Umbra
Joined in August of 2007. Creative Writing was called Fanfic back then, and when I posted my first fanfic, there were only two pages. Not because of any limitations or anything; there just hadn't been a lot of content yet at that time. Became a mod at some point. Started killing peoples[sic] dreams with the Advanced Clause. Modded through (some of) the porn raids, which was an interesting experience to say the least. Eventually drifted off the site, now occasionally popping in for a revisit. ~ P O L A R I S ~
You have enough prestige here that we actually considered a rep level with your name on it; specifically, Armz-like. (I think it was at 2000 or something, I don't know; or maybe 1K). Actually Armz-like is totally a thing already, check his profile! :P
vla1ne
I've been a member since 2013, but I've been making cards here since a date that I cannot actually remember. I remember working on a really large scarlet devil mansion set here at one time and I decided to just go ahead and make an account since I had nothing better to do and I really wanted to save the cards somewhere more intelligent than my old computer. I never actually posted the complete set either since I could never think of a decent effect for remelia, but I think some of you might remember the meiling card I'd been using as my sig for my first few months here. After about 3 months I discovered that the site had more to offer than cards, and I decided to actually start posting in forums. I think the worst topic of mine was about limiting special summons. I really hadn't played yugioh seriously at that time, I'd been more of a really casual player since I was broke around that time, but got deeper into the game, and this site as time went on. I made a few friends, and actually enjoyed most of my time here because I was able to simply observe and learn via conversations about the metagame how to play competitive pokemon/yugioh properly. so I guess being here helped me discover more about the games I liked, and provided me with a lot of fun conversations.I did a bunch of pointless things, and I met a bunch of people whose relative jolliness varied, but I think for the most part, this place is my favorite site to go to when I just need to sit down and lurk.nowadays I'm swamped with work and college, and I really haven't been on much since I lost my internet for a few months, but I can say that this website has been pretty fun. Eventually, during one week/ month when I'm not so busy I'll polish up and complete that phantasmal illusion set alongside komeiji koishi.
Umbra
I had to deal with a one person raid myself during my modship. Not a cleanup task that is to be desired, but one that must be done. Yeah, it's not something I would wish on anybody. We had the entire mod-team up and running at one point, cleaning out threads and IP-banning spam accounts left and right. There was some really deprived shit in there.
Thar
To put it simply: Joined in 2007, made cards, entered contests, joined clubs, left, came back, joined some roleplays, left, came back, here I am.

Cierfrost
Way too much to say to ever write without giving me a few days and about 20 pages of posts just on my own. The short heartfelt version is though that I met so many wonderful people here, some from 2008 that I still talk to and are great friends with. Others that have come and gone later or before. Koko, Amethyst, and Fenrir in particular have had such an effect on me that my psychologist/therapist has thanked them personally. And I've had such an effect on this site that only Frunk/Reece (more so by wide miles) and my protege Night/Amir (by sheer virtue of what he's doing now) are on the same level by the time I left in Jan 2012 for personal reasons. EliminateHRN
According to my profile, I signed up in December of 2007; I would've been 12 or 13 or around that age, it's late and my math skills are lacking right now. Seen YCM go through a lot of changes and events, though I have never been a big part of the community. I was always on the sidelines, just watching and minding my own business. YCM was just a site I went to to kill time even when I was into Yu-Gi-Oh, I never did anything that will go down in YCM history or impacted the site in some way. I've met some cool people in my time here, but aside from Sam (or Brushfire, I think his username is here?), I never really made any friends while here. So, yeah, I don't have a long post detailing about my time here or the friends I've made here since I just wasted a good portion of my time here. Nowadays, I just browse the site when I'm bored and occasionally posts when a topic gets my attention.
Simping For Hina
I have been on here for about 4 years now, which is a long time for me since I am only 18. But I am just not attached to my past or to YCM, really. I appreciate being here, but my time doesn't matter and neither does me being here as a member. If YCM crashed forever, I wouldn't care too much about what happens afterwards; I would just move on. It is a site to me, not something that saved my life or something that changed me for the better. I hardly establish an effect that YCM has on me except for giving me something to just waste my time. YCMing when drunk is sometimes the best thing for me. I guess I spend my life away from YCM more than the time I spend here, that I just don't have an attachment to this site as some of you do.I met some cool people on here, but I haven't gotten close to any of them as I am close to my best friends outside of here. The most notable people to have an effect on my life here are those that I can't live without knowing how they are, but I can live without being a part of their daily life. I respect so many of you guys, but I don't have the need to be part of how you guys live and I don't care how you live your lives if you're happy. Don't expect me to be anything other than just a member on this site, a lurker and a joker.I just laugh and shrug, then move on and YCM isn't anything more than a site to waste my time. Some of the best days I spent on here were the days when I was just an outcast from my daily life, but I have a life worth living now and it was the worse area that I set my self up in until I realized how I want to live my life. You forgot the shenanigans about YCM not trusting you had a twin, which resulted in a huge majority of your bans. I am sorry for that by the way. Goose
Oh yeah I forgot about that. Happened also when we went to a spinoff site by someone named Tiger. Actually the only person right now who has hung out with both of us at once over skype/whatever is Matt I think.
