subspatial battle [anime] balanced or not? (answered)

The wika's wording of it is kinda funny and possibly inaccurate, here is what I think it does:

Continous Spell

You can activate the following effect, after you have resolved it 3 times, send this card to the graveyard.

* Each player reveals 1 Monster Card from their Deck simultaneously, the player who reveals a Monster Card with higher ATK adds that card to their hand, while the player who reveals a Monster Card with lower ATK takes 500 damage and sends it to the Graveyard. If both cards have the same ATK, both are sent to the graveyard.

The way I see it, its a double edged sword just as Yugi and Judai proved it to be. This is because either you can send cards to the graveyard if they have low ATK, or add big stuff to your hand. However your opponent can also try to do that. Maybe 3 times is a bit much, what do you think?

Yes I know this card won't be likley to be released at this rate, but I still want to discuss it.

  • Make sure your opponent doesn't have a monster with 3k ATK in Deck.
  • Use this, search BLS while burning your opponent for 500 (though your opponent may or may not send something they want in the Grave to the Grave with this; point is moot in case of certain cards like Grapha who have good ATK and want to be Foolish'd).

You could also start slinging out Barbaros-Urs in weird crappy Decks that can Summon it. Crush whatever your opponent picks with this effect, burn for 500, and beat over practically anything.

Even if it works for your opponent as well, the whole "Can either add any monster to your hand or Foolish it" doesn't sound like something that should exist. Lose on purpose to mill Mezuki, Dandy, or other things you're gonna Foolish. Then, huge-ATK monsters like BLS and... uh... yeah, BLS, get RotA'd.

It can be used as a searcher, or a mill card. Or both. It would be a battle of who has the Biggest (for searching)/Smallest (For milling) ATK, really. There are basically no downsides, other than you can't use it when too low.

You could, you would just lose. XD

But really, most tier one-two decks don't main monsters with more than (or even equal too) 3000 ATK. BLS is basically added to your hand instantly. And then just reveal 2 other beaters.

HEY! Got the best idea ever.

Judgement Dragon.

Then, Judgement Dragon.

Finally, Judgement Dragon.

Oh god that horrifying nuke from the that 3000 ATK beat stick I don't want any of that D:

OT: Still I can see it has both the use of either mill card or effective searcher depending on what you and your opponent reveal.
