbs and berries for that.
~10 minutes later~
As she returned to her hotel room Ice placed Unknown on the spare bed in her room. The opulence of the hotel rooms made her uncomfortable, as she had never lived in something like this, but it wasn’t like she was complaining either.
She rushed to one of her suitcases pulling out her pestle and mortar crushing a few roots and herbs in it, then released Cresselia out of her Pokeball knowing this was the only place where the Legendary could relax safely.
“Well that was quick I expected your battle to be longer,” Cresselia spoke out loud this time not needing to converse with the girl psychically, though with her charge's psychic ability it was not a problem, “well I guess it doesn’t really matter. What are you doing?”
“Well he was kind of pathetic, and had no real sense of strategy,” Ice said, but then winced at her harsh words, “anyway this is for the Unknown I found it earlier, and I think its sick.” After answering Cresslia Ice returned to the pestle and mortar, while Cresselia was content to stretch about the room.
Aya Minatoshi
Mightyena's speed was certainly an advantage in this battle, allowing it to dodge almost all of the opponent's attacks. And this particula opponent seemed to have some sort of fetish for recoil damage, accumulating much Damage through continuous Double Edges, which Mightyena dodged easily. So easily, in fact, that it turned out Aya had little need for a strategy, for her opponent was completely unaware as to how much damage the Onix was talking from its own moves. At the end, all that was needed to defeat the rock snake was another simple Ice fang, which left the pokémon unconcious.
Jerry's third pokémon, a large Tropius, was easy pickings, utterly destroyed by a barrage of Thunder, Ice and Fire Fangs. The match ended quite quickly, and Aya's opponent turned away with little fuss. He seemed to be unfazed by the loss; in fact, he hadn't changedhis expression too much during the entire battle.
Aya was about to get down off of the podium, returning Mightyena to his pokéball, when her phone suddenly buzzed in her pocket. She entered a quick code to access her texts.
Nice job, Ms Minatoshi. I've been watching. Good luck with the rest.
-Draco
She sighed and deleted the message, before locking the phone once again and walking towards Richard, who stood there with an eager grin on his face. "Congratulations. Your first victory. I guess I should get mine over with quickly so we can get to work." He said, enthusiastically, as he turned and started walking in the direction of his own arena. While he walked, he lifted his phone up to text, selecting Moira as the receipent.
Hey sexy, what's up? Got any news on Archanum yet? ;)
-Richard
He chuckled at the text and placed his phone back inside his jacket, brushing the gun as he removed his hand. Oh, how the temptation to murder was strong. It was like an addiction, an inbuilt need to kill.
Battling was the next best thing, he convinced himself as he approached his own arena. The man on the other end seemed to just as confident as Richard himself, though he was about 15 years younger. Richard grinned slightly, leaping lithely onto the podium at his end of the arena, facing his opponent.
"Good luck!" His opponent cried, though Richard largely ignored him, instead tossing his pokéball towards the arena, from which burst forth his Gigalith, shaking the asphalt of their bland arena.
His opponent chuckled at him, and started talking about how awesome his pokémon were, but Richard paid no attention, and the moment Gallade was released, Gigalith stomped its foot, causing a massive earthquake that cracked all the Asphalt of the pitch and nearly threw Aya off balance, knocking Gallade out cold in one hit.
"Again." Richard ordered, chuckling as Gigalith prepared itself for another opponent by covering itself in a layer of Iron, in the form of Iron Defense.
The opponent stood stock still for a few moments, gather his composure as he returned the Gallade. Still rathershocked, he threw his next pokéball, revealing a floating Eelektross. A quick Stone-edge had that out within minutes, as well as the Emboar that followed suit. Chuckling, Richard walked back to an indifferent Aya, switching his expression to one of distress at her blank expression. Aya shrugged, having seen that occur too many times to be influenced by it.
The opponent, meanwhile, hadn't moved; too shocked to readily gain a grasp on his surroundings.
Clement Calvinson
Clement was quite surprised as he was greeted by a spectator, a girl named Serena who seemed surprisingly interested in him. He grinned in return, accepting the handshake politely. "Thank you, though it was hardly much of a challenge." He stated. "Nice to meet you. The name's Clement. I assume you must be quite a powerful trainer, to have finished your battle already."
Steve:
As Steve is keeping his eye on the proceedings via his secret camera on the scene, having no such luck in locating trainers with legendaries, he thought to himself. "Maybe I need to be closer to the action." He turned to his desk where his smoke bombs were pretty much complete, and as the machine beeped signalling the completion, a knocking on the door had overshadowed it and thus he walked over to the door to find Moira standing there with a glare in her eye.
"Why hello Moira. What can I do for you?" He asked in a professional yet serious manner.
... ...
Alex:
Alex held his datacard in hand when it flashed so that he could efficiently see who his opponent was and where he would be battling.
James Jackson
18 Years old
Forest Battlefield
Alex checked his surroundings to see if he can find some trees that would indicate where his stadium was, he then hopped on to his Houndoom to get there in double time. As he arrived at his respective battlefield, his opponent came swinging in on the vines and greeted his opponent.
"Nice Houndoom you have there. Will I have the pleasure of battling it?" James asked as he saw Alex arrive on Houndoom
"Of course not. I'm not that stupid." Alex answered in defence.
Both combatants walked to different sides of the battlefield located in the clearing and sent out their first pokemon. "Let's go Scizor!" "Mismagius, you're up first!"
~#~#~#~
"Now use Metal Claw!" Scizor leapt across from tree to tree to surprise the enemy Crobat and strike it with enough force to knock it out. "He's making good use of this battlefield." James thought as he was down to his last pokemon. Despite having lost his Blaziken against Crobat, Alex was acting surprisingly calmer than he would normally act. Then James sent out his final pokemon. "Go Lopunny!"
~#~#~#~
Using the trees as an advantage, Lopunny had successfully defeated Scizor, which left Alex with his final pokemon. "Ok, let's brighten up our chances Shiftry!" Shiftry emerged from its pokeball, instantly leaping across the trees which had unnerved James initially. "Use Sunny Day!" Suddenly, light started filtering in on the battlefiueld, however James was grinning his face off as the sun had powered up Lopunny's Fire Punch.
"Let's go Lopunny, Fire Punch!" Lopunny waited until Shiftry came into view and leapt across  usimng its powerful legs towards a tree that Shiftry would be headed with a flaming punch, but ultimately Lopunny failed as it had missed Shiftry and crashed its head into a tree. Alex proceeded to smirk at James. "Unfortunately for you James, thanks to my Shiftry's special ability Chlorophyll, his speed is increased. Now Shiftry, finish it with X-Scissor!" Upon hearing his command which semingly echoed through the trees, Shiftry eyed his target which was slowly getting up and sprung from the trunk using his stilted feet with his arms crossed in an X fashion and struck Lopunny's back, eliminating it and James from the tournament. After the battle, the two bid each other a fond farewell and Alex proceeded to head back on top of his Houndoom.
