Cards I think should be banned

Recommended Posts

Ok, we're finally back on topic.

So, what crazy combo can these cards pull off?

They just produce silly high amount of ATK, but nothing else. Doesn't remove things, doesn't protect against stuff, doesn't search or recur. Just a pair of silly beatsticks.

Also, Calculator + Metal Reflect Slime is more efficient for making big things. That's about it.

Possible combos (Beast King Barbaros):

  • This card can be Tribute Summoned with one Tribute (or two for its second effect) using "The Trojan Horse".
  • Normal Summon "Goblindbergh", then Special Summon, in Defense Position, a Level 4 monster by its effect; Special Summon "Backup Warrior" and finally activate "Double Summon" to Tribute Summon this card.
  • While "Skill Drain" is on the field, when this card is Normal Summoned without Tribute, it will keep its 3000 ATK.
    • This is a great monster in a Skill Drain Deck since it's never a Dead Draw. Even without "Skill Drain", this card is effective, since Summoning him without Tribute gets him with decent ATK, and its effect to wipe out all opposing cards is extremely handy.
    • Wait until your opponent attacks this card then activate "Forbidden Chalice" to give it 3400 ATK and reset its effect.
    • Equipping this card with "Axe of Fools" turns him into a no-tribute beater with 4000 ATK.
  • This card is an excellent counter to "Destiny HERO - Plasma", provided you remove its Equip Card first.
  • Use this card with "Trade-In" as a Draw Engine and then Special Summon it later with "Call of the Haunted."
  • If you have "Ultimate Offering" face-up on the field along with "Beast King Barbaros" and any of the "Gadgets" in your hand, you can perform an OTK: summon a Gadget, search another one and summon it, and do so until all 5 slots are filled, then tribute 3 of them for "Beast King Barbaros", clearing the field, and summon 2 more Gadgets, which easily results in an OTK

(3000+1400+1300+1200+1200=8100).

