There's enough room to make this card a D-Prison on steroids. The issue comes when you have to run 2 cards to make this work, and so the instances in which they aren't both drawn into while Mirror and D Prison could have actually helped don't help convince people otherwise.

Which is a shame because it's a hilarious combo that should have had at least the chance to be seen back when Lightning Vortex was a 10 dollar staple.

Of course, there's the issue that when a player makes a push, they don't usually go into defensive stances as much as they preserve their hand and attack with what they have, and when the player gets too defensive, they don't usually attack to begin with. That might have something to do with it as well...

I think the point is to discuss the possibility of this being run, or more accurately, whether Heavyweight Samurais have any chance of making it somewhere on the tier ladder.

It only really works in combo with other cards, like Zero Gravity.

and yet still no one runs this.

Thank you for using an entirely new post just to say the exact same thing you did earlier, bringing absolutely nothing new to the discussion, thus marking this as spam.

Don't do it again.

Maybe you could try something like elaborating on what makes the card too flawed to be run? Like the fact it's Triggered by an attack, but only affects defensive monsters? That's the biggest flaw with the card. Other posts in the topic noted that this problem with how it needs to combo with other cards to make it consistent.

The beauty of this card is that your opponent may sometimes want to test the waters by attacking with 1 monster to see if you have Mirror Force out and keeping all other monsters in Defense. I will admit it is pretty lulz worthy to see them squirm. But yeah there is also other cards that will force monsters into defense including Area B (This won't affect Xyz's though.)

Really only has a use against Superheavy Samurai and Ghostricks, really, and Ghostricks generally flip to attack, battle, then flip back down, so it's situational against even THOSE.

Could see it being sided if Superheavys make it significantly high on the tiers, otherwise it's doomed to pretty much being useless.

Adding to what I said here, there's also the other two issues that:

-It doesn't actually stop the offensive push your opponent is doing (the attack), at least not on its own.

-Even if it was just as situational, it'd still be at least more viable if it found a better triggering condition. As is, it's only really a viable option if it's gonna trigger over-extention. You will not very often find an opponent attacking with a giant boss while having Scapegoats out, and even if that particular scenario happened, they still only wasted 1 card on those goats, breaking even at best. Just like Lightning Vortex was never really viable at any period of time unless your opponent had at least 2 monsters it could destroy, and even then you wanted to mostly wait for your opponent to have that third monster or to have something useful at discard and gain something out of it. Otherwise no.

I mean...

Geargiarmor, Hands, Shaddolls, Yang Zing, Batteryman Micro Cell sometimes, and so on are all commonly set monsters... Just to name a few.

This is still bad, but defense position is hardly rare.

Although... how often are you going to get those monsters in defense when another monster is attacking?

Arma Knight dump lizard + falcon/falcon

DEF weenie Yang Zing + the 22/19/16 guys.

hands not 100% but niche

Again, this is still terrible, and I am in no way defending it, just saying that defense position is still very real.

I'm happy to agree that Defense Position is no longer a completely irrelevant thing.

Though the most usual tactic I see is to Set from your hand during your Main Phase 2 or during a Main Phase 1 where you don't plan on attacking.

This is with the exception of Shadolls which need to trigger right when they Fusion Summon.

So yes, it's still not gonna be exactly a staple material. Maybe someday since we never really know how the game will inevitably shift in the long run.
