~British Soul~
Machine/Effect If this card is added from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand, except by drawing: You can add 1 EARTH Machine-Type monster with 500 ATK or DEF from your Deck to your hand, except "Ancient Gear Box". You can only use the effect of "Ancient Gear Box" once per turn. 500/2000 Yeah, this thing has a grand total of 12 targets, and a 1/3 of them are Geargias, hell the only cards from its archetype that it can search are AG Cannon and AG Knight. -Noel-
Just wonder why Konami didn't named this "Geargiabox" XD

goddamnit names are a pain
Dangit. I was hoping an archetype I liked support. Wait, since when would Konami do that? Still, the fact that this happens if you search it is nice. How do you search it though?

Aerion Brightflame
Auger -> Box -> Auger..? Why did Konami make that interaction possible wtf Because Konami wants to try and break Geargia. Again. OT: It really should've been named Geargia something rather than Ancient Gear. Given it doesn't support the archetype.
heraldry_lord
OT: It really should've been named Geargia something rather than Ancient Gear. Given it doesn't support the archetype. It technically turns this into a +1:

Darj
After reading the thread title, I was expecting a powerful card on the same level of Diamond Core or Scrap Factory that could turn Ancient Gears into a threat, but clearly this is not the case. As it was already pointed out, this card gives more support to Geargias than Ancient Gears, but do Geargias want or need it? I think they have better things to search than this. But I guess you could build a deck with Machinas, Geargiauger and this, though.

Toffee.
Out of curiosity, what would have been so bad about making this able to search for Ancient Gears, instead of Machines with 500 ATK?Also the DEF on the pic looks like 1900, rather then what the OP says it has. newhat
Out of curiosity, what would have been so bad about making this able to search for Ancient Gears, instead of Machines with 500 ATK? Also the DEF on the pic looks like 1900, rather then what the OP says it has. I assume they started out hoping they'd find a way to tie Ancient Gears together with a single card. Then they realized several Ancient Gears are Normal-Summon-only, the low-Level ones don't do anything, and the archetype's gimmick has become irrelevant, and decided not to bother. I see 2000 DEF and a mansard roof through the trees.
Sora1499
This card shouldn't exist. It doesn't make a deck more consistent, it just feeds off of a deck's pre-existing consistency and turns it into an arbitrary + machine. Awful design IMO. Dog King
It can search some Geargias and Karakuris including Geargiarsenal, Geargiano, Geargiano MK-11, Geargiauger and Nisphachi, Inashichi now only if those decks needed searchers which are well bad if you draw them, unless you machine dup it or something
Maeriberii Haan
I like how this card is basically a way for Konmai to give AG players a middle finger. Just..whoa. Konmai, you outdid yourself with this card. And it's not even a Geargia so Armor could search it.

Organized Chaos
Diamon Core actually did something? I thought it turned Koa'kis from sh!t into better but still unplayable? Diamond Core is pretty great, considering it is a RoTA that can grab a recruiter/spam enabler/effect negator and also provides effect destruction immunity if it's graveyard effect is used properly/keep them alive for another turn if Core isn't in your hand. So as such, the Deck is much consistent and playable. Perhaps not meta but definitely playable. OT: I've never liked the sheer search potential of Geargia. While I do agree with newhat that it's respective archetype is pretty much unplayable and that making it a Geargia would have made it worse, it just feels like Konami is just teasing people hoping for balanced support to a nostalgic archetype. This card is also stupidly designed. While Geargias don't exactly need the search power, as Arm said, the Auger combo gives essentially 2 more Monster Reborns of Machina Fortress/1 more fuel and the search of Gearframe for some weird reason. I'm not saying Machina Fortress is a huge threat in the meta, I'm simply remarking how stupid it is in more casual duels.

Slinky
Diamond can be recycled with Crusader. Diamond also isn't limited to once-per-turn. Let that sink in. Given how much crap Koaki meirus are, i don't think it really matters. no amount of buffs is going to help them. They are the literally worset designed archetype. it was interesting at first, but then they added too much so the revealing is too diverse without focusing on a single type. That said, the Koa'ki Meirus are some of the greatest tech cards the game has to offer in terms of Anti-Meta (Rock Stun yo), but thats about it. But a deck built around an archetype doesn't run all the members. And it almost never will. You just take the good Koa'ki that have synergy with one another (Crusader Urknight and the Rock Stun Ones) and you run them. It's actually a good deck now. Urknight and Crusader are really good now that Diamond Core isa thing (Especially Crusader) and the Rock Stun cards have always been really good. A recyclable ROTA that can be used multiple times in a turn is such a big assets that it renders them playable, even if they aren't going to be competitively major. It's turned them from shit into probably mediocre rather than unplayable.