  • This card can be useful in a Ritual deck as it has the same ATK as many level 4 normal monsters, but has twice the Level.
  • This monster should be an ideal Tribute for "Advance Draw".
  • Because of the high level of this monster and the easy summoning condition (Normal summoning it without a tribute for 1900 ATK), it can easily destroy "Satellite Cannon".
  • Easily combo this monster with "Pole Position". Since he's most likely to be the strongest monster when Summoned without Tribute, it'll turn him into a 1900 ATK, anti-Spell beatstick
  • This card can be easily Summoned with 3 Tributes by Special Summoning "Hero Kid", allowing you to use his effect to Special Summon two more. You can then Tribute the 3 "Hero Kids" to summon "Beast King Barbaros".
    • "Treeborn Frog", "Samsara Lotus", "Destiny Hero - Malicious", "Nimble Momonga", "Giant Germ", "Hydrogeddon" and "Kurivolt" are also good cards to get the three tributes for this card.
    • Use "Gilasaurus" to have 1 monster on your field; your opponent also will Special Summon another one, but if you use "Barbaros" tributing 3 monsters, the Special Summoned monster of your opponent will be destroyed.
    • You can use "Foolish Burial" with "Dandylion" (just remember you can't tribute the tokens the turn you activate "Dandylion's" effect) or "Hero Kid" and revive them with "Limit Reverse" for more special summons or if you are using "Hero Kid", "Graceful Revival". You can even use "Pot of Avarice" beforehand to recycle two of your "Hero Kids" for special summoning if all 3 are in your graveyard or you can choose all 3 "Hero Kid" if you plan on special summoning them from your deck.
    • "Inferno Reckless Summon" also works wonders here. Whatever monster your opponent summons will be irrelevant, as they will be destroyed when "Beast King Barbaros" enters the field.
  • Use "T.G. Striker" and "T.G. Warwolf" to gather 3 tributes for this card easily.
  • Use a card like "Limit Reverse" to Special Summon a Level 2 or higher Tuner monster from your Graveyard, then Special Summon "Doppelwarrior" with its effect. Synchro Summon a Level 4 or higher Synchro Monster and get 2 Doppel Tokens, then tribute both and the Synchro Monster to Summon Barbaros.
  • If you intend to destroy all your opponent's cards with Barbaros' effect, make sure you are protected againstStarlight Road, as losing three tribute monsters and Barbaros while allowing your opponent to summonStardust Dragon will very probably leave you in a hopeless situation.
  • This card works well in an Ojama deck. Use "Human-Wave Tactics" to summon at least 3 Ojamas from your deck then tribute them and summon this card destroying all cards your opponent controls. Use "Backup Soldier" to regain the Ojamas that were tributed.
  • This card can be a good side deck option for Crystal Beasts. If your opponent has prevented you from wiping their field with "Crystal Abundance", you can use "Crystal Beacon" when you have two monsters in your Spell and Trap card zone to Special Summon "Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle", which then Special Summons the two others that were being treated as Continuous Spell Cards, giving you the three tributes needed to summon for Barbaros' field clearing effect. He can also serve as a free summon beatstick at 1900 points; an attack strength more powerful than any of the Crystal Beasts.
  • Play this card after "Future Vision" is active on the field, this way when it comes back to your side, it will have all of It's original ATK.
  • This card can be very useful to Xyz Summon a rank 8 Xyz Monster, as it doesn't need tributes to be summoned.
  • This card plays well with "Magical Hats" and 2 "Gear Town" spells, if your opponent does not select your "Beast King Barbaros" when attacking, it will stay on the field but will get its full 3000 ATK when you flip it face up, along with 2 "Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon".
  • This card can easily be summoned with the help of "The Agent of Creation - Venus". Pay 1500 life points to summon 3 "Mystical Shine Ball", which can be Tributed for this card.
  • Another possible OTK can be performed using this card along with "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen", "The Agent of Creation - Venus", and "Tri-Wight". First "Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen" then special summon "The Agent of Creation - Venus". Pay 1500 Life Points to special summon 3 "Mystical Shine Ball" and tribute them to summon this card. Next play Tri-Wight to Special Summon the 3 "Mystical Shine Ball" back from the graveyard and use 2 of them to Xyz Summon "Daigusto Phoenix" activating its effect on itself. Finally have all of your monsters attack for a total of 8100 points of damage (3000+1600+1500x2+500=8100).
  • Banish and return this card using "Dimensionhole" to reset its original ATK.

Can you actually get above level 12 with modifiers?
I really didn't know that. Doesn't sound right.

Use 3 "Tannhauser Gate"s on 2 copies of Yubel to make 2 level 80 monsters, then use "Galaxy Queen's Light" with three "The Calculator" also on the field to have 5 Lv. 80 monsters (resulting in 3 "The Calculators" at 120,000 Atk each).

What the hell?

Except that that play requires 9 cards, at least 7 of which are unsearchable.

Actually, only Gate is unsearchable.

Calculator can be searched by Gear Gigant.

Light can be searched by Galaxy Wizard, since it is a Galaxy card.

Yubel can be searched by Mystic Tomato.

The combo is still ridiculously bad, though.

Good lord, Wikia is for-

While I applaud them for trying to come up with every way possible to make use of a card(s), they tend to miss the point of the main objective as a whole.
Plus, not every tip they offer is terrible. Sometimes it's just goofy stuff; Wingbeat of Giant Dragon with Vice Dragon; Funny as hell to pull off, but Vice is like the only monster you would really use it with.

Maybe we could use better QC on the tips parts. There checks there aren't as strict, not to mention it would mean a lot of ground to patrol, so there's a good chance that some of the silly things (that aren't "crazy things you can attempt if you're willing to do so") are largely pointless.

Those combos doesn't quite compare to the amazing combo of level 1x106 MPBs combined with The Calculator.

Well, horribly situational combos from the lolWikia aside, Barbaros and the Calculator will never have any reason to be hit in the current game, They'll only be considered for the banlist when Konami hit the reset button and both cards somehow survived, and that's still quite dependant on a lot of factors.
