Creature Swap

Recommended Posts

Things to do before stopping playing Yu Gi Oh

-Find a Frog Monarch player

-Summon a very powerful monster

-This card

-Steal a frog

-Ram your monster with the frog

-???

-Profit!!!

Jokes apart, this card seems pretty neat in monarch decks (even if enemy controller works better), or simply for those situations where you want to snatch the general beater of your opponent.

The card looks like a -1 as a stand-alone option, but the decks that can use it really can. Effects like a revived Treeborn Frog's make up for this card, and the control you achieve is very important when taking away your opponent's boss. The most I've seen for responses is wasting a Call of the Haunted on a weak monster to keep themselves afloat. It was especially beautiful in the Synchro era when only Levels were around and you could almost always use your new monster to make something else.

Why would you hate it? if they lance it, they don't get your monster either. lol

If you're using Creature Swap, you want then to have your monster in exchange.

Only an idiot would attempt to swap something they'd mind swapping, so Lance is a major buzzkill

Card is actually hilarious in a lot of Decks, and yes, one major factor is the inability to see it coming most of the time.

It's also funny in things like Rank 1 Ghostricks by using Kinka to revive something, do whatever with the revived monster (Piper, Xyz, whatever), swap Kinka and return Kinka during End Phase. Really, any of the Ghostricks like Frost, Lantern, Specter, etc don't mind being swapped too much since they have really low stats and already fulfilled their purpose.

TGs have their TG1-EM1 card which is better because you get to pick what gets swapped and the Trap aspect makes it nice for dodging things.

The problem with this card is the kind of decks that want this effect can generally do something better.

-Psychics have Jumper
-TGs have EM1
-Frogs have Enemy Controller

Most decks simply can't make use of this at all.

econ doesnt work with stuff like giant rat, tomato, pyramid turtle etc

so this can be better in some decks, tho most of the decks are too slow right now