Flame Dragon
Some of the people I used to talk to are probably wandering around on this website still and I'm sorry if I don't remember some of you. I'd like to post a couple names (what I remembered them as before I left) of the people that had made my stay on this website pleasant. Not in any particular order but just whoever I remembered before the other (if that makes sense). -FlameDragon (person who locked my first couple threads LOL)Daw, thank you.Anyway, I am an actual fossil at this point. I joined way back in August of 2007 when I was still 14 and haven't spent any significant period away from the site in the over 7 years I've been here. Found it through a friend (TAG that remember him) and started out making cards. Main series were Smash and Pokemon and if memory serves they were pretty popular. Eventually I started learning more about the game and ended up being active in the TCG discussion. In January of 2009 I became the mod of the Video Games section. To give you an idea of how long ago that is, most of the current mod team don't know me from before I was a mod. At some point I also become a Super and was until it was decided that Supers would have more powers and went back to being a normal mod. I know hang out in video games, anime/manga, and other tcg haven't quit Yugioh all the way back in 2010. At this point, I can't see myself leaving since I've just been here to long. bury the year
Herpaderp, I should post my history here too. Joined in the summer of 2008 under the name tectonix55, right around the end of 8th grade. Started off with custom cards as most of us did, had a small following with making "member cards" for other people (god, do people still do that anymore?)Then my interest in YGO swiftly waned, so I moved into fanfiction writing and got a few stories started, although none of them lasted more than a few chapters if I remember correctly. I made friends with Umbra during that time, who I still consider my most respected person on this site.Eventually moved into the RP section, and although I was originally dismayed by the perceived low quality of the writing there, I decided to stay on. Umbra nominated me for modship in 2010 and I accepted, hoping to use the position to amp up the quality of roleplays. The "Advanced Clause Wars" came about as a result, but I think it's been a successful experiment overall. However, in time my interest in roleplaying waned as well, so I stepped down late last year as to free up my spot. Now, I guess I've just been hanging around Other TCG and Manga/Anime, extolling the virtues of EDH to whomever will listen. (:
Cierfrost
The "Advanced Clause Wars" came about as a result, but I think it's been a successful experiment overall. That whole thing was a mess, and all because it was backed by one guy. Granted the one guy that mattered. Sushi*. I remember it got to the point where Rinne had to call me in to make him back down. Provided I agreed with the "Advanced Clause" and all, and I did. All it took was one swift post on my end and it was implemented. (Back then I was fervent about not involving myself in issues outside CC). To this day I cannot understand why he didnt want the form of Quality Control that the "Advanced Clause" wanted to maintain. I didnt roleplay then but it was still rather absurd to see users having single sentence or gesture replies to a post. And... he supported that? It wasn't even that bad. Just detail an action, say something, then conclusion. Standard story stuff... *: SushiTheLegend was the second Graphics Moderator on the site, and joined Roleplay Moderation when Rinne wanted additional help as he was active in there at the time as well. Poc
My only claim to fame is that I've been here since before the beginning of this site. If Flame Dragon is a fossil, I'm the primordial ooze. 8 years is a long time.
~British Soul~
I joined the site back in January 2008, primarily to use the card maker even though most if not all of the cards I made turned out shite, unrealistic and silly, although I eventually deleted every last one of them. It wasn;t long before I lost interest in the site, but that was mainly due to exams and the like so it seems understandable. It wasn't until the summer of 2010 that I noticed the existence of the forums and getting acquainted with the members, even if I had gotten on the wrong side of them from time to time (Which is more times than I would like to admit). In fact I remember getting quite a few warns in my first couple of years on the forums as well as getting post locked for a week in February 2011 for spamming links to the "Objection!" site, but since then I feel like my post quality has somewhat improved and I don't spam as much. Of course, whilst I have gotten on the wrong side of people during my time here (Again more times than I would like to admit), I have made quite a few friends on this site, but sometimes I wish I could converse with them more as I sometimes feel like an outcast, and I reckon it took a while for me to make any sort of mark on the community even though I've been here for getting on 5 years (Haven't had any extended periods of absence... yet). Some of my memories on this site included the Egyptian Gods/Legendary Planets war which took place in the Summer of 2011 where a number of us changed out names to match those of the Gods/Planets and we started warring with each other, various name change fiascos which were a lot of fun even if some of the names we received were silly/stupid, reading topics in TCG that would be considered gold (Eisbahn and Solemn Judgment being examples), etc. Some of my more recent memories on the site included the Maid fad (ft Team Aix/Team Agro) and the 2013/2014 Halloween events where I paraded around as monsters for both events (Skull Knight #2 and Lost Number), although with the latter event, the Night's Watch group was implemented and I joined it because I can. Of course joining said group did have its negatives, because a short while later marriages became a thing and I didn't know at the time that people on Night's Watch cannot marry and I couldn't wait for that t expire so that I could put a marriage application in. I did enjoy being the monsters for both events though. or if you want the tl;dr version: - Joined in 2008, made some shit - Started using the forums in 2010, done some shit - Met people who liked me, met people who disliked me ... - 7 years on, I still exist.
