You can only attack with 1 monster you control during the turn you activate this card's effect. When this card is Normal Summoned, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Normal Summon 1 monster from your hand. Once per turn: You can target 1 other Attack Position monster you control; change it to Defense Position, and have this card gain its ATK and DEF until your next Standby Phase.

Yes "Magical" is kind of a lame archetype name... *shrugs* but I'm bad with names.

About the card, I've never seen a generic +1 Normal Summon effect in the game. It is usually Yosenjus or Hunders, or Special Summon effects like Tin Goldfish or Goblindberg, and sometimes non Level 4s like Marauding. So I actually wonder if the effect on itself would be game-breaking... At some point I'm pretty sure Monarchs would have been great with it, but nowadays I think even they have better stuff to do... maybe.

Then I added the pattern here again. It doesn't need to go into a Synchro or Xyz play with the extra Normal Summon in order to make a power hit. It will not make much damage but it will take down big monsters at the very least.

This card was actually originally created a long time ago with the purpose of mitigating the impact a Mirror Force would have on your field without having to go for a Stardust and the like. Then Mirror Force fell off the face of the Earth for a while but I'm starting to see it used once again this format so, yeah xP

I don't think it would be game breaking on its own, but having this, Tin Goldfish, chameleon thing and that airplane thingy together with a bunch of other stuff is the main problem IMO.

I get what you are saying. Too much Rank 4 support out there.

You probably mean Tin Goldfish, Masked Chameleon and Goblindberg, and there's also Kagetokage.

Here, have a video of someone swarming as many Materials for a Rank 4 as possible.

I like the flavour of the fact that it looks like maestroke and has a defense position interaction.

Thank you =' D

Out of curiosity, which effect is the drawback tied to? Or is it just both in general?

Also, the difference with This, compared to other things like Goldfish, etc, is it's like this...
Typically monsters like that only go off when Normal Summoned. You actually can play This card through stuff like Monk/Call/etc, and it would still be able to grant an additional Normal Summon in that same turn.
Hell, you could even do pro moves like Goldfish/etc into This -> This lets you Tribute both for something that needs 2 monsters.
Oh, and it's funny how This card can stack with copies of itself, which is pretty amusing.

Actually ^^" It does say "when Normal Summoned", but if you think the card wouldn't break if it just said "Summoned", I'll be happy to edit that xP

Especially because I like the idea of double Tribute monster support in your example.

and yes, the drawback is if you use ANY of its effects. Though that drawback is not tied to him so you can stack 3 copies and boost the last one to insane amounts.

So let's say standard 1800 beater for the 4th Summon..... err.. La Jinn.

Lajinn to Def > 1800 + 1600 = 3400 ATK (first copy)

First copy to Def > 3400 + 1600 = 5000 ATK (second copy)
Second copy to Def > 5000 + 1600 = 6600 ATK (third copy)

and then even here, you can just choose to attack with a Kuriboh instead if you want...

Really, the problem with this is that it enables Rhongomiant too heavily. Most any deck that uses him can add 3 of this and make it even easier.

Rhongomiant is already enabled through Inferno Reckless, Tellarknights, Bubbleman/A HERO Lives, Goblindberg, and who knows what else.

But of course, for all I know it could be that those are like a glass of water about to be overfilled and spill, and this card could be that last drop that makes it happen...

if this card would put 5 material Rhongomiant on the map, I suppose I could change its Type. It is a half-Toad so I could make it Aqua and it'd still fit....
What do you think? ^^
