As usual, people bitching about a perfectly fine name change that means the same damn thing while avoiding "But it a Blue-I!1!!!1!!1!!1!'nnn!"

Personally, Azure sounds better because it isn't so damn plain while still keeping the homage.

Card isn't even that good anyways and is rarely worth it.

It's obligatory to bitch about the name change.

OT: It's a... meh card, not anything that's outstanding to be honest.

You could actually be cool and play this in Hieratics, as both Flamvell Guard and any Level 8 Dragon-Type Normal monsters are both viable Targets to Summon off them. Plus, Atum could just Summon either Target if you needed something else.
Then, considering the fact This card proceeds to protect your Dragons and what-not until your next turn, your almost guaranteed to get it's effect off, and at the same time, make another play through Atum(Assuming you control Atum, of course).

I really don't care about this name change, if anything I actually prefer it. It means exactly the same thing, but means there won't be people on DN who think this is a Blue-Eyes card...

OT: It kinda doesn't look nearly as good in colour as it did in Black and White oddly. It might just be because it's a bit bland.

It really needed to have the 3k attack though... and it didn't. It's not really that good, and I think I'd rather just keep the 3k beater. It might be different in a Heiratic deck that runs it though.

Jeff needs to put that image in a spoiler, or it may cause seizures.

That's how I got my last avatar removed. Same principal as Jeff's signature, and boom, removed within a few days.

OT: Name change is fine, card is decent I guess, but not worth the dedication.

I'm on the side that thinks Azure actually sounds cooler.

Also, even if the card is not gonna be too useful for Blue-Eyes, I think I'll still have fun with it.

I'm thinking about Labyrinth Wall + Debris + Catapult Zone in a deck. It will be an amusing experiment.

Azure-Eyes actually sounds pretty good, I'm not gonna whine. As for the card itself, protection from targetting is actually good in the Dragon Ruler era. Do I wish it had 3k ATK? Yes. Do I think the card is average? Yes. Does that make it bad? No.

In a format where you have to be above average to be worth it, it does make it bad.

Because so far that's the main complaint I'm hearing.[/quote] A better effect. What would you do with the ability to summon Normal monsters? All it does is protect your dragons for one turn.

All it's good for right now is OTKing and/or living another turn to get your BEWD back, which will either stay a beater or go into a far more potent Rank 8 Xyz. Given the ease in bringing BEWD out with maiden, it isn't shocking.

Then there's the fact that you don't wanna use maiden on this, generally, as the best ways to use her involve Cyber Valley and Wonder Wand.

You'll hardly ever be in a situation where you want this over original BEWD or at all. It's not plain bad, but it's far from optimal.
