Blake
Reibyou no Shugosha / Protector of the Shrine Dark Dragon / Effect LV4 0/2100 You can only use the (2) effect of “Protector of the Shrine” once per turn. (1) You can treat this card as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a Dragon-Type monster. (2) If this card is in your hand or Graveyard while a Dragon-Type monster you control other than “Protector of the Shrine” is sent to the Graveyard by either a card or being destroyed by battle: You can Special Summon this card. If that monster sent to the Graveyard is a Normal Monster in your Graveyard, you can also add 1 Dragon-Type Normal Monster from your Graveyard to your hand. Kougyoku no Housatsu / Card of Red Jewel Spell Normal You can only activate 1 “Card of Red Jewel” per turn. (1) Send 1 Level 7 “Red-Eyes” monster from your hand to the Graveyard; draw 2 cards, then you can send 1 Level 7 “Red-Eyes” monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Bringerofcake
Red-Eyes Trade-in seems neat, plus a mill is always appreciated. Shame it doesn't mill the archfiend though.
JessicaMuddy
Protector of the Shrine is beautiful, especially since it works with Blue-Eyes too.
Maeriberii Haan
Wheeeee, totem dragon just got outclassed! Protector's a fine 1-of I think, and the trade in/fooolish looks damn neat since you have Summoner's art to play with it. Coolstuffs.
Azuh
Red Eyes Zombie Dragon gets some love with Jewel. But these cards are a bit underwhelming. I was hoping for a retrained Meteor Dragon
~British Soul~
^ We may still get it as we're not done with the Red-Eyes support yet (given that JP022 still isn't known yet) OT: I agree with Nai, you don't really need more than 1 Protector of the Shrine, but I do like how it isn't restricted to just Red-Eyes though. Ah right. I just saw that protector is number 24 when I thought it was 22 I'm just a little annoyed that Jewel Doesn't affect Level 7 or lower Red Eyes monsters. Would've given the card a much better range especially if we do end up getting a Meteor Dragon retrain
~British Soul~
Ah right. I just saw that protector is number 24 when I thought it was 22 Yeah, the first thing I did when I saw Protector was to see what numbr it is in the set. I'm just a little annoyed that Jewel Doesn't affect Level 7 or lower Red Eyes monsters. Would've given the card a much better range especially if we do end up getting a Meteor Dragon retrain I agree, it's as if Archfiend is essentially getting the shaft, though tbf it is a Fiend, so it isn't too surprising. Just Crouton
Red-Eyes went full incredible. And Jewel works with Summoner's Art. Christ.
evilfusion
Interesting. I only glanced at these before, but now I have more time to really look at them. Protector seems amusing, being able to be a Totem Dragon, and being able to SS itself if you have a Dragon sent by an effect/battle. And then you can search a Normal Dragon if the dragon was Normal. That means even a Normal Summoned Gemini will count, because it's again treated as a Normal in the Graveyard. And it works with more than just Red-Eyes. Red Jewel is...interesting. It's a Trade-In for Level 7 Red-Eyes. That does let it be used for Malefic Red-Eyes, but because it's specific to Level 7 ones, it leaves out the Red-Eyes Archfiend and REDMD (good). And only lets you mill from the same pool of targets. Not bad, and probably useful, but I'm not sure HOW good it really will be.

Premier Alexander Romanov
XD. I just realized the best use of Protector of the Shrine: the very card featured in the background of its art, and its namesake. Dragon's Shrine.
