Either player can pay 800 Life Points to negate the Special Summon of a monster(s), and/or an effect that Special Summons a monster(s), and destroy those cards.

I do really like the card in which case it locks down Elemental Dragons. I know there are other cards like Ophion that can already do this, but this gives you a better ease with any deck. After thinking about it, I realized it should be brought back but at 1.

Tell me what you think.

1. Card name in the title.

2. Please realise that you can spam the field full of everything ever and then just set Oppression and say GGNORE. Please also realise this is generic and extremely easy to play. Simply put, Oppression is a stupid card. No. Banned for good reason. If you want an Elemental Dragon out, you can play Ophion, Fossil Dyna or something like Gozen Match.

Well, it's a good card for stopping a TON of decks that spam Special Summon monsters (i.e. every deck), the problem is that those same decks can utilize them to shut down other decks, making their victory absolute and impossible to come back from. In short, stay banned pls

EDIT: I should also mention that if it had this clause, it would be fine:

"You cannot control any Special Summoned monsters to activate or resolve this effect."

It shouldn't be brought back because of SPAM SPAM SPAM flip oppression, gg.

You could argue that those spam decks should be hit a la superdoopertrooper, but that doesn't change the fact that this card is the epitome of a slippery slope and overall awful design.

Use Dragossack

2 Tokens

Use Oppression

Next turn, if your Tokens survive, Summon a LaDD

GGNORE.

E-Dragons can abuse this too.

That's a good point actually, although I think that LADD would negate oppression anyways (correct me if I'm wrong).

But yeah, EDragons are a really spammy deck that would probably benefit from using this at least somewhat.

just spam their shit and then flip this for game :I

Which is the exact reason why this ended up on the list.
The card was fine, at first, since it was only played in anti-meta decks.
Then people decided to maindeck this in everything; Do their field-spam move and flip this as the last move -> Gg
Thus, this card ended up@0

If an effect that made you take 5000 damage (IDK. Something decently big) if you have more than (?) 2 SS'd monsters when you used this, would it help? I'm sorry if I'm dumb right now. I haven't played in a while so I'm not sure of current meta and such.

"When a Spell or Trap Card is activated, or the effect of an Effect Monster is activated, that activation is negated."

So it isn't negated by LaDD

I really don't need to say anything now, because you pretty much said it all. This thing was abused to Jigoku and back, it would be again.

I remember the first time I ever saw this.  I was playing the 2009 video game and I was against that weird announcer dude who used an immortal bushin deck, and he flipped this, and I was like "What the fuck is this?!  This shit is broken!".

Sorry for the late reply. I left this on while I was doing something else and forgot all about this.

Title will be changed after this reply.

So I'm a little confused, how does this card Spam? I only see it as "Neither player can Special Summon monsters." I know that destroying the SSed E Dragon wouldn't be so great when they can still Special Summon another from your hand by banishing the destroyed E Dragon; but can't you just negate that summon again?

It also negates your opponent from summoning Xyz or Synchs so I can knid of see how it was banned.

Someone please explain. Sorry for being dumb.

This card doesn't spam by its own, of course.

But what you do is you play a deck that can spam the field within the lapse of a single turn, like, say, Wind-Ups or Blackwings.  You do your spammy loop thing and then, once you've used up your resources and don't need to SS anymore, you flip this.

Now your opponent can't make a proper comeback.

Edit: Fucking ninjas man.

The card itself doesn't spam, you just get your spam done before you flip the card.
